Im not going to say this thread is good because it has been stated before many times. Personally, I think that the thread is great but see, no one will read it and the newbies will still be noobs. You went through a lot of trouble thats for sure, but in the end it will prove fruitless. Im sorry but thats the truth. If [violet] could just hurry and put a cap on the game a not have new memebrs sign up and also delete a few individuals (no names mentioned here), then the game would be improved. June 15th is when the forums got bad, and yes it really is sad and has driven many members to quit. I think im going to start a Role Players club and even put myself through RPU just to try and improve the game that much. But good job...

This was typed in AMFs (greatly needed) thread.

The essential quality of most of the RPs I have seen around lately are horrible. I'm ashamed most of the time to be even reading some of these threads. Its really sad how someone thinks they need 5milllion troops every battle and thinks that they can transport them all to another nation in less than 10 dropships...

Even the basics are not being role played! Just to list a few of what im talking about:
1)Troop training
2)Trade
3)Treaties
4)Sales/Buying (I know there are shops out there but everyone claims to build their own stuff)
5)Diplomatic crisises
6)Elections (If you have them)
7)Sales of essential items such as food
And many other things that should be role played

Magically, nations can pop out of nowhere with things (such as weapons) that they have never bought (have no posts showing that they did) and did not RP building their stuff. And it scares me but also makes me think, was I like that when I started? Was I really that bad? I get the same answer, no. Back then, people were more polite, the RPs were a HELL of a lot better, everyone was willing to help eachother, and the words "godmodding" and "n00b" were not popular.

Now, everyone and their mother is a godmodding n00b. Why can't people just accept if their nation gets attacked instead of arguing it for 4 pages? I mean, you can have people help rebuild you and you should be here to have fun and role play, not to win and kill. Most people play this game to HAVE FUN. And thats what newbies dont remember.

Newbie-A new player that asks questions about the game and how it works, that wants to play the game right and have some fun. This player will ask for help and ask question like "What is a thread?" and "How much money do I have?". This continues. Eventually, newbie nation cant take it and goes crazy and turns into and "arcel". Whos fault you ask? That june nation (or an older nation that wont be helpful im not trying to pick on june in particular i just notice a lot of RGGA memebers doing that).
n00b A noob is not someone that runs around saying "I n00k j00 9123479 times!!!!!!!! A noobs is a complete and total clueless fool (does not have to be a new nation) that doesnt even want to learn how to play and ends up ruining role playing for everyone.

Back on topic, I am starting a Role Players Organization. It is for more experienced nations that can role play good. We will fight wars against eachother, have diplomatic talks and many other things that will allow us to have FUN!. Don't come and post and say "Can I join?". I want you to type up a small paragraph or page role playing your nations leader giving a speach to the people after a recent bombing, invasion whatever of you nation. If it is approved, you will be accepted.

(Note: I want this to be big but also i want it to be good. Being in the Organization doent mean you are detached from the rest of the world, it just means that on occasion, we will have some good RPs.)

(MORE IMPORTANT NOTE: IF YOU SEE AN ENEMY OF YOURS IN THE ORGANIZATION, DONT LEAVE AND SAY AW FORGET IT, HES IN THERE. I have tried in vain to try and roleplay the simpler things, trade, treaties, international conferences and the like and they all seem to die. I realize that my current nation is new, but I have prior experience and like the alternate forms of RPing. I know that I RP a futuristic nation, but we are isolationist and don't get out much. Plus I don't try to break out a 500 ship star fleet, and I am trying to build up my armed forces but when you post things like that people just say waste of space, spam, etc. So many people have just gotten tired of the hassle and quit, and I'm getting to the point to where I'm thinking of quitting again.
But I do like the simpler and more intriguing internal and external affairs, so could I please come in?

I'd join, I'm not the best RPer per se, but I at least don't god-mod. I don't like the 64890737609834 cruise missiles crap, but it seems everyone's countermeasures are ABOVE 95% ACCURATE!.

Well put. When people do post the essential things now, they do die and turn to spam. I too dislike space anything exept my weather sattalites :) . I know that the reason of the "Tech Periods" is to provide alternative RP experiences (Like space, 2399 and future etc) but it turns into people breaking out with super space destroyers and shit like that. But what pisses me off the most is when a nation will say it is current tech and have starships and fancy space lasers. Please note that modern tech is spy and weather sattelites.

Paris: Comrades, today is a very sad day indeed. Early this morning in what can only be described as an act of terrorism and blatant murder a van filled with explosives detonated itself infront of an elementary school in downtown Talaaxia. The explosion tore through the school yard while the children were at recess, killing nearly 100 children and leaving many more wounded.
We are not sure who exactly is behind this murderous act of treason, but rest assured comrades, we will find him. We will not allow anyone to take away our children! To take away the future of our nation! This murder will not go unpunished! The lives of our precious children will be avenged.
In light of these tragic events I have declared one week of national mourning and state funerals for all the victims of this attack. We urge anyone who may have information about the murderers to please come forward. The blood of our children and tears of our people will not be in vain. We will have justice. Be strong comrades. If not for Talaax, then for the children. Thank You.

aww, come on. i didn't see the real question at first glance. look at my posts - i don't pick on new players (however you wish to call them). i glanced at it, and honestly thought it was a spam/drunkhigh post.

Hmm indeed... we'll I'll have a go at it. I don't reall have a plot in my head right now, but here I go.


President Ludum ground the Cigar between his lips, he was not amused. The embargos against his country were ruining Artitsa. The thought of attacking the blockaiding ships passed through his mind, but alas, the cost would be to high. If he attacked those ships it would be all out war, and in no way could his nation support a war at this point in time. He was so lost in thought he didn't hear the Adjacent enter. "Sir?" the small man stated rather sheepishly. "Sir? I have news." he ventured. "Hmm? Why do you trouble me now Corey, can you not see I am deep in concentration. Make it brief" Ludum stated flatly. "Well Sir, it seems Zossen has declared war on our most holy of nations." It took a moment for the news to sink in, and when it did, it hit hard. Ludum stood and walked to the window and peered out over the collapsing industry of his nation. He sighed deeply, "Mobilize the Tank Corps, we'll catch them in the mountains. Get on the horn and find out who we have backing us that we can trust. Make sure all the nearby countries pleased with us, we don't want this becoming a 3 on 1 Corey. Unless we're part of that three." The President dropped his cigar and stamped it out.

I agree with the ideas here, I'm for people playing what there country says e.g. you are not eco concious in a barren wasteland.
Supporting Liberty when things are outlawed or unheard of, just to get the quick frightning economy.
Im slowly getting my economy up and still have Stunning nation because I wanted to be Eco-minded.

The smoke still rises over Bonstock's smoldiering capital, Port Yuko. In her first trip to Port Yuko since Dark Terror's bombing campaign, Bonstocknian President Hu Li walks up to what is to become a memorial park to the 5 million Bonstocknians killed in the Dark Terror bombing raid. She is reminded about her role in the destruction of the Kalaash Uprising 7 years earlier. Port Yuko looked exactly like this that terrible day. But it rebuild, as she knew it would again. Crews from Maropian Coast had already rebuilt the Port Yuko International Airport, and it is opened to traffic. They are about to rebuild the downtown, heavily damaged in the bombing. It will be known now to build samrter public housing. So much packed housing right next to a military port spelled death for 5 million people, most of them recent immigrants without money. It was a massacre. Yet Bonstock's projects would be rebuilt defferently, not as filthy, crowded places - a fire waiting to happen, especially with hundreds of JDAMs raining on it. The memorial park would be deticated to all Bonstocknian dead, and groundbreaking was just about to start. Hu Li went to the podium.

"Fellow Bonstocknians, we are today compelled to try to rebuild our beloved capital. With help from Maropian Coast and Stockbon, our airport has been rebuilt. But we shall not let Dark Terror do this again. He has spread propaganda that his forces are invincible. We have proved him wrong, though he fails to admit it. And since he fails to admit this, we are going to cut off all diplomatic relations with that country (ooc: this means ignoring him). His JDAMs and MOABs struck the heart of our city, killing millions, mostly innocent civilians, recent immigrants to Bonstock; refugees from war-striken nations, and people fleeing poverty in totalitarian nations. They were killed in cold blood by a nation without morals who does not even concede defeat. He will bomb us and ignore the consequences. This will be answered by us harshly. Bonstock is now trying to join a coalition of older nations bent on making the world sane again, taking war back to the times of the White Tundra war (ooc: late June, very good RP, Driesden invaded White Tundra and Bonstock aided in defense of that nation, though we were bad RPers at the time. It was a nice trial by fire experience and I came out knowing how to RP). We sahll join this coalition to prevent Bonstock from ever suffering this fate at the hands of cowards like Dark Terror. Thank you, and goodnight. May Bonstock rebuild as it has before, and may we naver suffer this again."

The President walked away as crowds cheered.

GeForce, this isn't technically a combat RP, and I hope you like it. It's one of my major RPs from the Fyreheartian civil war/rebellion (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=53058&postdays=0&postorder=asc&start=0), and one of my personal favorites.

Other stuff about me: I'm slowly developing some weapons systems (I have three, currently), have bought most of my military assets (I keep track of stuff with an Excel file with all of my armed forces, my budgeting, etc.), and have RPed minor roles in two engagements, one currently going: Nimbatan Vietnam-ish civil war (http://www.nationstates.net/forum/viewtopic.php?t=60285), where we've only deployed a small part of our forces. It's coming out pretty nicely, imho. (My involvement starts around page 8. One of my posts got messed up by the clock bug, and is right AFTER the Nimbatan reply to it, and right before my counterreply. In my opinion, it's being RPed well, but judge for yourself (Nimbata hasn't decided whether he's going to let Bonstocks carpet bombing go))


So without further ado (or something like that...):

[Current situation: Fyreheart is experiencing widespread protests in the diplomatic sector of the city, where Ferrussia's Embassy is located. When rebellious military assets of Fyreheart start actually taking over small parts in the diplomatic sector, Ferrussia is responding by evacuating the embassy personnell and setting up defenses in the event that rebel forces start attacking.]

IC: At the Ferrussian Embassy...

3 EA-24G Special Forces helicopters swooped down onto the roof of the Ferrussian Embassy, escorted by 5 A-14 Ground support craft. As 54 men jump out, the ambassador runs out, with 5 of the men returning for escort.

"We hate to do this during the day, you know," said the Spec-Ops commander.

"Well you came just in time," said the ambassador. "Rogue troops are taking over the city as we speak."

The remaining helicoptors are filled with the some of the higher Embassy staff (the lower staff are staying to maintain the embassy's duties), and munitions, supplies, etc. for the troops now occupying the embassy are unloaded.

"We need to establish a defense immediately. We can expect anything from rioters to full blown armed troops, so I think we need to deploy the land mines we brought."

"Sir, are you sure you want to do that?"

"Take a look outside, Private. There are rogue forces taking over parts of the city, and protesters are lining every diplomatic street in sight. Our orders are to defend our embassy and the soverign soil it rests upon. I fully intend to do that."

As two men start setting up land mines in the once beautiful lawn of the embassy, the mounted machine guns are set up in all available windows. Desks are overturned, and the Spec-Ops do their best to turn the embassy into a veritable fortress. Snipers set up on top, and the helicopters prepare to take off.

One of the protesters, bearing a sign with the words "Reform NOW", calls out to one of the privates.

"You guys are setting up machine guns!? What are you going to do, mow us down!? How can you do such a thing!"

"Ma'am, we're only trying to protect ourselves," explained the private.

"From what? Or are you just trying to help that... that [i]thing they call the government around here?" The protesters around her started nodding approval and taking interest in this little development.

"There are rogue forces all over the city, and other embassies have already been attacked. We need to be prepared, so we can defend ourselves."

"So you're going to override the will of the Fyreheartian people just so you can keep your little embassy and keep helping the monsters in the government? I demand to be let in at once to talk to your ambassador!" There was quite a crowd gathering already.

"I'm sorry, but I can't do that, ma'am. We've been ordered to close the embassy due to the risk to security. Not to metion, the ambassador's leaving right now." He pointed to the helicoptors on the roof, although only the rotors were visible from here.

"It's my right as a citizen of my country! You must open the doors to international freedom! Open the doors! Open the doors!" The rest of the crowd quickly picked up the chant, and pressed against the metal fence harder and harder.

"People, I need you to stop! Everybody calm down!" screamed the private in vain. His shouts were drowned out by the chants of "Open the doors! Open the doors!"

The two privates retreated into the embassy just as the people managed to kick in the metal gate. The big, wooden doors of the embassy slammed shut, and the protesters marched defiantly across the embassy lawn, touting signs and screaming "Open the doors! Open the doors!"

The lady who started the riot walked self-importantly in front, a few feet in front of the crowd, who rallied behind her like she was some kind of general.

And then disaster struck.

As the helicopters began to lift off, the lady in front suddenly exploded in bits of rock and blood. She had stepped on one of the land mines placed just a few minutes before. The crowd, suddenly in shock, made a general surge backwards for a few seconds. Some left, screaming in horror, while the rest suddenly took it as an attack and charged the embassy doors.

"Hold your fire!" shouted the Spec-Ops commander. "For goodness sakes, hold your fire!"

Some in the crowd, upon reaching the doors, started pounding it with their fists or any rocks they could find. Small rocks were thrown at the second- and third-story windows, where machine gunners trained their guns onto the crowd, ready to fire on command. The tension in the air was high. Everything was happening too fast.

A man in the middle of the crowd unzipped a guitar case to reveal a Stinger missile launcher, ready to fire. He kept it concealed as long as possible, then suddenly shouldered and fired it at one of the departing helicopters.

All three roof snipers shot at him at once, through the head. His head exploded in a shower of blood and skull. Three or four people behind him fell as the bullets continued through, hitting them as well. The entire crowd ducked at the near-simultaneous missile launch and gunshots, and suddenly, towards one side of the lawn, five people were suddenly and violently thrown upwards by another land mine detonation. Some were missing legs or arms, and the screaming victims landed on the rest of the crowd.

In shock, some of the men in the crowd pulled out their hand guns. One pointed it momentarily at one of the machine gunners and reflexes from years of training kicked in: the machine gunner opened fire. The man with the gun fired his gun as he fell back, the bullets soaring upwards. One shot penetrated one of the EA-24 helicopters above: the one with the ambassador and family. The bullet, with lethal coincidence, struck the ambassador's 7-year-old daughter somewhere in the chest. She screamed out in pain.

In the embassy, the confused commander (who had just heard several munitions firing and explosions, and had no view of the outside) shouted, "Open fire! Open fire!" Soon over six machine guns were firing at the dazed, panicking crowd. People screamed, and fled the embassy grounds.

The helicopters deployed chaff and flares, and successfully avoided the Stinger missile, and the A-14s launched their own counter attack, not yet seeing that the crowd was fleeing. 5 air-to-ground missiles were fired instantaneously at the crowd as all 5 A-14s reacted to the Stinger. The fleeing crowd suddenly found themselves caught between machine gun fire from behind and missile explosions in front.

The commander, realizing suddenly he was firing on (for the most part) unarmed Fyreheartian civilians, screamed as loud as he could into the radio. "CEASE FIRE CEASE FIRE!!!! GADDANGIT, CEASE FIRE!!!"

But the damage was done.

42 people were dead, and over 100 injured. The Premier made an announcement less than 25 minutes after the incident, calling it a "tragically unforseeable accident," and a "worst case scenario of human error and miscommunication." He noted that "blame rests on neither side, this was an unfortunate tragedy indeed."

The ambassador's daughter is in critical condition, and is not expected to live through the night.

(BTW, I have a Premier not because I'm a communist nation, which I'm not, but because it's based (as far as names, places, and culture) more or less on Russia, hence the name.)

In the shadowy palace, a dimly-lit figure stirs on an elaborate throne. His eyes glance carelessly across the monitor before him. A magnificently gloved hand reaches out of the shadows to the intricate Central Control Console and presses the button marked, "Dictation".

"The Evil Overlord does not make speeches."

There is a momentary pause as the Autocrat of Armageddon thinks over his choice of words, then the magnificently gloved hand presses the button marked, "Transmit".

Citizens.

Today is a day of dark news for our country.

Today, we’ve learned that three of our citizens – young people – have been taken captive by a foreign government.

The Nation of Tuttsville has seized these children – not for a crime, no. They kidnapped them to be slaves.

Let me state that again. The Nation of Tuttsville has taken Wolfish citizens to be slaves to that evil empire.

This is a grave situation.

Over night, I sat with my advisors in my Situation Room, seeking an alternative – seeking an option.

As the sun rose over the harbour – I called our Ambassador to Tuttsville – the Honourable Scott Hollier, and asked for his opinion.

Friends, your government has run out of option.

At every turn, the leadership of Tuttsville has lied, has inflamed, and has threatened.

Our young citizens are in grave danger.

But this is a larger issue.

Since this situation developed, I’ve learned that slavery is common practice is Tuttsville.

What’s worse – is that the people of Tuttsville do not know that this evil routinely happens in their country.

[PAUSE]

This great nation of Wolfish has had its share of troubles.

Together we have weathered two civil wars.

But – standing side-by-side we have built this country – we have repaired the damage – and we have become stronger for our hardship.

But now, events are forcing our attention beyond our borders – half way across the Great Sea to a nation that has never troubled us before.

But they trouble us greatly now.

[PAUSE]

Some of you may know that the Presidential desk which sits in my office was carved from a single piece of lumber – harvested from the Great Forest that once covered this land where we now stand.

But you may not be aware that the gifted craftsman that carved the desk also carved an inscription onto the surface.

He wasn’t asked to do this – in fact, if the legend is right our first President James Camden was quite put out.

But the inscription remains clear to this day.

It reads, “The evil of the world is made possible by nothing but the sanction you give it. The spread of evil is the symptom of a vacuum.

Whenever evil wins, it is only by default: by the moral failure of those who evade the fact that there can be no compromise on basic principles.”

Friends there is an evil in the world tonight – a great evil that has hurt our country – but more than that – this evil permeates this society to its very core.

We cannot allow this evil to win. Our moral failure – our lack of basic principles is the only thing that can defeat us.

Ladies and Gentlemen, tonight, following my speech to the United Nations and the great leaders of the world, I have invoked the War Measures Act against the nation of Tuttsville.

I have issued orders that Battle Groups 2, 4, 5, 6, and 9 of the Wolfish Navy sail immediately to Tuttsville.

The remainder of the fleet will sail shortly.

This is the first step in forcing the government of Tuttsville to renounce its evil ways.

Our ships will begin an immediate and total blockade of Tuttsville of all non-humanitarian shipments.



No product or cargo will leave that country.

The Wolfish Airforce is also on high alert, and our Army and Marines are preparing for action if needed.

I am also calling up the Wolfish Reserve force of 100,000 citizen-soldiers to prepare for a defense of our nation should it become necessary.

Last night in the Situation Room – I didn’t tell you what my advisors told me.

They told me this was a fools fight – that teenagers were not worth the possibility of war – that many more would lose their lives if I followed this road.

I asked them…I asked them - if we don’t act who will? Who will stand up to evil and defend the principles that this nation is founded upon?

How could I – the leader of a free and great people – rest in my bed while others were shackled to walls?

Tonight we go to war – for the four – for ourselves – to fill this vacuum.

[this is a continuation of the "conflict" i have with the Belmore family. basically - they wanted a wargame, we accepted. they made a pitiful naval attack, then a paratrooper dropping of 10000 that was anihilated. they sent bombers to support the paras (who were mostly dead). we already had fighters in the area, so belmore said that the bombers were making kamikaze runs on our capital. 'twas bad godmodding, but whatever.] [belmore's forgotten about this war, and what I say isn't IC happening, so casualty counts of the enemy are allowed (?)]

The Moroz Peninsula, Berëza -

Henceforth officially called the Battle of Moroz, the anihilation of 10000 Belmore paratroopers by 3 mechanized infantry, 2 armor, and 2 airborne divisions had reached its conclusion. Of the original 10000, about 400 survived, and 30 were uninjured. The rest were burned to varying degrees by 1.5 million pounds of napalm and fragmenting cluster bombs, while about a kilometer square of the barren tundra of the Moroz peninsula was charred black. While the Berëzan capital of Stolichnaya was recovering from an en masse kamikaze attack, the uninjured Belmore survivors were being loaded into wide and low-slung Berëzan BPT-1 armored personnel carriers. 4 to an APC, with a heavily armed guard for each. Several helicopters were ferrying the wounded and burned to the NFB Shaov, a frigate with good medical facilities.

A light snow was falling, covering up the charred circle and the remains of the Belmore paratroopers that had not survived. Pushing his coat collar up higher as a gust of wind blew over the snow, Captain Nikolai Monastirskiy realized that if any dead were to be recovered from the battle, they would have to hurry. Snows in the Moroz peninsula were usually light, but lasted a long time and never melted. He turned around. "Gena, Grisha!" Two 1st Lieutenants looked up. "Get the cleanup people to hurry up." He gestured at the light gray sky as they nodded, walking off to their subordinates.

A communique approached and handed him a sheet of paper, walking off without saluting. Monastirskiy glanced at it before stuffing it into one of the 12 pockets on his officer's winter coat. The estimates of Belmore casualties was 9500, with about half of the remainder not expected to survive. Berëzan casualties of the same battle were 2 pilots, and one more seriously injured. Two planes and one helicopter were lost.

He stamped the ground impatiently, waiting for news of the attack on Stolichnaya. The commanding officer of a company of mechins surveyed the scene around him. Ahead was a very large formation of Berëzan tanks, almost all T-64's, dark gray/green from not having been repainted. Nearly 3000 tanks were parked in sloppy rows, their crews milling aound them. To his left was an even larger gaggle of about 7000 APC's, except it was divided into groups of APC's in a circle, with tents in the middle. Behind him were the prisoner convoys being assembled. He spotted some of the remaining Belmore paratroopers. The prevalent expression among them was bitter disappointment, though there were some that remained stolid and defiant, and some that were breaking down. One glared at him as he was practically carried (his arms and legs handcuffed) into an APC.

The sky darkened, then lightened again as the snow intensified. Besides the huge, ugly, black, smoldering circle to his right, the world around him was fading into the dark white that characterized much of the Berëzan environment. In time, the snow would cover even that.

Here I go... I'll try to make some stuff up as I go. Spontaneous: It's dot com! Evrything about training is true, so whenever there is a conflict and I say "All of my people at age 21 have been through basic training," you'd know I wasn't lying.

Military commander Burundi was standing in the control room of Hurid Mountains Military Training Center (HMMTC), looking at the progress of the new recruits. HMMTC is a place where advanced military training takes place, especially for commandoes, snipers and ST-9 pilots. The recruits came from Zecro Central Defense Corps (ZCDC) from their mandatory 1-year basic training at age 20 after stating they had an interest in continuing their military education.
Burundi took a good look at the camara focused on Private Grohn, the newest addition to the Sniping crew. He was looking for improvements in the private's reloading technique and his positioning in his hiding spot. Grohn had not made much progress with a sniper rifle in his first few days at HMMTC. He was actually able to hit targets within a few meters. And he was also less visible in hiding. But as Burundi looked on, he noticed that Grohnwas reloading slowly. He wrote "slow reload rate" in his notebook and made a mental note to shoot him with a paintball while he was reloading.

We would like to join and we are confident that our standards are more than up to the level required. Our nation has also encouraged realism by monopolising the sealift ship industry. (before we brought one out people's stuff used to appear from nowhere no ive noticed it comes on ships). Nearly every nation in the organisation has some time or other posted about their EA-24 helicopters which are another creation of our great nation. The following RP is kand of a combat one, sorry but the idea just came to me and then i wanted to write about it:


Elias State News Channel

“In a graphic home video found at the scene that has now been released to us, the dramatic assassination attempt on the Foreign Minister this afternoon is documented in frightening detail:”

Picture flicks to a grainy image of a street corner, it points across to an intersection in central Abdullah, two cars swing around the corner, the first a Mercedes S-class and following a Chevrolet Suburban both in black. The cameraman yells something and above him a window shatters and a rocket propelled grenade streaks toward the lead car, but hits the ground just in front of it, blowing the armour plated front off the car completely and sending the rear half spinning out of control. The camera drops, lying on its side but still facing in the direction of the cars. The former cameraman reaches for a sub machine gun and sprays wildly as six agents start jumping out of the suburban returning fire with 9mm handguns. The two terrorists in the window above having dropped the RPG tube launcher shoot their rifles taking down two agents, as the rest of them crouch behind their car which is quickly becoming bullet riddled. Two more black suburbans fly around the corner their windows down and assault rifles pointing out of them. The firing from the window ceases abruptly and cries of pain are heard. The terrorist on the street directly in front of the camera throws down his gun now empty of bullets and puts his hands up. The agents stop shooting but keep their guns pointed, and two of them advance on him. The man kneels and prepares to be handcuffed but instead one of the black suited agents draws a taser stick from his pocket and before the man can react shocks him on the shoulder, causing his muscles to spasm and dropping him to the floor. Camera turns black after the second agent sees it.

“The current condition of the Minister is unknown although unconfirmed reports suggest he is alive and in critical condition. Four other men believed to be from the Federal Security Bureau are thought to be dead or seriously injured, we do know that one gunman has been taken into custody and the other two were both killed at the scene. The origin of the terrorists is still unknown but the FSB say they are carrying out a through investigation'."

This seems a good idea. I'm more into the science/exploration/diplomacy stuff, but I'll take a crack at writing a good war speach. As long as I'm going to consider it, I may as well put up something for all 3 of my active nations.

For Eniqcir:

The High Councillor stepped up to the podium, looking a bit more haggard than is usual for such a high-ranking person, and rather sullen besides. He looked out at the reporters and cameras, down at his speach, and back up again.

"Good people of Eniqcir," he began. "Likely, you have already heard of the horrible accident that recently befell our nation. At 9:45 yesterday morning, a mass transport vehicle, commonly known as a StarFish, underwent massive structural failures and exploded over the Epsal-na-Narbhal airport, causing major damage to the surrounding city, not the least of which was the partial collapse of the upper levels of the White Tower. Several Councillors were killed in the event, and the selection of replacements will take place as soon as possible. I am sorry as well that I must confirm the rumors. Yes, the Steward, Lord Inbhailígh Crzleídzí the First, was badly wounded. He currently teters on the brink of death. Plans are being made to transport.. ah, what is left of him... toa Snel medical facility, although we dare not hope for anything better than Death Forward at this point. Thank you, and may fate favor us."


For The Snel Race:

"Citizens. I speak to you at this time not as a Coordinator of Actions, but, unofrtunately, as a deliverer of bad news. It seems that the Gurlanai have chosen the worst possible time to stage a civil war. A mutiny took place on the cruiser bearing Eniqciri and Scolopendran diplomats in the middle of peace negotiations, effectively dooming us and them to eternal war forever more. In addition, the diplomatic efforts have uncovered further Gurlanai perversions- telepathically modified Snel. Rescue operations are currently underway, supervised by myself directly. Several Gurlanai crafts were detected in the Jove system recently, but they have left apparently without causing any harm. We can only hope that their own civil war will occupy them long enough for us to mount a sufficient defense, and perhaps save our enslaved sisters and brothers."


For the Spacer Guilds:

"Mycenaeans, it is my duty as your Governor to officially present the bad news, although most of you have probably heard it through Tripolis already. It seems that an Earthling nation, jealous of our capabilities, has taken it upon itself to take down the Glassmith project. Fortunately, the very technology that they envy has kept us free from any major inconvenience, however, we must now be vigilant, ever watching, to ensure that nothing of the sort ever occurs with a more powerful entity behind it. I am happy to tell you that the Glassmith project will continue, with the help of the Knossosi, but security will be increased, and the timetable is likely to extend.

"Unfortunately, I have yet more bad news to report, and this time the event involved truly was destructive. While attempting a slingshot manuever around Mars, a Phoenician cargo ship was impacted by uncharted spacejunk, causing temporary engine failure and plunging them into the atmosphere. You may wonder why we are concerned with a Phoenician ship, but it was carrying Mycenaean crew members. Our current information on the matter indicates that most of the crew was rescued by a Sunsetian craft, although the ship itself was destroyed. Georgi Sakharov fingered the trigger of his weapon nervously as he stared from the window of his apartment down at the square below. People were already gathering to hear the opposition leader speak, even though she wouldn't be there for another two hours.

Two hours - two hours, and then all these months of planning would come to fruition. With this leader dead, the government would have a clear field, and there'd be nothing to stop them winning the election in a landslide. Once they did, they could at last dispose of the hated socialistic regulations on the economy, and the nation would at last be free of the poverty that was enforced upon it...

Maria Marinacci, leader of the opposition Coalition for Justice and Development, stepped out onto the speaker's platform to rapturous cheers from the gathered crowd. Georgi ignored it. With his target now visible, he carefully opened his window, balanced the long sniper rifle he had been provided with on the sill, and took aim. Placing the crosshairs directly over the chest of the despised socialist, he pulled the trigger.

The press room fell silent as the President entered, his face showing the same stunned disbelief that everyone was feeling. He strode over to the microphone, and once all the cameras and other equipment had been properly set up, he began to speak.

"Citizens," he began, his voice trembling slightly, "it is my sad duty to inform you that a little after 11 O'clock this morning, opposition leader Maria Marinacci was shot by an unknown assassin as she prepared to speak at a political rally. She was transferred to the nearby public hospital immediately, but died shortly after arrival.

"Rest assured that we will not let the mruder of such an important and popular figure go unsolved. Our police and security forces will make every effort to identify those responsible, and once they ae found, they will be punished with the full force of the law.

"Maria's funeral has been scheduled for two days from now. Let us, for the time being, set aside our political differences and mourn the passing of this murdered leader, who did more than anyone else to bring the interests of the the poor into the political debate. I ask all citizens to now observe with me a minute's silence in memory of Maria Marinacci..."

Back on topic, I am starting a Role Players Organization. It is for more experienced nations that can role play good. We will fight wars against eachother, have diplomatic talks and many other things that will allow us to have FUN!. Don't come and post and say "Can I join?". I want you to type up a small paragraph or page role playing your nations leader giving a speach to the people after a recent bombing, invasion whatever of you nation. If it is approved, you will be accepted.

(Note: I want this to be big but also i want it to be good. Being in the Organization doent mean you are detached from the rest of the world, it just means that on occasion, we will have some good RPs.)

The Executor of Tersanctus took the podium. His heart was heavy, and his head bowed. He still did not look at the crowd, as his sweaty palms clutched the speech written for him. It all seemed so pointless right now.

"People of Tersanctus." His voice echoed across the halls over the speakers. "Today is a sad day indeed for us, my wife, your first lady. The woman whom captured all our hearts, especially my own, is dead."

The words seemed surreal to him, nothing like this ever crossed his mind, no dark nightmare ever compared to this moment.

"She was the victim of orcish assassination, the product of an ancient hatred for the elven. And now---" He stopped, he simply could not go on.

As he clutched the side of the podium, and broke own in tears, his minister of defense, Jason Roberts, Jr. Dressed in a grey suit, and with concerned expression took his friend in an embrace, he whispered something in his ear, and sent him to off-stage.

Duly, he took the podium. "Citizens, this attack is most certainly one, that demands retribution." he said with a stern look.

"But we cannot be blindy lured into a war, bent on revenge. Rather we will find those parties responsible, and bring them too justice, remember the words of our beloved First Lady. 'I dream of a world swathed in love, and a race of beings living in peace.' I for one will strive too make this world meet her vision, this is the only way to bring meaning, to a meaningless act. I will continue to stay within my region so because of my duties there (being the defence advocate and all), not to mention the fact that I have a basic map of the nations around me.

As you can see, I have a nice little set up going. Four nations on my boarder and a lot of beaches for… well, beach stuff.

Here are some quick points about Iuthia the RPO may want to know about before hand:

Iuthia has about 1.08 Billion people living in its boarders.

Iuthia’s people are the 456th happiest in the world.

Iuthia is run by James deGritz the “beneficial” dictator.

Iuthia has banned political freedoms, but has incredible civil rights.

Iuthia has 53’400’000 personnel in its army, air force, naval force and space force. These figures include support personnel.

Iuthia’s tech level started at around year 2000, but now sports many high tech weapon systems and spacecraft. (See history for a basic idea)

Iuthia has a treaty with 4 nations prohibiting the construction of WMD in these nations in return for protection against such weapons. (See Iuthian Defence Treaty for more information, or if you’d like to join yourself)

Iuthia has around 50 nuclear weapons, yet will not build any more or destroy any more, nor has Iuthia ever threatened to use them.
