The most cost-efficient way to build a new rifle was to redesign the old good M1, and this was done by Pietro Beretta SPa. New gun, designated as Beretta BM59, was adopted in 1959 and served with Italian, Indonesian and Marocco armies. It should be noted that earliest BM59s were manufactured from available M1 parts, including rechambered barrels. In the late 1980s BM59 was rplaced in Italian service with Beretta AR70/90 assault rifles.

Basically, the BM59 can be described as re-chambered M1 Garand, with addition of the removable 20 rounds magazine and select fire trigger. Another addition was a flash-hider of NATO-standard diameter, which also served as a rifle grenade launcher. To launch grenades, one must turn on gas cut-off valve by raising grenade front sight, mounted on the gas block. If it will not be done, the excessive gas pressure will damage the rifle. BM59 is a gas operated rifle, with gas chamber and gas piston located under the barrel. Chamber locks by the rotating bolt with two massive lugs. Fire mode selector/safety switch is located at the front of the triggerguard, charging handle is attached to the gas rod and reciprocates during the fire cycyle.

not really, maybe if you said one in particular I would be able to get a comparision for you.

(BTW Ercolana is my WW2 era puppet  )

well i missed the "lower armored deck" part....but the Nelsons had 6.32" armor though, which would compare favoribly to your Rudolfos i think ...

Anyways, thanks for the input I've been working on these things all night, mixing and matching and adding stuff.

no probelm...of course i shouldn't talk about deck armor when my battleships are copies of English WWI Dreadnoughts with 0.25" armor ;) a single well-placed shell and BOOM! :(

A lot of Ercolana's military tech is more in line with Walmington's, I think, than some of the other (potential/) combatants in the war. Our piston fighters would probably be better matched against each other than mine against the Asians' or German Fw 190s and such, or yours against late model Iansislian efforts.

Glad to see WoS hasn't been the only one of us yet to get a jet into active service, too.

Military staff here are a little concerned by the heavy bomber- we still lack one of our own. Sadly the devistating potential (offensively or as a threat) hasn't quite dawned in Walmy as yet.

Your B-33 rifle has surely to be amongst the best standard infantry weapons going in our time frame. It's really a whole different standard of thinking to that which prevails in Walmington.

(I know this is a bit late- I did try to post once a few days ago, but the damn forum kept crapping out on me)

The Semovente da 149/40 i don't like the look of (that is to say ..i sort of do, and thus wish you didn't have). The other SPGs I am familiar with (God knows how), and was rather expecting to see you issue at some point. The 149/40 modello 35- what bore is that? I wondered if it was..well, 149mm, but it doesn't look it. I'm a bit worried about that as a tank-killer. In confined areas it has the usual drawbacks of a turretless vehicle, but in deserts or such..as may be found in north Africa... :(
I really don't think we have anything to counter with.

The armoured car..it looks quite sleek, actually. I'm glad they're not usually battle-winners, as WoS's is a little less well profiled, and, though it comes in three marks, most are less powerfully armed.

I suppose when its considered that Iansisle has only previous generation WoS tanks and only very recently received the first modern ones, and Calarca has only armoured cars, yours has potential as..an armour killer, never mind a scout as such vehicles are employed by WoS.

(sorry If i'm rambling - no fully IC post right now- i'm at the end of my fourth pint, so being dignified is just starting to seem like a hassle. By the time I finished an IC post Mainwaring would be blaming America and threatening to take the Panama canal again ;) )

The ones Ercolana uses are 149 mm, Italy primarily used that size as well, but I couldn't find a good picture of it.

(heh - I just noticed this thread.

Erc - or Ag, I suppose? - I'm just wondering where your naval asssets tend to be concentrated. I've still got a battlefleet somewhere between Ascension Island and Trinidad...just wanted to know if I should be worried ;))

Well the major portions of my fleet are in Ercolana itself, I have a large stockpile in Gallaga as well (which I think is under attack right now) and ships are running in between Erc and Karachi constantly to take out merchant vessels.

Do you think it is too fast...as in godmodding, because its pretty comparable to other WWII Subs? Or were you just commenting as the primary target of its torpedos??

and I have an AA vehicle up.. I am enjoying not having the US in this Rp...

As Ercolana: It's ww2 tech...Maybe if you were involved in the RP (and on the Axis side) I would do it, but I think I need all the ships I can get for an all out war like this.

As Agrigento: If you are interested in cheap aircraft carriers, modern tech, Telegram me.
