President Everdale approached the podium, refreshed from the experiences of his first year of governing not only a revolutionary new nation, but a cleansed region that had been handed to him on the eve of 1482 after the great Alcardian Civil War ended.

"I appeal today to the world community," Everdale said to a packed house of diplomats, reporters, and various world leaders. "The Reformed Alcardian States region is economically strong but weak in numbers. We speak today in an attempt to bolster the numbers of good, decent nations that take haven within the seal of a rejuvenated Alcardian state of mind. Our Constitution is being drafted as I speak. New nations are flocking to the borders of the RAS and being allowed in without question. The armies of RAS nations have begun training a new force to keep peace and justice in our society."
"Join the RAS," Everdale said, his voice deep and powerful. "We will create a safe region based on equality and mutual dignity of national leaders. The great Kelanthia, owner of the Kelanthian Arms Conglomerate, may be joining us within the day. The power of the former UAS has been reincarnated tenfold within the RAS. The evil of former President Rana will be cleansed through the power and dignity of our new Reformed Alcardian States!"
