A faint signal dwindled across space.A distress call of unknown origin.

"Att-..units..Th-..is the Hiigar-..Flagship Kahrd-Surin..w-..under attack!
Assist!"

The frequency faded now.Inaudible sounds fluttered through the beacon. Finally a single co-ordinate crackled through.

"Sir, we're picking up a distress call."

"Huh? What? Oh, I'm sorry honey, I have to go. Duty calls."

Hangs up the phone and slowly walks to the communications station muttering to himself

"What is it?"

"We have a distress cal from a UH ship. it seems that they're under attack."

"UH? Oh s***. They're in the GA, we have to help them. You know, I was hoping for a nice quiet patrol, maybe play some cards. But no, they have to go and be attacked. Radio to GD, tell them to send a Deimos and a few fenris's out to check it out."

"Yes sir. message sent."

"Good, now back on patrol."

He slowly walks back to the phone.

What the resquing fleet found would be a horrible mass of twisted metal and bodies.A small clump of ships still fought on nearby.

3x Ion Frigates

1x Dervish Frigates

1x Flak Frigate

1xCarrier

1x Destroyer

10xAcolyte

The Carrier was the source of the distress beacon. The conventional drives were missfiring and it spun slowly in space, absorbing shots from the enemy. The Ion frigates still fired from time to time weakly.Backing slowly away from the enemies. The destroyer was nearly gone.

The fleet dropped out of hyperspace, to a gruesome sight, metal twisted radically out of shape, with the occasional organic "component" floating in space. In the cenetr of this mass of twisted metal, a few ships valiantly fought on.

Captain: "All ships, form a defensive screen around those ships, launch all fighters and corvettes!"

Captain: "Helm, bring us towards those attackers, prepare to ram the nearest one if they do not respond to our hails"

Captain(to attackers): "Unidentified ships, stand down immediately, or be destroyed, you have 15 seconds to comply."

At the base, red lights started flashing while the sound of alarms ripped through the atmosphere. As personnel ran through the hallways, heading for their stations, a young lieutenant gave the bad news to Miran Liir-Ha, currently the military commander of the Kharakian Colonies.

"Ma'am, something has penetrated the outer sensor rig. We lost contact with two proximity sensors seven minutes ago. From that same position, an unknown vessel is emiting emergency calls. Please advice."

Miran, connected to many systems inside the colony with neural uplinks, took a moment to analyse the available data. Then, she opened her eyes and spoke to the officer standing before her.

"Those are Hiigarans out there. They deserve our help. Send a relief force"

Series of orders and launch authorizations were immediately sent to the shipyards above Kharak. Strike craft were manned, supplied and attached to their base ships. Missiles were loaded on their vessels and crews entered their ships. Minutes later, an assault group, consisting of one Carrier, two assault frigates and three ion frigates launched out of the main hangar bay of the Stratos Shipyards. The Carrier had a force of 3 Interceptor Squadrons, 2 Attack Bomber Squadrons and 4 Squadrons of Heavy Corvettes on board. Additionally, it carried 5 repair corvettes to execute emergency repairs if needed.

"Send a few ships to check it out, I'm busy!"

He continues to clip off his fingernails (the Klonor fleet doesn't really do much now-a-days)

"Sir, Blademasters ships have a;ready gotten there, and they say it's a real battle, not just some joke."

"Oh s***."

"Attention! This is General Salm, I want the GDS Intrepid (Orion Destroyer), three Deimos's, and 5 Fenris's out of dock now! Set course for these co-ordinates. When there, engage all hostiles, and protect the UH ships. Now move damnit!"

The attackers relentlessly pound their weaponry against the Hiigaran ships, the sheer size of the Kuran daunting them not in the least.

OOC: just realized ive been calling the commander of the Kuran captain all along, its actually Admiral Darksword who incidentally happens to be the ruler of blademasters just a side note

IC:

Admiral Darksword: "Weapons, open fire, Comms, Alert all ships that thse raiders are to be destroyed, show them no mercy."

With that, the Kuran's hundreds of weapons turned on a single destroyer, and opened fire. The destroyer seemed to dissapear as weapons fire racked its hull, splitting it along the beam. the other atatckers seemed unfazed, and turned their weapons fire to the Kuran, their weaponry doing little damage to the 6 meter thick armor plating.

As the rogue Kohr-Ah closed in on the source of the distress signal, they chose to stay in HyperSpace, to observe what is happening in TrueSpace without being fired at. It does not take much time for them to realize that there are more ships there than they are willing to take on. They might be mad, but they are not stupid. They stay there, silently, observing TrueSpace with their sensors.

The Klonor ships pour into real-space in an eye-blink, directly behind the attacking ships and just in time to see one completely blow away by the Blademasters ships.

"Nice shot. Men, we can't let them upstage us can we?"

An echoing NO came rebounding up the hallways.

"All guns, traget the lead ships and open fire. Send a message to the Deimos's, I want them at our sides and keeping us clear. Fenris cruisers, go have some fun."

With that the 5 Beam Cannons open up and rip right through the hull of the first ship. And the fenris cruiser come roaring in, speeding right through the attackers and simply slicing them in half.

It seemed an easy battle. it's amazing how quickly these things can backfire.

As the VTX assault group exited hyperspace, they were able to oversee the battle from a safe distance, having arrived above the scene of the actual battle. Observing the numerous ships of several nations fighting each other, the captain of the Carrier Katana gave out his orders:

"All vessels, stay in position. I want the frigates positioned between the battle and the Katana. Launch the Heavy Corvettes and let them take defensive positions around the frigates. Shoot everything that approaches us with powered weapons. We don't know who is who in this battle."

An instant later, two Missile Destroyers exited hyperspace. Being the huge vessels they were, it had taken slightly longer to prepare for battle than the rest of the assault group. After a short communication with the group leader, they took position on the left and right of the Katana, waiting for what would happen.

As the fleet awaited the outcome of the battle, a group of three fighters approached the vessels. Despite the warnings broadcasted on all available frequencies, they continued course. Immediately, the nearest assault frigate rotated its Mass Drivers and opened fire, taking out two fighters. The third flew on, trying to bore itself into the bridge of the frigate that had taken out his comrads. A well-aimed salvo from three Heavy Corvettes foiled his attempt in a cloud of fire.

"Enough! Open a communications channel!"

#This is the VC Carrier "Katana". You have all violated the territories of our Kharakian Colonies. Any ship that does not stand down in the next five minutes, can and will be shot down.#

At the same time the message was dispatched, a second group, consisting of two Destroyers and four Support Frigates, exited hyperspace 20 kilometers away from the Katana, enforcing the Corporate forces.

"Allright. All squadrons, assume attack formations. Let's kick these nutjobs out of our space! All vessels, fire at will."

Immediatelly, the Corporate fleet starts to advance. The Ion firgates assume a wedge formation, with one assault frigate above and beneath them, bashing through enemy squadrons with guns blazing. On their flanks, the Missile Destroyers advance, each launching a volley of 48 missiles, taking out dozens of smaller craft in each salvo.

With destraction provided by the capitol chips, the 45 interceptors move in and engage enemy fighters, giving the 30 attack bombers an opening to unleash hell at the enemy capitol ships.

"Sir, it's going very well. Squadrons report minimal losses. Looks like the enemy expected us not to get involved."

"Excellent. Let's get this over with. Keep those Heavy Corvettes here for protection. What are those four Support Frigates carrying exactly?"

"Ehr...two of them are carrying a squadron of Defenders, and the other pair has 5 MultiGun Corvettes each."

"Allright, new orders. Direct the 20 heavy corvettes to the battle, escorted by the 10 multigun corvettes. Then get those defenders flying and keep them here for defence."

"Yes sir!"

As these new orders are carried out, all fleets are notified that the Corporate forces will help in attacking the pirates. As the wave of thirty corvettes move into battle, all vessels start blazing at full again, pounding at the enemy forces to defeat them quickly.

Transmission from the BSS Darkwing (Impaler class Dreadnaught): "Captain Valdez, the Kuran left no indication as to when it would return, or when reinforcements would arrive, but we are falling back towards the homeworld (at sublight speeds)."

OOC: I want to incorporate Lost Colonies in this, so can we have this be a defensive battle moving towards Blademasters space (not far)

IC:

Just after the transmission was sent, the BSS Darkwing began to lose structural integrity, her port wing twisting horrbily out of shape, and her fighter bays depressurizing, killing over half of the crew.

Captain Edwards(commander of the Darkwing): "This is the BSS Darkwing to all ships, mayday, repeat this is the BSS Darkwing to all ships mayday, we have lost hull integrity, and are requesing emergency assistance!"

Two TUG class Transports nearby moved in, engaging their tractor beams, to drag the Darkwing back from the battle. Meanwhile, One Dai Katana, damaged almost beyond recognition began to hurtle towards an enemy battlecruiser. The Dai Katana slammed into its hull, buckling the armor plating. The cruiser did not stop, her plasma engines burning fiercely, even as her reacor went critical, completely decimating the battleship.

"Good. Open a channel.

Captain Edwards, we are sending three Elysium transports to help evacuate the crew of the Darkwing. They should be arriving in about 5 minutes. Intrepid out."

"Line closed"

"Okay. Communication, send a message to the Dreadnoughts. Tell them to form a sphere around the Darkwing. Put the ships on automatic, then have the bridges dock with the Darkwing (the Dreadnoughts bridges are capable of seperation and independant flight) and take off as many people as they can. Once they're off, keep the Dreadnoughts in the sphere. Use the PBC's to keep the enmy vessels clear, and use the Disruptor missles. If used in tandem they should be able to nock out the enemy cruisers. Hopefully this will keep them off the Darkwing long enough for the crew to escape."

"Message sent, sir."

"Excellent. Now, I see a carrier over there just ripe for the picking. Have the corvettes come up behind it, while we head staright for it. While it locks onto them, target it's enginges with the Beams, and nock out its fighter bays with the turrets."

Captain Edwards: "Thank you for the offer of assistance, however the Reactor has been stabilized, and breached sections sealed off, we cannot afford to lose any more ships than we have to."

The TUGs that were assisting the Darkwing move off to assist another vessel, even as the Darkwing slowly begins to inch towards the battle. More and more of Blademasters' top of the line starships fall prey to the pirates, while inflicting more casualties than losses. But it seems to have no affect, for every ship they destroy, another appears to take its place, the seemingly endless fleets of ships overwhelming to even the best trained officers.

Captain Edwards (To fleet): "All ships, this is the Darkwing. All fighters are ordered to return to their ships, we can olny take about 6 due to damage, and all corvettes are instructed to fall back to the landing bays as well. All frigates, and destroyers are to pull behind the heavier ships' guns, and prepare their hyperspace cores, if reinforcements do not arrive soon, we will have to jump out."

Captain Ellison: "Lieutenant, inform fleet command, perhaps they are engaged in abattle, we must provide our brethren with any assistance they need!"

To All Klonor Ships: "I want the Dreadnoughts to form a perimeter around the Intrepid, and the corvettes to keep up a constatntly shifting attack pattern. Ursas, use your Harbingers sparingly, we don't have many. Dreadnoughts, if any capital ships approaches, I want you to use a concentrated barrage of Disruptor missles to take it down. The Soderblom also joins with the Sakharov, and they tear through pirate fighters and corvettes on their way to the damaged carrier.

As even the Klonor fleet went for the diversion, most of the fleet they had been fighting with kept following the UH ships in Hyperspace. You use my Orions, my Sobeks (excuse me, the Luis Borges), my Dreadnoughts, my fighters, etc. I'm not complaining (more business for me), just wondering.

OOC: you askhow could we plot their course through hyperspace? simple. when entering or exiting hyperspace, every ship creates a hyperspace signature. this signature, the variations in it allow us to track where they are headed, along with where they came from, I thought that was common knowledge... apparently not.

I like your ships, Klonor. They are good ships. Not to mention, I can always blame you for any inadequacies. Just kidding. And I use a lot more Peristroykas than I use Orions, a lot more Sobeks/Borges than Dreadnaughts, I don't use any of your fighters, do I? The S. Acolyte was stolen from Homeworld and modified to meet my demands. And you do use some of my Light Nuclear Blasters.

Very good.

But the LRR fleet did not expect that the "pirate fleet" would re-integrate, as they had missed but one ship, that observes the fight from a good distance. They are no pirates, they are an ancient defensive system activated by the UH ships. It will not rest until it has done its duty.

They started to re-integrate the moment they were destroyed. The battle is not over yet.

((OOC: I'm saying that there are several ships that keeps the whole defense system together. Either you eliminate those ships, or let the fleet finish their... Business with the UH fleet. But first you should realize this in IC. Good luck finding that out.

And about the Hyperspace thing... They're using a more sophisticated method, so they'll just cause an energy spike, but you will never know *where* they are going (unless your commanders are wise enough to realize that they're after the UH ships). Then it always might be that I'm just a bastard who prefers using a Babylon 5/Star Control type HyperSpace. There are at least 3 different Hyperspaces used in NS. Looks like we're using different ones.))

'Taint a very difficult assumption. Are you saying that your ships reform from the wreckage?!?!?!

((OOC: Not my ships, but the ships of some unknown race who left them to defend a place where the UH went. The thing is that they're... Made of very small parts that don't quite lose their integrity like a normal human ship does. Find the controlling ship, and the parts will self-destruct. I couldn't find a better reason for their "ever growing fleet of ships", other than it really grew only because of the ships "re-integrated". That's more logical than "Oh, a fleet of thousands of ships that just sends more of 'em in drops!"))

Oh. This is not good.

Aboard the LRR command ship, the Albert Schweitzer, this news is not recieved very well.

"Sir! The emeny ships are- reforming!"
<Captain's reaction edited out for decency reasons.>
"Sir, there's an un-ID'd ship that's been sitting out the battle. That might be a target."
"Redirect all fire on that ship!!"
"Aye, sir. All ships, be advised, concentrate all fire on the small ship about 60km away from the main battle!"

The AI controlled ship soon "realizes" that it has been detected, and it starts taking evasive action, and the ships that have already reformed attack the enemy fleet that attempts to destroy their controlling unit. The ship puts its shields to maximum. Some of the wreckages start reforming into a massive wall of armor between the ship and the LRR fleet, in an attempt to stop them from destroying it.

OOC: Okay, I really don't think we should have the whole reintegration thing. And I don't use nuclear blasters. I stick with my tech (I just really love that game). And my tech tracks ships through hyperspace, it doesn't need any "energy signature". So, I can still follow the mysterious ships. And did you get the ideas for the ships made out of many small parts from the replicators on Stargate: SG1?

IC:"Sir, we're gaining on the mysterious ships."

"Excellent, have all guns made ready, we nee dto blast them the second they drop out of hyper."

((OOC: Partially, but I made it a bit different, as they don't "replicate", they just... Lose parts, integrate to the other "wreckages" of their ships and such. But still, it's a lot more plausible explanation for their massive numbers than the fact that someone had really built thousands of ships, just to get it smashed by some other fleet.

The hyperspace explanation's good enough for me, even if they are running silent. And they can be destroyed, as I explained earlier. They are kind of simulating a living organism that defends itself from intruders. Think of the the commanding ship as the heart, the brains and such of the fleet.))

Special Assistant Advisor to the President, Admiral John Kristler rolled over in his bed and picket up the phone.
"Kristler." he spoke into the reciever.
"John, this is Admiral Ritter at the Grey House. Something's happening. I want you down here in twenty minutes."
"Yes sir."
"John, what is it?" said his fiance, Dana.
"Ritter wants me downtown."
"When will you be back?" she asked.
"Dunno. I'll call."
He showered and changed to his SPACECOM uniform, kissed Dana, and jumped into his new car. He raced to the Grey House, through Lenniski Platz, and into the parking lot. He jumped out of the car, flashed his pass to the guard, who proptly saluted, and walked to the Circle Room.
Seated at the table when he arrived were the president, the secretary of state, the secretary of defense. The chief of SPACECOM was absent, and the president explained that since he was sick, Kristler would have to fill in as acting chief.
"Allright, what's wrong? Kristler asked.

((OOC: Well, that's what you basically get when there's no one playing the enemy from the start, and everyone has a different view on them because of that. It gets... Very funky. Actually, to me, this thing made no sense from the start. You just kept shooting a fleet that just kept on growing. And then you destroyed more of 'em. And it happened again. And again. And still, there were more coming.))
