Vethage Settlement, 19 Sept. -- The United Nations ambassador from Reformed Alcardia, Alex Baron, reignited his firey railings against certain U.N. resolutions that he saw as "trampling the independent nations of the world" today.

"We will not tolerate having our constitutions trampled, our rights stripped, and our heritages made illegal by a body that has the job of representing every nation," Baron said, bracing himself against the podium at times, "The United Nations has no right to tell nations how old their voting age must be, or how they may forest their lands, or how they may choose to own or not own slaves of any kind!"

Reformed Alcardia, which passed stiff anti-slavery legislation six months ago, is considered the regional benchmark of the Reformed Alcardian States region.

"Resolutions that have gained a large amount of signatures in the U.N., some of which are completely frivolous and silly, are being taken as legitimate actions for the United Nations to take!" Baron continued.

Baron ignited a world controversy when he began railing against the U.N. earlier this month - a controversy that has apparently caused him to consider resigning from the position of United Nations Ambassador from Reformed Alcardia. Baron has not said that his U.N. position has anything to do with his contemplating resignation.

"At not time should anyone think that an organization, any organization, could compel me to resign from any office I have ever or will ever hold. Should I choose to retire from this business, it will be on my terms, and with the consent of my family," Baron said towards the end of his speech.

President Nicholas Everdale of Reformed Alcardia has voiced opinions similar to Mr. Baron, but in his normal soft-spoken manner. "The job of the United Nations ambassador is to defend the rights of the individual nations within the whole," Everdale said in a written statement issued yesterday. "From the looks of things right now, Mr. Baron is doing his job quite well."

Shortly after his speech, Mr. Baron left the U.N. headquarters after falling slightly ill, his press secretary told reporters. He is currently at his home in Vethage Settlement on the eastern Alcardian coast. There is no official word at this time as to exactly what caused Mr. Baron to fall ill.
