De Wit Miitary Industries, in conjunction with the National Defense Research Agency, has released for general sale the new M-3A2 Sabra Main Battle Tank, after extensive testing and full deployment to our own military.
The M-3A2, while looking identical on te exterior, boasts an entirely new interior set up.
The most important advance in the tanks new systems is a new fire control system. It utilizes advanced thermal imaging system, coupled with an uplink to recon sattelites and manned and unmanned recon aircraft, so as to paint as complete a picture of battlefield terrain and enemy disposition as possible.
All tanks are GPS and IVCS equipped. The Inter-Vehicle Communication System allows communication between all other vehicles, and command posts, all the way up to the Corps level, linking together literally thousands of vehicles. Thus, unit commanders can coordinate any action with other vehicles in their unit on the fly, creating broad room for the necessary impovisation on the battlefield. Soldiers can recieve instructions from their commanders on the other side of the earth via com sattelite uplink.
Also, the IVCS system keeps track of the vehicles fuel and ammo suply, automaticaly alerting the nearest support units for resupply when stocks run low. This system has been in use with the US military for several years, and De Wit is now using a new, more user friendly version.
The other new system is an automatic reloader for the main gun, a scaled down version of a design used by the navy. This system reloads the main cannon, a 120mm smooth bore, within 1.5 seconds of fireing, allowing fore both more precise, more rapid fire, and for the removal of the fourth crewman.
The tanks armor is the venerable Chobham armor employed by the US M-1 series Abram tanks, which proved to be nearly invincible after full combat use in two Gulf Wars. No losses to tanks were taken from frontal shots, and tanks were only disabled, with the crew surviving, after close shots from behind. The armor on our tank is just as secure.
The M-3A2 Sabra has the folowing specs:
Crew: 3 (Commander, Gunner, Loader)
Top Speed: 60 miles per hour
Armament: Main gun, smooth bore 120mm
Coaxial mount 7.62mm machine gun, fires armor piercing rounds
Pintle mounted Mk19 Automatic Grenade Launcher, in front of the gunners hatch atop the turret
Pintle mounted M-240G 7.62mm machine gun, in front of the commanders hatch atop the turret, for anti-personnal work
Price: 90,000 per tank
The IVCS system is being sold independlently, so as to be installed in your own vehicles, at 1,500 a piece.
