New Fighter under Development. (pics, Large ones)

14-09-2003, 11:07
Calarca Aviation Inc. after the success of their A-1000 Taniwha SSAP is undertaking to produce a new fighter.

Currently the process is up to the wind tunnel stage and a model is undergoing testing now.

Projected design targets is sustained supercruise in the range between Mach 2.3 and 2.5, internal bay for 2x 2000lb GBUs and 8 BVRAAMs (Beyond Visual Range Air to Air Missiles, like the AIM-120 and AIM-52 Pheonix) and 6 CCVRAAM (Close Combat Visual Range Air to Air Missiles, AIM-9 and AIM-132) and to have a 25mm rotary cannon with a 2000rpm firing rate and 1200 rounds. (Vulcan is 20mm, 1200rpm and 700 rounds in F-15).

This will replace the F-21 Sirius fighter as the main air superiority fighter in frontline Calarcian combat air squadrons.

Propulsion will be by the same Pulsejet/Ramjet/Rocket as utilised in the A-1000 Taniwha SSAP.

ESAA is very interested by this news. We will be watching this thread.

(Let me say, this isn't quite what I was expecting when I clicked on the thread ;)

Nonetheless, sweet looking fighter, at any rate. I would comment more, but'd just end up sounding like an idiot.)

What? you wanted a C-6 long range fighter with a pair of R-4360's? or a C-6 with a single henderson rockets 5300lb 7G on a 5000Lb body?? lol

Yah, this is my modern 2010ish nation, not my RP WW2 1940's nation... lol

X-36 = Post WWII UFO sightings?

Sorry to crash your party, but you mentioned a F-1000?

My engines are called F-1000....

X-36 = Post WWII UFO sightings?

Umm.... is it round... spins... and abducts people for kink backdoorsy stuff???

I think my research staff might have gone a bit loopy stuck out in the boondocks where they can't talk to spies...

No F-1000.
my Taniwha SSAP (Supra-atmospheric Stealth Attack Plane) is called the A-1000.

I'm not sure what to call this. Have to ask at the Marae for the name of a flying Taniwha. carry on the traditon of calling them after hidey monsters that can't be seen unless they want.

Maybe the F-2003 Bogeyman. something the pilots on the other side can scare each other with.

"if you;re not a good boy and develop engine problems that can't be traced that keep you grounded... the bogeyman will eat you up..."

more like an unmanned arial vehicle :p
14-09-2003, 11:40
lol

Anyway, they are hyper engines, so they are no good for an Attack role.

I am developing a cheap Attack Fighter just now, to replace the A-10

(Why yes, that would be rather nice, as a matter of fact ;)

Seeing as how I have absolutely nothing relevant / useful / even terribly interesting to contribute to this thread, I think I'll just quietly make my way towards the exit. Keep up the good work, future descendents of that country we're currently fighting alongside! :))

Hey!!

it's a Eperimental Wind Tunnel Model

Next stage is a flying remote controlled model... then once we know how many spare/replacement test pilots we'll need we can start sending them up in full size prototypes.

We are very interested into this fighter. The nation of Calarca has manufactured great ships, we are also sure that they can manufacture great aircrafts.

They do indeed. We still haven't bothered to re-build that farmhouse.. I think it technically still belongs to a Calarcan, or possibly the Calarcan govt/military anyway.

'cept the bit comrade Giles keeps on his mantlepiece. It landed in the middle of his co-operative, and he's damn well going to show it off. Heh.
14-09-2003, 17:29
Man, it is a nice fighter though.

I am interested in it, if I can turn it into a carrier bound attack fighter.
14-09-2003, 17:34
Freedom Country, your engines are X-1000, not F.
14-09-2003, 19:18
no

they are F, and always have been F

Hmm... I don't see why not, so long as it doesn't go VTOL, I'm not looking for that sort of specs, but ESTOL should do, diverting 20% of the thrust from the first stage downwards to push the nose up and shorten the rolling distance. should adapt well to catapult launchings.

As to attack fighter, (FA?), where 2x 2000lb will fit, quite a few 500lbers, CBU rockeyes, FAEs or Hellfires should fit.

Give it another few days RL time before I unveil the next step, a few photos of a flying model and work out how many replacement pilots we'll need for full size testing.

Its so small!!!

Final full up size will be about the size of a F-22 or F-15 (I thnik)

for now they're just testbead models making sure we won't go through too many test pilots... the widows pensions do add up after a time...

Hey, umm, you realize 7463982 nations have used the X-36 pic before ^_^

Attican, he is developing his own you dumbass.

(Vulcan is 20mm, 1200rpm and 700 rounds in F-15). The Vulcan gun fires at 6000 rpm, not 1200.(at least with the electric motor model)

I agree with what Omz said, Calarca does fine work. If you need help, even monetary, the Republic of Adejaani will be looking to purchase some for testing and evaluation when it becomes available.
15-09-2003, 15:11
Well my new fighter, which is goin to be designated the MA-13, uses a chain gun that is meant to be on a helicopter, mounted on the side, adn encased.

Anyway, that is for an attack aircraft, not a fighter.
