The Gorinikhai desert. Once a desolate wasteland, now built up into a simulation city. Prop people made of polymers stand frozen in the sidewalk. It looks to be a business paradise spannnig 3 miles.
A lone plane, passing over this fake city, will change all that.
It drops a lone object. It is elongated in shape, and it looks like a bomb, but it is too streamlined. It is the newest wave in Xexan weaponry.
The Shin-Rikai.
It hits the ground. Without warning, the city is attacked. But there is no sound. No nuclear fallout. Not even flame.
Just light.
Pure white light. It flies through the air. It swims through city streets and reaches to the edges of urbana.
It is light so pure, so focused...eveything it touches disintegrates.
*Another camera records the action. The sphere of light reaches 3 miles out. It stays lit, a beacon of pure destruction, for over 2 minutes.*
The Shin-Rikai is the newest weapon in the Xexan arsenal. It is not a bomb, not radioactive, not liquid. It is the first ever optic bomb. Its way of elimination is this light, which is so focused, it destroys anything it touches. The light is created by a chemical reaction between magnesium hydride and any noble gas (argon is preferred). When the two touch in small amounts, it creates a small sphere of light that can notch desks or put holes in a wall.
But when one half ton of each touch, disaster ensues.
*The sphere has burned out now. There is now a perfectly rounded-out crater...3 miles long. Nothing remains of the city.*
