It had been six years since the great war that split the United Alcardian States and engulfed the region in flame. President Arden James Rana of Alcardia, the charismatic dictator that had led the UAS through three wars, died unexpectedly of a stroke at 78 just as the declaration of civil war shot through the wires.

From the ashes of a collapsed Alcardian nation, one man, Nicholas Everdale of Alcardia, rose up and created a new nation in the embers. The Reformed Alcardian States the region came to be known, free of the controlling, dictatorial nations of the former United Alcardian States, now just a shadow of its former self. Everdale, joined by Prime Minister Michael Bakshi of The Bakshiveck Union, melded The Reformed Alcardian States into a grand showcase of diplomacy and peace.

Shortly after its creation, Reiko Hidama, the leader of the Federation of Eternal Flame and Arden Rana's former right hand man, joined the RAS and supplied it with much needed funding and military power. The second Great Revolution had begun at the hands of the former lawyer everyone called Everdale. Supplied by massive weapons and economic stores of its allies, Everdale's Reformed Alcardia grew by leaps and bounds in its first years, even though its population dwindled at 5 million men. The seeds of a great tree of power had been planted.

The combined population of the current region is around 800+ million. We need to start recruiting more nations.

The Unified Hands News Authority (TUHNA):

Today marked the beginning of a new era in the Empire of Unified Hands. The Unified Hands Core Authority (TUHCA) has announced its allegiance to the Republic of Reformed Alcardia and its leader Nicholas Everdale, reinvigorating the age-old alliance with Alcardia. To commemorate the occasion, TUHCA has decided to launch a new project for the betterment of Unifed Hands, the TWAFF project, as well as authorizing the deployment of troops to the borders of the Reformed Alcardian States to guard against the chaos of former Alcardian nations that surrounds the RAS in the wake of the death of Arden Rana and the following civil war.

In related news, Project Love, which for the past few years has been accepting and helping migrants from the old United Alcardian States during these past few years of turbulence, is to begin the gradual return of emigrants and war refugees from Alcardia to their home country. With the new Alcardian government firmly in place, TUHCA has decided that the situation has stabilized to the point that emigrant aid is no longer necessary. In addition, several Project Love facilities that were first used for the local operations of Project Love and then for the housing of the Alcardian refugees are to be fazed out as soon as the return of migrants is completed. TUHCA has announced, "[these facilities] have finally reached the end of their life cycle. With the end of their use for the foreseeable future finally in sight, we feel that this is the ideal time to shut them down and bring a new purpose to Project Love."

The news was greeted by alternating protest and jollification in the capitol. Police were called out, but casualties are reported to be within acceptable limits. Many arrests were made for attempted violations of the ban on death, but the offenders are all reported apprehended.

TUHCA has announced that, while festivities are encouraged, anyone caught with fireworks will, as per the law, have to answer for his or her actions.
