A spaceship was launced last night in Kvelands territory on Lapland. For the Kvenns this is a great and long expected day. For more than a thousand of years the Kvenns have waited the moment to go into space to find the planet Kalevala which their myths and sagas tells to be the original home of the Kvenns, and perhaps all the humans. Another reason for the travel was the need of modern science to find out more about the universe. There might also be some interesting minerals on the planet which are believed to give more information to geological research.

The spaceship was grouped with another, a lot larger ship on earths orbit. Then the ships left earth and headed towards the infinite emptyness.

Kvenland has made a deal of borrowing these two ships from other countries in exchange of information and knownledge collected during the journey. Also some minor economical deals have been discussed about.

Kvenland reports that the direction where the ships first left is a fake one, and they will take the real direction a lot deeper in space. If they contact hostile ships, or if they are followed, they will answer with devastating fire.

There is no clue where the ships might be right now. Kvenland remains silent about their course, exact destination, and phase of their mission.

Yes... but we have a minor problem. The star destroyer you gave in our use is... propably not lost... but we don't know what has happened to it... or where it is. You see our communication with that ship has not been working in few days. We think the problem is in the ships and they are fixing it. We have ordered them not to communicate with us later on their journey, to prevent tracking, but not yet now. They should be sending reports to us all the time.

Still no clue about the ships. We are starting to fear the worst. We have ordered them to continue their journey, but we are not sure is anobody listening our transmissions. Now we just have to wait.

Captain McKenzie was not in a good mood. Piracy was up in this area and even the presense of one of the largest ships Crimmond had could hinder it.

"Sir," the science officer said, looking at her screen, "we have an ion trace. Looks like a Star Destroyer was nearby not too long ago."

Turning to her McKenzie frowned, "Why didn't we see it?"

"They must be running quiet. Sensors show other trails on the same course, readings of particle dispersal and makup suggest light raiders."

"Damn pirates are everywhere. Helm set course. 3/4 speed. Science, full sensor sweeps until further notice."

We'd be willing to offer a portion of out High naval assets to assist in a search and, if necessary, rescue.

If you're willing to disclose the relivent data on their suspected location, of course, so we know where to look.

This is the captain of Kveenish expedition. We have heard all of your transmissions, but were unable to answer them. Our communications are not broken, but we had to keep them silent after we started to have weird transmissions from unknown source. Actually they repeated to our transmissions with exact copies of our transmissions. Somebody, or something is listening us, and hinting that to us. That happened after we turned our course towards the Kalevala. We ended the reports to you, but made smaller test reports with false information to see are they listened also. Also them were answered in the same way. Now we are heading in different direction, and these reports are not any more answered.

Also something else happened. Sometimes the stars behing us blinked or get faded out for a short time. Sometimes many stars were darkened at the same time. Something big was following us like they would be trying to drive us towards Kalevala for some purpose. That was scaring. If they were protecting Kalevala, why they were not in the front of us? We await your orders.

Kvennish spaceships were once again followed. This time the follower was so near thaty the expedition could detect it, only some hundred thousand kilometres. There were a group of objects giving a small reflection of light from the closest stars. That faint reflection was detected by a simple device, telescope, but the scanners were unable to reveal any readings or form of the objects. As the Kvenns warned, they fired in the direction of followers a few shots, to show their strenght.

It is not believed, though, that the followers of today are the same as the earlier followers. Earlier followers were very far away, and very big, these looks like earthly ships.

Kvenlands president Faravid has an urgent and important message to the world leaders:
"Someone has sent ships to follow us. Who ever it is, turn the ships immediately back, or the consecuenses will be serious. We will shoot at you, and find out who is responsible."

Kvennish pilots are now searching inside the star destroyer AND the transport ship for tracking devices. They dont go out yet to seek the hulls because it would be too dangerous while being followed possibly by armed ships.

"Yes sir. Prepping the forward Turbo-Lasers."

"No, Ion Cannons have a much bigger signal." He silenced the officer that was going to mention the Ion cannons did not have the needed range, "I don't want to hit them, I just want them to know we are nearby. Fire once every 2 minutes for the next 12 minutes. That'll give them six spikes to watch and extrapolate our course and speed."

The weapons officer nodded, "Prepping the forward Ion batteries."

A few minutes later the Vladius begin dicharging it's Ion Cannons towards the raiders while still gaining on them and the Star Destroyer.

The day of captain Kuusimäki was the hardest of his life.

There was a shooting. Nobody actually knew has any enemy taken hit. Star nearby was not anymore bright enough to tell them were the followers still there.

The expedition crew searched every corner of the star destroyer. They found a piece of unknown electronics, tubes and wires near the ships hull. They first thought it was the tracking device of Emperor Joe, and throw it out to the space. There it suddenly exploded brightly like sun. Someone had planted a bomb in this ship! Is there a traitor on board? Is there other bombs? Where is the tracking device? Who are following us? Many tough questions keeps the captain of expedition, Kuusimäki, awake in his bed.

When he falls in sleep, he sees space full of monsters trying to reach his ship. Time and place warps madly, and the distinct star holding Planet Kalevala escapes even further, sinks in the deepness, twists with seaweed-like stardusts and becomes fully covered with them, impossible to reach.

Only one thing is sure. There will be more difficult days ahead.

While Captain was sleeping, command was in hands of a young and talented pilot Vaalintytär. Vaalintytär had a strange look in her eyes, that almost hypnotized the other people around her. She was tall and well formed, but those features were not the main reason of her influence. There was something extraordinary about her. Captain had been awake for days and said her not to wake him up.

Sensors detected firing hundreds of kilometres behind the ship, but captain was allowed to sleep. Vaalintytär ordered to do nothing, but just float throught the emptyness engines offline. Star nearby faded all the time, so their ship was all the time harder to be seen. Soon there would be only the light of millions of stars. Pilots discussed what may cause this shooting behind them. Someone was shooting them who followed the expedition. But who it was? Help was requested from the Emperor Joe, but their ships should not be here yet. Unless they have been following all the time. Vaalintytär would like to turn the ship around and go to see what was happening, to kill all the troblemakers and to find out who they were. But he had an order to move on.

"Send out a broad signal. All frequencies. Audio only," McKenzie said to the communications officer.

"Frequency open, Captain."

"This is Captain McKenzie of the CSS Vladius. We are part of the Crimmond Fourth Strike Fleet. Pirate vessels, break off your stalk of the Star Destroyer and stand by to be boarded."

"No response, sir."

"Helm, increase to full speed." He turned to the weapons officer, "Power all weapons and bring the shields to standby."

Both officers gave thier "Aye, sirs" and the ship seemed to be charged with energy as it sped up and it's weapons came online.

"Send another message. Unknown Star Destroyer, please ID yourself and send a report of your status. This is the CSS Vladius of the Crimmond Fourth Strike Fleet."

"No response."

McKenzie glowered at the viewscreen, "They're running silent. Damn strange. A Star Destroyer is one of the largest ships in the galaxy! Why the hell does one need to run silent? A frigate or light cruiser should, but a battleship?

"All crews in position, Eclipsce class Star Destroyer Gorjia is dead ahead"

"What going on?"

"It seems to be under attack by pirate vessels. The expoleration fleet is takeing fire. The Crimmond heavy Battlecruiser Vladius is discharging ions at the pirates."

"Sucess rate?"

"Only 10% percent of the shots atlest glance there targets, However the pirate crew are in front of the Gorjia. The Vladius, with numbers like thoses, could miss and hit the Gorjia."

"Aceptable. Open comms to the Crimmond Battlecruiser and tell McKenzie hello. Then full speed ahead itell we're ten minutes from the Gorjia then launch fighters. Tell the Reign of Godzilla to follow suit."

"Can you do that sir?"

"Why not? I'm Bill's superior by two years."

"Reign has responded, it will follow suit."

"Good"

Vaalintytär was interrupted. "Sir, we have a signal of a know ship. Its Vladius, McKenzies ship. Its coming closer. They are hunting pirates."

"What? Really? Do not answer"

"Why? They already know we are here. They are helping us to kill take those pirates out"

"Why would they help us? Perhaps those pirates are just an excuse for them to get involved in our businesses. Many nation may want to own Kalevala. Perhaps they hired the pirates just to have a reason to come near us. We have basic plans to react in this kind of situations. It is to shoot."

"They call us again"

"They should know that we said not to follow us. I think they will realise soon who we are and turn back."

"When that ship comes in range, it may damage us if it wants, and we have to shoot just in case, like we have planned. We must warn them before that!"

"I say do not answer yet. Now we know the followers are surely pirates, so we can shoot them with no mercy. Vladius must realize that we need no help."

"Do i wake up the Captain?"

"I am already here" says a strong voice of Captain behind them. "I have been watching your performance, Vaalintytär, and i am happy with it. You are too clever, and not friendly, soft and cheatable like many other Kveens. That is why I gave you to command. But let me sit now and open com channel to Vladius.

"This is Captain Kuusimäkin of SJ Gorjia. We don't want any company. Turn around please. I repeat turn around please. What the perkele, lights of this panel are off. Put the channel open!"

"Sir, i can't. It just wont open! Communication seems broken!"

"Then repair it. Fast! ... Shoot the pirates, and watch every move of Vladius carefully! Accelerate with main engines!"

"We see more ships! One is Emperor Joes. And now we see the pirates. There are tens of them!"

"Move the transport ship behind us"

"Sir, our communications are still down"

It's not very safe to be on your own. So we brought a few friends with us. You'll see what do we mean, when its necessary.

The Vladius did not respond to the Emporer Joe ship, as it didn't hear it through the Ion wake it's weapons were leaving. It instead gains on the pirates, and stopped the Ion attack.

"Prepare to fire all forward Turbolasers and two of the LRM(See OOC Note) batteries. Do not fire unless attacked. Open a channel to that Star Destroyer again."

"Channel open."

"Unkown Star Destroyer. This is the battlecruiser Vladius. What is your situation?"

"No responce, but I am picking up other ships... Star Destroyers of the same engine class as the other one."

McKenzie looked at them joining in, "This is the CSS Vladius, whoever is in charge of your ships, what the hell is going on here?!"

"Maybe it's time to start.."

The small, black ship of elegant design suddenly appeared near the unknown ships. It launched projected images in to the space. Images of people burning, children crying, women being raped. Then the ship vanished, with a giant explosion.

Gunner Vartiovaara aimed towards the pirates, and fired with the heaviest weapons. Some pirate ships exploded, but others made dodging maneuvers and avoided destruction. This was the first space battle of his life, and that was seen in his aiming accuracy even thought computers did almost everything. Even the computers would have needed better supervision and trimming.

Suddenly he saw a horrendous vision filling his mind. He was not in gunners room any more. He was in hell. He saw a sword of Norwegian cutting the head of his ancestor. He saw Russians burning his ancestors in a stick. He saw a longboat sinking and men being swallowed by the icy water. He experienced the horrors he had read about, which happened hundreds of years ago. When he opened his eyes they were full of fire, he shouted the name of thunder, and went in a mad berserk condition firing towards the biggest target there was... and it was Vladius.

McKenzie saw the visions of fierce battles of his forefathers fighting in Britian and saw the brave men fall. He welled up with tears of pride and sadness and then saw the pillaging aftwerwards that enraged him.

The Weapons officer saw his fiance's death in his mind and stared wide eyed and unblinking at the report on his screen INCOMING FIRE.

The weapons strike the Vladius and in bucks violently.

The only one who seemed to hold on to thier mind was the second in command, as part of the Race, the images he saw merely confused him and filled his mind with clutter as he pushed the weapons officer aside and raised the shields. As the visions faded, he scanned the craft shooting and fred the Ion Cannons to shut off it's weapons systems(Ion Cannons just turn off power to any electronics they hit)

He looked about the bridge and watched the crew recover. A few lay unmoving, but alive.

OOC: What kind of weapons do i actually have? I have no clue about it. Will my ship be totally dearmed by one hit of ion and for how long? Do i have any non-electronic weapons like cannons?

(While waiting report from weapons officer of the arsenal in hands, i will inform you what happened to the Captain Kuusimäki.)

Captain Kuusimäki sees several pirates being destroyed. He is a bit nervous what to do with McKenzies ship.

Science advisor shouts: "Sir, we have some weird readings of gamma rays"

Captain is not listening. His eyes are empty. In his mind he floats through the space. He never thought before how big, how endless it could be, but now he feels it with all of his soul. This is impossible, he repeats in his mind to calm down. There must be limits of this space somewhere! Then he feels a terrifying fear that the entire ship could start dropping on bottomles pit at any time. That makes him to crab anything nearby, and to scream: "We are dropping! We are dropping! I want home!" Pain in his stomach grows in unlimited size when he feels the ship is really starting to drop.
"Aaaaaaaaaaarrh Ei perkele! No in the satans name! Perkele saatana god help me!" he screams

Vaalintytär looks calmly the captain who falls on the floor. Doctor tries to come to help the captain but suddenly he starts to stick his own hands with injection needles believing that there are worms under his skin.

Vaalintytär takes captains seat giving no attention to the chaos around her.

A man emerges from the shadow, beside another man.

"Did we succeed?"
"Looks like it."

While being in Vaalintytärs hands, SD Gorjia was like her toy. She felt everyhing was under her control. There were buttons under her hands, which made a firework of all the times to appear to the sky. She knew something was badly wrong when most of the crew went mad-like, but she calmly concentrated to the most important, their mission. She realised that one of the main guns shooted at the wrong direction, and some others did not shoot at all. She took gun systems to her screen, and saw that Vladius was being shot at. Who gave you the order to shoot him, she screamed to the gunners room. Answer was ragious-like scream. Now they surely shoot us back, believed Vaalintytär, and ordered computers to shoot Vladius with all the guns at hand and with maximun firepower.

"Incoming ionic fire" said the screen. Magnetic metal shrapnel was automatically shot out from Gorjias hull to hit and deacticvate the ionic blast before it hits the ship. It succeeded for the first shot, but second get throught of this newly invented defense system, and deactivated the weapons.

"Damn, do we have to fight with swords now?" cursed Vaalintytär. Where is the ship of Emperor Joe?

Terapedo 'Blood Lust'-20042-KS1c-MECB20GT watched the sceen play out befor it's sensors, half a million kilometers away, with something analogious to envy.

"What's with all this watching?" the meter long, thousand kilo missile thought plainitivly, "There's a perfectly good fight over there? Why do they get to have all the fun? Why won't they just let me just blow up?!"

Suddenly, something happened; the smart-weapon's simple AI blindsided by the incoming data, struggling to comprehend, driving it feral.

Lightminutes away, the AI of the 300m long Kanuckistani destroyed KHGV Blood Lust mentally cursed, realising what was happening an instant too late to intervien; the simple mind of the terapedo made it's decision, and disapeared.

An instant later, amidst the pirate formation, a metric ton of matter apeared. In the next instant, almost 889 kilos of it ceased to be as the terapedo's twenty gigaton conversion bomb was detonated; a briliant flash erupting, illuminating everything in nearby space.

OOC: Not sure how tough they are, but, well, that was a very big bomb my most standards.

"My lord, the battle continues. Should we stop it?"
"No. We did what was written. Nothing less, and nothing more we will do."

Lights are out in the control room of expeditions transpor and science vessel Ruoto, but walls gave a glow in which the science team concentrated on the current events. Science team has seen the battle coming close, but because there were no orders from the leading ship Gorjia, they moved Ruoto behind it. At the time of the battle there was a bump that shoock the ship, and then another, but no one had time to find out what it was. Something was hit on Ruotos rear hull, not damaging the hull, but causing some sensitive equipment to broke.

Suddnely all the men on board had some kind of vision of horror. The Science chief was suddenly totally sure that there is no Kalevala, or the route is totally wrong. He feared that they will be lost for ever, and turned the ship around to go home. Other crew member then attacked him and ship drifted in different direction. It came closer to the pirates, who shot it with rapid fire, making leaking holes to its hulls. Airless rooms were isolated by blast doors, and soon the crew returned to its senses, just before a bright blast that made the ship to shake. Ruoto had one engine left, and corrected its course back to Gorjia.

Ruoto heard all the signals given by Emperor Joe and Vladius, but Gorjias answers were not heard. Crew of Ruoto thought it was giving them in a channel that was forbidden to them for some reason. Soon they realised something was wrong. They opened their comm channel and took contact to Vladius:

"This is the chief of science vessed Ruoto. Communications of SD Gorjia are down. We are here in peacefulf mission. Please turn around. I repeat please turn around."

OOC: I have all the weapons and fighters you left in this ship. Transport ship is modified by us. It has some pressure guns with greandes. Its range is unlimited as long as there are space for a grenade to fly. But its very unaccurate and we have no extra ammo if they are all used.

A man runs in the Gorjias corridors. He has tools in his pocket, by which he sabotaged the comm link of the ship. Then he went to broke the air supply. He was seen cutting wires from the panels, and now he is being chased.

Man knows he cant escape, but before he is captured, he wants to make sure the ship wont never find its destination. He is sure that if it happens, Kalevala will be ruined forever. He is a nature preservation activist belonging to a secret group "Aurora Warriors".

Man was luckily not recognized, and he runs towards the science room, when he suddenly collapses to a scientist. "Sorry sir" says the scientist, when he sees a known, well respected man, Ukko, the leader of bio labs.

Scientist asks: "Are you all right?"

We can't reveal the location of Kalevala, so you can't follow us with ships. But if you really want, you can stay here in this ship if you don't take any astronomic or communication equipment with you, and remain in rooms where are no acces to our location data or windows. After the meeting the prime minister takes a car, and drives to the estate of president Faravid. Faravid is a very old man, but still in his strenght. There are also generals of army and other leaders at the meeting. This meeting can not be publicised to the people, yet.

Faravid says to the ministers and generals: "I have a serious matter to discuss about. We have strong clues that expedition is returning with their ship, Gorjia."

Faravid: "I don't know, but I believe so. They have been there for a long time without reporting to us. I believe they have done the bad thing to its soil, the thing we strongly denied them to do. They may be infested by it"

Suddenly a message is received by Kvenlandish radio. After very many years Vaalintytärs physical voice is heard by them who waited them. But the message makes the ministers and senatores suspicious. Vaalintytär tells them a long story about Kalevala, and tries to make many reasons why they have not contacted Kvenland earlier. Kvenlands emergency meeting answers them with a message. "You are guarantined. Stay exactly where you are. Your cargo may be highly dangerous. Do not land on any planet. Especially not to earth."

Vaalintytär does not answer in a while. Then she says: "We are under a minor attack. Buy if we stay here more and more nations are going to hunt us because of the great treasures we hold. Our cargo is not dangerous. We have collected it by ourselves, just like we had to do, and it did not hurt us at all. We have fully examined and re-examined every piece of gold and other minerals we have. They are all safe."

Vaalintytär sounds sure of herself, but the ministers and generals are very suspicious. She must be lying. Order of guarantine is repeated.

At the same day Kvenland secretly contacts space nations to help to prevent anything dangerous to arrive earth. The exact nature of danger is not told.

Galen the Fourth(current president) contacts the Kvenlands prime minister.

"We have a small combat fleet on Sol, that is holding the Gorjia from proceeding to Earth. You were wise not to let the ship continue, but you're orders are not heard in their minds.. We'll try our best to stop them at our current resources, but I suggest that you call in some other reinforcements. Gorjia is quite an impressive ship..

Oh, we'll try to dispatch a medium fleet (12 Cruisers, 7 battlecruisers, 10 Dreadnoughts, 17 destroyers and numerous fighters), but our forces are currently tied quite much elsewhere."
