Upgrading our M1A2's

21-09-2003, 00:30
We have decided to upgrade our M1A1's and M1A2's to M1A3's.

The M1A3 is equipped with an all around day/night TV/thermal camera that can automatically engage and manage up to 10 active or passive targets. M1A3's can exploit and effectively destroy any enemy tank or rotary wing aircraft on today's modern battlefield. It uses newly designed digital systems in a sensor pod for target recognition, identification, prioritization, and automatic tracking. Its primary weapon is a 140 mm smoothbore gun, with secondary antiair/antiarmor missiles, and a 12.7 mm machine gun.

10,000 M1A1's will be converted into M1A3's within ten years

The cost is $1,000,000 per M1A2 and $1,500,000 per M1A1

Just dump the M1A2 altogether and get something better.....

I have several tanks that are better, but I have produced thousands of M1A1-2's

Take the good stuff off the M1's (if there are any....) and put em in new better tanks.)

Ah, this is what I was looking for.

My big question is this - are you upgrading the armor? I think that it's very necessary to keep the Abrams on top of its game.

Ideally you should upgrade the armor and add some shielding around the MGs on the roof to make it easier for the crew to man them - protection from small arms fire.

Upgrading the armor to 1,500MM and adding 400MM armor on the roof

We have to redesign the engine to run at 40 MPH with the extra armor

That is excellent - when, if ever, will these upgrades be for sale?

I can upgrade 500 of your tanks per (NS year) to M1A3's

Upgrades cost $2,000,000 per tank

Lol, I just replaced the M1A2s with Swedish CV-90120 light tanks. Twenty tons, easily transportable, just as powerful, with upgraded elecronics and ammo, much better then the M1A2. Sweden rocks!

1500mm of armor? How much bigger is the engine and how much more does it weigh? Abrams only has 800mm of armor...

It weighs about 20 tons more than the M1A1

We need to restructure the engine with over 3,000 HP to move faster than 10 MPH.

Don't ask me. We just have the things. I can find the stats on it later, as they are on my laptop. But as all of our tanks, they have the 55mm rocket pods on each side of the turret.

We have a 35MM Rocket Pod

Huh? M1A1 weighs 65 tons or so....

My new M7 Jackson has a total RHA of 2,200mm of frontal armor. Its basically because of new specially treated DU armor combined with Kaktus-10 and layered Ceramics.

How much bigger is its engine?

2 times bigger than the M1A2 engine

Thats big, mine are only 1800hp.
21-09-2003, 03:00
M1A2 is 1750 HP :?, I think
21-09-2003, 03:00
I take it the M7 is a totally new design...

Yes, very new. It has a Merkava like layout with all the crew members contained in the hull, not in the turret. The turret is small and lightly armored, making more room for armor on the crew compartment.

I assume you will be using a Diesel engine, and not a Turbine? Turbines cause more problems then they solve. Of course, you could abandon your tank, and wait until I build the Variant of the Attican Army's King Leopard, the Leopard III.

Hate to rain on your parade but sum1s already copyrighted the M1a3, i know coz i tried to make one! There are several different M1A3s in the world. No one has the name M1A3 copyrighted. Anyone may call ria tank the M1A3, even if it has nothing to do with the Abrams line of tanks.
