Sambizie

Today the President of Sambizie, Mwto'ar Unganda announced in a closed session of the SSF Cabinet, that effective immediately, the nuclear arsonal of the Republic will be drastically redused along with several "supporting" departments.

It is the view and the goal of the Sambizie to one day be free of nuclear responsibility. The program will begin with the disarmourment of 20 "Peacekeeper" facilities. The LGM-118A Missiles will be transfered to a facility dedicated to the disarmourment process. In addition, Uranium mines 1 through 8 will be closed.

In today's world, the effects of 1 nuclear missile is no different than 100. The use of such weapons against any nation is a cowardly act.(OOC: and crappy RP) We have faith in our defensive capabilities and no longer need to utilize such weapons as a stratigic advantage. Over the course of the next 10 years, more weapons of the nuclear variance, will be dismantled. It is projected that within 20 years, Sambizie will be a "Nuclear Free" Nation.

Best wishes to all the leaders and citizens of the world, we wish you well.

OOC-Suprisingly, the 20th century has been one of the most peaceful in many areas of the world, due to the nuclear bomb. The only real point of having nuclear weapons is as a deterrent to any attack, so getting rid of most, not all, is a good step.
IC-We congratulate Sambizie in this endeavor. While our nation has only recently suffered the horrors of nuclear weapons, partial disarmarment is a good step towards a nuclear-weapon-free world.

Belem we appriciate your interest, but these weapons will not be for sale, they will be dismantled.

New Empire, we thank you for your support. As stated this is a "partial" disarmarment, We are specifically refering to the "First Strike" weaponary. Our subs, and silos will operate as a "Defensive" measure of last resort. Soon, even those will be decomissioned. It is hard to explain our decession, other than to say we have lost the appeal of nuclear weaponary and find it quit expensive to maintain. We have aquired better and more efficient means of "First Strike" capabilities. Nuclear weapons are more of an hinderance to our nation than they are useful. The money saved will no doubt go to better programs.

The President smiled in glee after receiving the Sambizie's intention to disarm their nuclear weapons. After a short while a message was delivered from New Genoa to Mwto'ar Unganda: "New Genoa praises our ally for their wise disarmament of nuclear weapons, and hope that one day the NationStates world will realize their fruitlessness and terror, and disarm also."

Emperor Roland smiled as he read what had been said.

My dear friend and brother , I understand your noble effort at this , however hard it may be , remember Elarians are a warrior race. While the Empire has no plans of disarming its nuclear capabilities we do understand Sambizie and their wishes. In any case your ally Elara has more than enough to aid you should an enemy arise that wishes to use such a weapon against you. To commend your efforts I send you a bottle of Elarian Ale to celebrate with. Heres to the future.

To our greatest of friends, the Republic of Sambizie. We applaud your decision to reduce your nuclear arsenals. We have never sought nuclear weapons and we think that this is one more step to making the world a safer place. My friends, we stand with you and we shall defend you to the last!
