Night, Adornia
President Forrest, wasouton one of the many balconies of the Presidentil Mansion, enjoying the night breeze and drinking a glass of brandy. He surveyed the lawn, knowing that dozens of security devices were implanted underneath, and that at least half a dozen snipers were currently keeping an eye on him. He sipped his drink.
Suddenly there was a distant explosionfrom within the Forest City. Forrest jerked in alarm and watched as a dark plume of smoke began to rise. Two security personell dashed out onto the blacony.
"Mr. President! The military base has been attacked by our own soldiers!"
"What?"
"It's General Darton, sir. He's initiated a coup attempt! We have to get you to safety!"
The president was escorted from the mansion as the sound of gunfire filled the streets. Loyal troops were fighting back, but losing ground. As Forrest boarded a helicopter, the last view he had of Forest City was smoke and flames.
On Board the Adornian Space Station New Hope
The president stared at the tactical display. Most of Adornia had been overrun by the traitors forces, but luckily roughly 2/3 of Adornia's military remained loyal to him. Unfourtanetly, those 2/3 were deployed either abroad or in space. He gritted his teeth. He was recalling Adornia's loyal forces, but there wasn't much time...
"Mr. President? We're recieving a transmission from the planet. It's being seen on almost all of the Televisions in Adornia.
Forrest turned to watch as General Darton appeared on screen. Forrest thought for a moment. David Darton had always been ambitious...
Darton began to speak:
"Attention Adornian citizens!Do not be alarmed. I have diposed the incompent President known as James Forrest! He and his administration were weak. They did not know how to rule. As of know, I am the ruler of Adornia. This is the dawning of a new age! The Empire of Adornia is at hand!'
The transmission fades.
James turned grimly to his aide.
"Send messages to all friendly nations. We're going to need some help."
