Shing-lo Reveals new superweapon

13-09-2003, 02:52
ok, get this: we have discovered a new planet, and it has 12 moons. 3 of them are inhabitable, and we will us ethem as resorts and maybe sell one. the other ones we really dont care about, so we are mounting thrusters on them. if you make us angry (and you are the only nation on the planet, or the whole planet is annoying me) ill just shoot a moon off at you! the moon will strike your planets surface and probably break it in half (these moons are each about twice the size of earths moons, these arent little missles were talking about). if you are interested in buying one of these superweapons, contact us. 2 are for sale, and we have 1 inhabitable moon fo sale. the thruster are already attached to one moon (this is a very large project, we have put 6.2 trillion dollars into it so far... the propulsion is roughly that of six thousand spaceships) we have made the moons fast enough that even if they are blown up (somehow) most of the peices will keep moving enough to get through the atmesphere and rain firey death upon the people of this planet. if you launch them at Shing-Lo or earth we will have to stop you, however, because that would cause billions of deaths (in earths case) and my death (in shing-Lo's case), both of which are unnacceptable. you can contact us with the offerings for the moons. please specify superweapon or inhabitable.

well... i better et wunna these before anyone else does, huh? i'm thinking around like 30 trillion though, and i dont have that much... it must be nice to have no morals but a really good economy....

I dont know....kinda smell likes a godmod to me

naw. Shing-lo has the economy to back a project like this, and i'm selling them for one helluva lot of money. and if you want them in your system, yuo have to pay for the rocket fuel (think billions of dollars extra for that project) and im realeaing one moon for every 15 NS years (maybe every 20??) to make it more realistic. and you know that this is possible. name a waay it isn't, and ill revise it....

Wouldn't it take hundreds if not thousands of years to get to the target planet? And of course the kinetic energy needed to get something that weights quadrillions of tons is so massive I doubt that any amount of thrust human-created would be adequate to make it move out of orbit.

we have the help of alien technology, thankfuly. these are plasma engines (not normal plasma engines either). and just look at my region. im already there. heh.

nospace* technology.

Like wat Skept said, if today they think a nuke might be able to SHIFT an asteroid a couple millimeters, then the amount of force needed to get a body larger than earths moon flying fast enough into a planet is i think more than even 6k ships.

where i think its godmoding is the effect it would have IF u could get it to move that fast. something bigger than our moon smashing into the planet would tear the planet in half, which would be a major godmod. people complain nukes are godmod because of their such destructive effects, but a small planet smashin into you??

if i announce that i have them in advance, and then i spend (lets up it to 30) years and mybe 40 trillion, i should have a good moon-bullet. tell me real fults. i know this is possible. ill stick more (and more powerful) engines on it if need be.

and like i said. we have some special plasma technology (thank you protoss). for our engines. it makes them much more powerful (over 3x) than normal earth engines.

the problem is the effect this has when used. its like saying "ok, were at war, im shooting moon at you." which would completely decimate a planet. completely wiping out someones population is a godmod

[ooc: I don't recognize planet killers, or continent killers - even ICBMs are iffy.

Planet killers are very bad RP. Unless used as a plot device in CORP that doesn't involve blowing up a planet belonging to someone other than the owner of the planet killer.

Moving a planetoid that large would require seriously exotic tech. Controlled singularity, zero point energy, or more. You could bankrupt a solar-system wide empire with the cost of moving it.]

ok, hows this: The esteemed nation of Shing-Lo has decided to not do its moon-missle plan, as that would wipe out millions of innocents. We still want to get rid of the moons, however, so we are plitting them up into asteroids, some of which will form a protective barrier aroud the planet (nukes will hit them, ect) and the rest will be an adaptation of the original plan, asteroid-missles. these will have enough force to wipe out a battle cruiser, or enter an atmesphere and effectivley decimate half of a small city.

i like the protective barrier, it will keep nukes at bay, and it will also provide an interesting maze for attacking ships to get through. i guess we could also have asteroid-based military installations inside of fake asteroids hidden in the field as well...

still a godmod...? input welcome...

if you make that "barrier", i will bomb you with jesus.

your too young for battle ship killing space rocks. just scrap the plan

Meh, my superweapon is better. It strips hydrogen molocules from oxygen molocules, in a chain reaction.
The heat from the reaction ignites the hydrogen, which burns hotter from the oxygen. The reaction extends into living things (which contain water) and breaks up their water as well. The benifit is that all the planets resources arent scattered across your solar system, and you can set up a nice mining outpost and strip the planet in a few days.
And yes, for those DR fans out there, it is called the Dessicator.

As a space nation i say

SHUT UP N()()B

OR ILL SEND THE SUN TO MELT YOU

The nation of Taka is interested in the inhabital moon. . . no need to worry about moving it, our engeers will build fold generators on it to teleport it bit by bit to our homeworld. . . how much are you looking at taking for the habitable moon?

"too young"? i have some space nations backing me up with good tech... and its not too hard to tack trusters onto an asteroid...

a barrier intricate enough to cause hell for nukes and ships to get through must block out a lot of light as well
13-09-2003, 03:44
alright n00by, i have a 900 million space nation and i cant control a planet
13-09-2003, 08:27
so far i have not seen any well reasoned posts aginst using asteroids... i understand that the screen might block out light, so scratch that, we will just break up two moons to use for asteroid-projectiles.

its a small planet, maybe a little smaller than earth. and my economy can take up a world, easy.
