10,000 Executed in Sandlewood

16-09-2003, 01:53
The dictatorial government of Sandlewood has suppressed a rebellion by farmers by the summary publicly execution of 10,000 suspected participants. The rebellion was in response the general strike massacre and the coup lead by General Mani.

Every report from Sandlewood shows that new government is consolidated power through widespread program of fear and terror carried out by the Revolutionary Guard, mercilessly persecuted all political opponents by harassment, prison and executions. The current estimated death toll since the coup is around 40,000 people from all walks of life. General Mani seems dedicated to the creation of a one-party communist government exercising total dictatorial control over all aspects of Sandlewood life.

In related news from Sandlewood:

Centralization of Communal Industries
Sandlewood has begun to centralizing the production and manufacturing processes of the country. Until the recent mandate from General Mani, Sandlewood's communal industries were worker-owned and ran enterprises the worked in coordination with similar enterprises in a guild system. Under the mandate all production quotas and management will be handle by the national government and dictated to the local enterprises. The mandate changes in the status of ownership from the local workers to national government, “for the good of the whole proletariat”.

The Foreign Minister of Sandlewood response to foreign protest:
“We were facing a rebellion and were restoring order. While your government might seek an alternative solution, appeasement, the People’s Republic of Sandlewood will conduct it internal policing in its own way.”
General Mani, President of Sandlewood response: “Foreigners! Foreigners, tell me how to run MY country! <censored> <censored>!”

Good job!

The killing of innocents is absolutely deplorable; however, the killing of rebels is a different matter altogether. If the Government of Sandlewood can provide better proof of their guilt, the DSM will stand off.

"The Rogue Nation of Gowanada condemns these actions. Only a ruler with no control would fall to the level of executing the very peasants who grow the food for the country as an example." Says Valiana Treymoor, elected Queen of Gowanada in a release in response to the actions of Sandlewood.

What exactly were the reasons of the rebellion?
16-09-2003, 02:26
Executed rebels were resisting change! The change of government, the change of the ownership of communal industries, the change necessary for the Dictatorship of the Proletariat!

Oh so pretty much they just didnt want to become communists? thats a lame excuse.
16-09-2003, 02:34
Sandlewood’s pervious government was a communal egalitarian government; communism practice at the local level. The rebels were resisting necessary integration to achieve the new government’s national priority. So they weren't executed for not wanting to communist.

In my nation, people resist integration into society, but we allow that and still accept them. We dont go around executing. There are vital niches that they fill and are highly valued by some. They do not stop our government from fufilling our national priority. It must just be a sign of your nation's governmental weaknesses.
16-09-2003, 02:43
The mass execution of citizens for demonstrations against the government is a scar on the entire world community! These actions must be stopped at once or we risk allowing all nations to oppress and destroy their people in this fashion!
16-09-2003, 03:06
Again, Sandlewood see this matter as an internal security issue and it will be resolved as we see fit.
16-09-2003, 03:09
we strongly abide by the executions. may there dead festering bodiesrot in peace.

The Drapoel Republic applauds your progress!

General Mani personally thanks the great leaders of Dra-pol, Mapliner and Dark terror.

Let me re-clarify the DSM's stance. We neither condone nor condemn the executions. A nation's internal affairs is its own business, especially if it is in the interest of its national security. We do hope that the the 'rebels' you executed really were rebels, and not innocent farmers, who may have just been mislead. Perhaps a more peaceful way of expanding your new governments influence may win their support.
16-09-2003, 03:26
Is there any immediate proof that these 'rebels' were of a severe national threat, that they posed a danger to the stablility of the nation as a whole?

Isla de Penguinata condemns this action. However, it's you country..so whatever.

This is one thing that gets on my last nerve. Nations want to post these things, and then they start screaming "THIS IS AN INTERNAL ISSUE! IT'S NUNYA!" Then why the hell do you post it for the public to see? Common Sense, On A Roll. Buy some damn Glad bags.

The King of Sergia, Sergio, released this statement today:
"I do not condemn the action of other governments in their domestic policy, as that is out of my jurisdiction. Let all of the other Nations take example and hear my words: As others do not decide on your tax rate, or your policy on welfare, or your budget, likewise you should not decide nor take action on the domestic policies of other Nations."

The Public Minister of the Kingdom of Sergia subsequently said:
"The Kingdom does not pass judgement on the actions that have ocurred, but the Kingdom itself would do its utmost to avoid such a thing happening within our borders."

OOC: the original posts were intended as foreign press report …

Sandlewood does need to provide proof to foreign government about this matter. Or as General Mani expressed to the leadership council: “these foreign governments as asking for proof? What proof! Need didn’t need any proof, we knew they were against us and our cause!”
16-09-2003, 04:31
How could a scent as soothing as that of Sandlewood be responsible for such heinous crimes against humanity?
16-09-2003, 05:37
OOC: Is it just me, or is this whole thing very reminiscent of Stalin's sweeping attempts at centralization and national ownership of industries?
16-09-2003, 06:00
OOC: well Alvarezistan, it was a source of inspiration for this event; Stalin’s purges, Mao’s Red Guards in the Cultural Revolution … thanks for noticing :D
