A 45mm smg???

That's all kinds of screwed up - 40mm is caliber typically found in light antiaircraft guns!

45mm, is 15mm larger than the 30mm shell of the GAU-8/A Cannon found in the A-10 Thunderbolt II. Those shells weigh 2 pounds each(i know, i have one). It is also 5mm bigger than the M433 HEDP round from a M203 grenade launcher. it is bigger than the 20mm round from a M61A1 Vulcan cannon on most US Fighters, it is bigger than the 25mm Bushmaster cannon on the M2 Bradley fighting vehicle....get the point. as for the "silencer" part, i dont think so. and as for the SMG part, do you know what SMG means, if not it is Sub-Machinegun...to get into the SMG catagory the weapon has to be fairly small and it generally fires a pistol caliber bullet(not always as the AKSU-74 is designated as an SMG). The HK MP5 series is one of the better examples of a SMG. plus your optional 36in barrel, will (1) remove the weapon from the SMG catagory easily, (2) add most likely an additional 10-15lbs to the weapon(20lbs for this rifle to begin with would be very difficult and it better have one hell of a muzzlebrake if it is shoulder-fired(not a chance, would have to be vehicle mounted). just look at the muzzle brake on a Barrett M82A1 and that is just a 50cal(12.7X99mm) your talking something over 3X the size, nearly 4X larger. Weapon needs a redesign fast.

I guarantee you that you don't. The biggest pistol on the market is the S&W .50 Magnum

You probably have a .44 or .45 magnum pistol - that's the caliber and it's measured in inches.

Now, a .45 caliber smg is no big news - the Thompson, Grease Gun, and UMP45 are all that caliber. If that's what you meant, then that's cool.

 No. You don*t. Period. A 45mm pistol would simple be impossible.

I think I am going to design a single shot 50mm pistol, lol

It's acceptable, but those weapons all have one major problem: control.
Due to the power of the .45 ACP round, all those weapons are known for being extremely difficult to near impossible to fire accurately on full auto. That's one of the main reasons they don't make them anymore.

The grease gun is great for engagements between 3 and 0 feet.
19-09-2003, 05:21
Sure, sure, but the UMP45 isn't that bad.

Going by the size of the grip to the size of the barrel. then thats a 15mm at most. 50mm is larger than the triggerguard.

We in The Phoenix Milita have very big hands.

[occ: that is an edited pic of .50 BMG pistol ( I enlarged the barrel width 3 times so it would be 38.1 mm in the image.) Also, the gun i made is a joke  ]

VERY pistols.

The NZ armed forces VERY pistol is a 43mm with a 110mm long barrel. looks like a M203 40mm grenade launcher with a pistol grip. and will fire a parachute flare 60 metres into the air.
20-09-2003, 00:46
Actually- he can have a 40mm grenade launcher- but then its not an SMG.
20-09-2003, 00:47
The problem was that he said the gun was 45mm and *also* had a grenade launcher.

I tried to tell him he meant .45 caliber but then he ran away.
