16-09-2003, 18:03
Space Development Consortium of Sierra Pampa and Tranquility Shores has finished the construction new space station, dedicated to the advancement of research, development and utilization of space. High Sierra Industrial Station has research and manufacturing modules for biological, pharmaceutical, chemical, metallurgy, and numerous others. The sensors and Earth-monitoring system are available for lease as well; provide highly detailed and full-spectrum analysis of the planet below.

High Sierra currently has space for over 150 modules and will be expanded as need and the market dictates. Current Service and Facilities Available for Lease or Use (leasing price per 6 months):
Research Modules (half module $1.5M; full module $3M) Manufacturing Modules (full module $3.5M; double module $5M) Orbital Serving of Satellites & other stations (starting at $2M, depends on service; refuel/repart/upgrade/etc) Planetary Sensor Time Share ($1M; Consortium and partners not liable data used for military purposes) Free-floating Mini Station ($7.5M; nothing like a little privacy) Material Transportation ($2M)

High Sierra Industrial Station is serviced and supplied by the Consortium’s fully automated shuttle craft, which is also used to returned material samples and manufactured products. Alternatively, partners can use their own transports if available.

OOC: You seem a bit young for this, but at least you are not claiming huge fleets of giant super-uber-space-dreadnaughts.

Neat station, but you may want to consider joining the International Space Station (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=63831&highlight=) instead.

OOC: Tranquility Shores is a colony of Sierra Pampa, founded 16 June. So yes, TS would be too young to pull this off but combined I believe it could be done. Thanks for the advice and insight. Any problem with the pricing?
I pick that picture for the station to expanded on it later, like the orange fuel tanks will be used later!

OOC: Ahhh, it is a colony. OK, that sounds reasonable.

As for pricing? Hmmm, not entirely sure.

The US Space Shuttle costs about 2-3 billion dollars to make, and can put object in orbit for about US $10,000 a pound (roughly US $22,000 per kilogram if I calced that right). The shuttle itself can't really get into a high orbit, but could acheive a medium orbit for about US $2000 more per pound (or $4400 per kg). And geosynch and other high orbits would be more then that.

The fuel tanks won't quite be that much since you get them most of the way up anyway, but to give them enough boost so they won't burn up will cost some money/payload (fuel). You won't be able to carry as much mass up when you take a tank up.

Very neat, sad that you don't want to join the ISS instead though.

Cool pics, but you might want to reduce the size a bit...it makes them easier to view and this easier to read.

Rylleh: order verified; well you need any transportation service or personnel training?
