"Today marks the start of a new age in Protoss history". Remarked High Counselor Tethradar Zantrius," These new facilities will allow us to enter the Plasma market with competetive prices, and give us the financial boost we need to become a truly powerful nation", he continued.
"This new Plasma production facility will allow us to create and sell up to 20,000 pieces of Plasma equipment every year, and with another factory currently under construction, we hope that this number will rise even more."
"The new technology will not currently be available to the public, with the exception of those who donated funds to make all of this possible. We will then extend this offer to those on the planet of Mars, and then we will consider selling them on to other nations. So, without further ado, I present to you the first of our creations, a prototype mobile Plasma Shield."
The Protoss unlocks a silver carrying case, and lifts up a small black box as if it was made of pure gold. The box it's self is larger than a human hand, yet smaller than a human head. It has several odd shaped pieces of metal sticking out, and a complex activation switch on the underside.
Mobile Plasma Sheild, Mk1
Dimensions: W= 13cm, H= 14cm, D= 13cm
Weight: 2kg
Worn on a belt or fixed to a combat suit, this advanced Protoss Plasma Shield can be programmed to regocnise certain genetic patterns, and will form a layer of Plasma energy that 'sticks' to the outer layer of the designated genetic pattern. For example, the default setting is 'Human', and as such, when worn and activated by a Human, a layer of Plasmatic energy will form around the outer layer of said Human, be it clothing, skin or even parts of a battle suit. However, this will not work with tanks and other such large vehicles. You could attach a Plasma shield to the crew, but if attached to the outside of the tank it would cover only the areas closest to the members of it's crew.
OOC: I do have a question, though. Having not been here very long, I'm unsure about the prices on such things. Would $5000 per shield be far too high? Or too low? Input needed.
