The Commonwealth of Xanthal used special forces and XIA operatives from several sections, including section one, to disable the Holy Empire's military and take over the government with minimal human casualties. When the XMI asked for an explanation of it's government's actions, the Commonwealth government explained that it had need of several resources that the Talmaraan system could provide, including Cliossan gas; a resource known only to be available naturally in the Talmaraan system. After over a year of fruitless negotiations with the uncooperative Talmaraan system government and an ever rising demand for resources including Cliossan gas, the Xanthalian government made the decision to take control of the system and claim it's resources as it's own. The Xanthalian government has assured the international community that the citizens of the former Holy Empire will be well treated as citizens of a Xanthalian territory.
