Last I checked, unrefined uranium goes for about $10/lb, so about $20,000 per ton.

Last I checked, unrefined uranium goes for about $10/lb, so about $20,000 per ton.that's for about 99% U238/1% U235, right?oh and TheLiberator, you need to specify isotope percentages.

07-09-2003, 17:05
you don't do anything.Just U235 is the radioactiv eisotope used in nukes.Natural uranium would have only about 1%; if you refien it it costs more but there is more U235, and it creates depleted uranium as a by-product.You really should use a searhc engine to fidn soem stuff about this.

You're not going to get many (if any) customers because you're so young, and you're peddling uranium.

"no one cares for uranium anymore!"

Thats might be closer to the truth than you realise, most people will likely have had the issue at soem point and then there are those of us who don't officially use nuclear amterial.

Selling raw uranium might not be the best way to go but offering it in a finished state of some description (say ready formed into DU rounds in popular round sizes) might help, this is the sort of "value add" actions that the real money is amde from in the world.

OOC: actually with the rate of development of technology here in NS people are less inclined to use Uranium in any form or fashion. It is just way too volitile to work on just as a powersource or as a crude weapon. Indra Prime has our own mines for it and we don't use it currently for anything. It just serves as a paperweight right now. I can imagine that most other countries are like that as well. Try to find something unique and research it until you can come up with a working prototype and then you may be able to get out into the open market. just a bit of advice.

That's too true. The Uranium issue comes up pretty often. I decided to "bulldoze" the forest when I first got the issue, (32 million) and since then have been mining it until I reached 500 mil. So it is safe to say that I have "TONAGE"...It is begining to cost more to store than it was to mine. Heck for awhile, I was giving it away...and even that was difficult.

If you wan't to sell it faster..You should take Crookfur's advise...make some kind of weapon out of it or "present" it other than raw.
