Harbinger Cannon

In the development stages for over a decade, the Harbinger cannon is finally finished. Capable of launching 15 Harbinger warheads a minute, this cannon can make any planet a practically impregnable fortress.

Powered by by fusion reactors buried beneath the surface of the planet the energy is sent to the cannons by direct beam. The cannons can reload after a shot in only four seconds, enabling them to decimate entire fleets in mere minutes.

Stationed in groups of 20, they maintain a geo-synchronous orbit above the planet and protect it from almost any threat.

The Harbinger Warhead

Fusion bomb surrounded by 3 salted fission bombs; propulsion unit is a half-size version of a regulation Klonor fighter thruster (Class II); given the weight of the payloads, the missile is slow despite the power of the thruster; as the Harbinger is exceptionally large, Klonor fighters and bombers are limited to carrying 2 of these weapons at any given time; the resultant shock wave from this weapon is potentially deadly, due to the size of the payloads (5000 Mt in total); use near allied installations or allied ship groupings is strongly discouraged by the GA; most effective when used in preemptive defensive strike against non-military installations.

can I buy one?
Klonor

Sure, but one wont do much (the enemy fleet can just move to the other side of the planet and blow stuff up at will.)

And it will be really expensive. Every shot costs more than 5 billion

OOC: 5000 megatons? Even with fusion, that would be a HUGE and MASSIVE weapon. Good luck hitting anything with it...good luck even getting close to hitting anything with it.

Ooh, this sound good, can I have 60?

Sorry, but no. These guns are going to be the main defense of my shipyard and bases, and I can't risk anyone finding a weakness.

And it would still cost you a fortune even if I did, since it would still cost you more than 5 billion every time you shoot it.

That's the point, it's my nations version of the modern day Atomic bomb, a weapon of massive destruction capability that we use only as a last resort (You'll see I've only used it once in my entire RP history, and even then it was only in an attempt to prevent the destruction of an entire star system)

That will cost many many trillions.

Should a weapon of such destructive force fall into the hands of a rogue nation... the consequences would be terrible. Be careful who you sell this to. While this was made as a defensive weapon, it could easily be transformed into an offensive weapon.

Just be careful.

I have made sure that I only sell Harbinger bombs (never the plans) to nations that have shown that they are not likely to use it. The fact that each bomb costs 5 billion has really lowered the amount of customers.

And these cannons are very bad for use as an offensive weapon. They are incapable of independant movement, and would thus have to be towed into firing position. Also, the fusion reactors are the size of most modern day capital ships. I doubt they could be moved with any hope being used effectively.

Klonor

Sorry, no discount. And for every shot that you want it will cost another 5 billion.

So, right now you have 10 trillion dollars worth of empty guns.
