In four days (RT) the congress of the United States of Independent Hitmen will begin to discuss and debate the possible merits, advantages, disadvantages and political implications of expanding into space. Currently the United States has a small outpost on the moon housing some 50 miners and scientists who are reguarlly sending materials back to Earth by conventional shuttle. An expansion into space would see us buying and/or making a small space fleet to protect our interests, such as colony's or space stations.

As yet no Government Official has Commented on the Presidents standing on this matter, as until very recently it has been our policy to interact with space nations as little as possible (recently changed thanks to automagfreek).

EDIT: Input is welcome by other nations.

I would recommend it. You would gain access to an almost unlimited amount of mineral wealth from other planets, you would gain technology that would greatly improve the standard of living, you would have many new options for alliances since many nations previously out of reach are now available,, and you could have many fun RP's (and these aren't merely limited to war).

Thank you very much for your input and I will be sure to visit it if i decide to go into Space, and will probably do so even if I dont!
