PNN Wires-PENDALE, IDP Penguinatans across the nation have begun to show an extreme interest in having an Imperial government. This interest has been spurred by an especially prosperous time for Automagfreek, a very close ally of Isla de Penguinata. The populace is growing more and more inclined towards an Empire, not a democratic state. Most groups are saying that they want to elect the first Emperor, and take it from there. A stunning 87% are interested in an Imperial government, and 93% of those want to know what the international community thinks. If any such change in government should happen, all alliances and friendships would remain the same, say sources.

I commend your impending shift to an Imperial Government. It is much improved over a democracy. To be honest, people are stupid. If allowed to choose, they will generally choose poorly.

I have much experience in being Dictator of Gurian. Although slightly different than an Imperial Government, they are similar enough. First off, remember the purpose you are in office. To make lives better for the people under you. Do not be psychotic, they are not playthings.

Also, always listen to your advisors. They are far more knowledgeable than you in their subject of expertise. Use this knowledge. It is their job to keep you informed and your job to deal with the bigger picture.

Imperial Decree to the Isla of Penguinata:

I, Emperor Finegold II, wishes to help you nudge your way up to imperial status. I believe that a change in government may be the thing your nation needs. My nation has never fallen before the economic state of "good" and has just expanded economic capabilities to "strong" and we are hoping to get to "very strong" by next year.

But our ally, the Republic of Zossen, has suffered an economic downfall and is back at "good". Thus proving my point.

At your approval our government, with our newfound wealth, is ready to donate 75 billion USD (or 150 billion sheckels).

We graciously thank The Macabees for their monetary support, and if you insist, it will be gratefully accepted.

We also thank the Dictator of Gurian for his support.

Jennifer Coulten, current President of Isla de Penguinata, is trying to stop this curve towards an Imperial government, even though the people want it. Soon we will have an election...

The 75 billion will arrive at your ports in two weeks in gold bullions. Do not be scared of the escort, which will be 1 carrier, 7 Iowa Class Battleships, 4 Cruisers, 15 Class Wolf Subs (Macabee produced) and 4 Cruisers.

If you're having problems with keeping the peace, which happens to many nations going under governmental change (so you wouldn't be the only one) TM or just post it up here and I'll be happy to send over 3,000 infantry armed with merely assault rifles and pistols + riot control gear to keep the peace and to see that the elections go fairly. But this is up to you and ONLY if your having problems.

Dictator Anderson sat in his desk, awaiting the status report on the Isla de Penguinata situation. Finally the door creaked open and an assistant rushed in.

"What took you so long?" Dictator Anderson asked.
"I apologize, it was hard to track down information," the assistant replied.
"Oh well. Thank you."
"You're welcome, sir."

Dictator Anderson surveyed the report.

Hrmm...financial backing. They seem strong, though. But there may be riots. I should probably offer Gurian Military services, Dictator Anderson thought. And so he took out a sheet of paper and a pen, and began writing.

I see that you are receiving some financial backing from The Macabees. I am not against this, so please do not take it the wrong way. I just feel that after the switch to Imperialism, some who would prefer another system may decide to protest.

I believe in freedom of speech and peaceful protest. However I fear that this protesting may elevate into a riot. And a riot could put lives in danger.

If you would permit, I would like to send a group of 1,000 Gurian Troops in order to assist should any rioting break out. These soldiers are highly trained, and I mean that. We spend $75,000 to train each soldier. They are prepared to deal with crowd control situations up to an extreme riot with heavilly armed civillians.

Please send a reply soon. The sooner I have your approval, the sooner I can send in help.

We thank Gurian for its relentless efforts to help us, and we accept their grant of troops in the case of any riots. However, very few Penguinatans are still opposed to an Imperial government.

OOC: I'm about start a thread on the election, I'll post the link here. :)

We have voted in favour of this switch. We ourselves are not strictly imperial, but are more a dictatorship/corporation government. Despite this, our 'Mindset' is "what the hell is wrong with agressive expansionism?"
