The Armed Republic of Alfeite is upgrading it's armed forces and concentrating on it's Navy. The first step of the process was the aproval of the substitution of Alfeite's 10 Daphne Class SSs (Diesel Electric Attack Submarines). Since it's an outdated design and needing constant upgrading, funds have been raised to pay the construction of 5 SSN's (Nuclear Powered Attack Submarines) and 10 SS's. The specifications will be the following:
For the SS's:
-Ships with no more than 60 metres in lenght
-Autonomy for missions up to 2 months
-Max submerged speed of about 20 knots
-Crew no more than 55 men (improved electronics for reduction of crew)
-Improved underwater and sound supressing capability
-mine deployment and SSM (Surface to Surface Missile) system and anti-ship missile system required
-Double hull
-Max Diving Depth of 400 meters
For the SSN's:
-Ships with no more than 90 metres in lenght (design requesting an improved and smaller reactor)
-Improved underwater performance, highly streamlined hull and superior stealth performance
-Double hull (single hull designs will still be considerated)
-Max underwater speed of about 35 knots
-Crew of no more than 70 men
-VLS (Vertical Launch System) missile capability required
-Improved electronics
-Special Forces Deplyment Capability required
-Land Targets Attack system required
-Max Diving depth of 450 metres
We Will consider any design avaible and comunicate our decision very shortly
