New Soldiers Heads Up display Unit!!!!

12-09-2003, 16:13
We have announced the completion and sale of our new Soldiers Heads Up Display units (SHUD units).

We recommend the SHUD system for ground troops.

http://www.fas.org/man/dod-101/sys/land/blps1.jpg

It may look like a pair of sunglasses, but instead it is a unique HUD unit for the modern soldier.

It gives data on ground position using GPS, a compass, a laser distancing system, NVG and IR mode and info on friendly unit positions.

And this isnt all in a bulky pack on the soldier. It is all fitted in a box on the back of the soldiers helmet, which is attached by wires to the goggles.

The glasses are made of shatter and scratch proof material, and is very hard wearing, and the whole kit is waterproof.

Now, the magic thing is, the box on the helmet contains a transmitter, which emits a signal to other SHUD units. This transmitter can be placed on any other friendly unit, and shows up as a big blue cross on a soldiers HUD. This informs the unit of where friendly units are, so he knows they are friendly.

The transmitter system can be placed in tanks or planes, so they too can see if other units are friendly or not.

All this in a compact package. A soldiers best friend.

.........Much like the Terminator HUD actually.

Think of it as real life Terminator vision......bot not red, unless you are James Bond.

cost: 4,000 usd EACH.

Bayorta is quite interested in this. We would like to purchase 10,000 for trials and testing.

(BTW: I assume these can be used against modern tech and not be considered a Godmod?)

Yeh

Its modern tech, and is kinda a simplified Land Warrior system.

Think of it as a RL computer game.

It uses modern stuff, like GPS, laser distancing, and IR and NVG.

Cant be godmod.

Well, if one of my soldiers were killed, couldn't the enemy then pick up the helmet, instantly know the location of everyone, and go around picking off my other soldiers that are tied into this system?

I would buy some but they look silly...and I spent all my money on genetic enginnering and milkshake
12-09-2003, 17:26
Okay, point taken.

I am going about version 2, so it includes a retinal scan.....

Anyway, its a sight only unit, so you have to be looking at the enemy, and be able to see him with your own eyes for it to work.

If the transmitter see detects a foreign object between it and another transmitter, it will not show up. This is to reduce Friendly Fire, not tell you where your temmates are. Unless you can see them, it doent show the blue cross.

Actallu, they look more like this:
