Hundreds of protesters were arrested in Tyranax's capital city of Augustgrad today after a violent riot in which 19 were killed and atleast 200 others injured. The protesters took to the streets with bicycles and clogged up major roads preventing people from going to work. The protesters were supposedly protesting the harm done to the envronment from cars and called for a ban on all automobiles in Tyranax.
Police responded to the scene and began comphiscating bicycles and ordering the crowds to disperse. When the protesters refused to do so the police began using force to break up the crowd at which time the protesters started to riot. Reinforcements were called in and the riot was broken up with tear gas and beatings. The protesters were then rounded up and sent to a security facility outside the city.
Warlord Alexander DuGalle, Dictator of Tyranax, stated that he would not listen to the protesters' case as the Automobile Manufacturing Industry makes up the largest sector of the Tyranaxian economy. He has made it clear that he plans strict punishments for the protesters including the public execution of the protesters' leader, the purpose for this being to make an example for future protesters and to maintain order. Furthermore bicycles are now banned from major roads. In response to the riot DuGalle issued the following statement: "We cannot have these lunatics clogging the streets and interferring with our daily lives everytime they are dissatisfied with how things are being run, allowing that would lead to anarchy"
