The President waits in his office.
The Polish advisor giving his usual lecture on the evil of democracy and the need to invade other nations to destroy it.
A tall thin gentlemen in jeans and a black T-shirt walks in followed by another gentlemen in what appears to be a military uniform.
The Polish advisor stops midsentence.......
The Polish bodyguards look at the new comers then to him as if asking what they should do.
12 more foreing military personnel enter the room, all of them armed with M16s.
The message should be clear. Or so the President of WestUkraine was hoping.

EDIT: Why kill yourself over a losing war? It's a smart Idea to just accept foreign control for a while. Maybe some other nation will come to your aid later, but for now...

What is the meaning of this? the Polish Advisor said angrily to the Ukrainians as stared at the strangers.
He looked at the body guards. "Disarm them. And then arrest them and take them to be tortured."

President: Ah, you are just in time Mr. Ambassador.
(Looking at and enjoying the look on the Polish General's face)
General Packov I would like you to meet Mr. Goodall, Whittier's ambassador to West Ukraine. And this (points to the first foreign soldier, decorations on his uniform, is General Ramses, Commanding General of the Whittier Expeditionary Forces for West Ukraine.
General Packov's face turns pale.
President continues: Oh, yes, Whittier has offered me a much better security package than your nation.
He has promised to protect us from RF and the likes of you.
Your services General are no longer required.

General Packov:
You don't think you could get away with this do you?
We have troops in your country. We will not leave easily.
In fact we now have no choice but to punish your civilians for your heinous act of betrayal.

President:
Oh no no. My dear General, you misunderstand.
You and your men are not leaving Ukraine. For you all under arrest.

The Whittier troops dispatched as the Ukrainian President's new body guards seize the weapons from the Polish soldiers as they stood there looking stunned.
Hands placed behind their backs and handcuffed they and their General were led out of the room to the downtown jail.
Now Mr. Ambassador, about the other Polish troops in our nation....

We will take care of those other Polish commies for you.
We'll just need your assistance in apprehending them in case they resist.
But with the arrest of their General, there shouldn't be much resistance from them.

Having lost their leader, most Communist Poland troops surrendered with out a fight to Whittier/Ukrainian forces.
But up in Chernobyl, Colonel Oliver Houser refused to surrender. It was against his sense of honor to surrender without a fight. Besides, unlike the fools in Gdanks who had sent him here, he was a real communist and a real patriot. His troops underfed but highly motivated trusted him enough to follow him anywhere he led them.
He did not like being in the Ukraine. He'd rather be home close to his family. But he was a soldier and he had a job to do. Whether he liked his orders or not. A true soldier obeys orders without question.
His orders told him to hold Chernobyl at all costs.
He was not about to let it go without a fight. He had forced his men to sleep out in the open, like they did "in the good ole days" while other division commanders were commandeering the homes of private ukrainian citizens to shelter the soldiers in their units. For there is no honor in forcing defenseless people out of their homes.
Some in his unit wanted to follow the actions of the other units, but not while he was in command.
He'd recieved the order to defend Chernobyl three days ago. It had been a long wait. But now, with Whittier and Ukrainian troops just outside the city, his troops would have their chance to do what they trained for.
Either they would successfully defend the city or they would go to paradise if such a place existed. He was now wondering if there was a God. Surely there wasn't cause if there was, there wouldn't be any damned wars or any suffering.
No. God does not exist.
He turned his attention to the Whittierite officer in front of him.
"Tell your General, with all due respect. I have orders to defend Chernobyl from him, the Ukrainians and the Russians. To surrender without a fight is to lose honor. Therefore, you may tell your General I refuse surrender. If he wants us he's gonna have to come in and get us."
Lt. Youi: If that is what you want. But I hope you realize you are badly outgunned and poorly equipped.
Houser: Be that as it may, we will fight with what we have.

Saying his men were poorly equipped was an understatement because food was not the only thing Gdanks had scoffed at providing them.
