We understand that a group of our scientists, assigned to the Empire of Raem, have been arrested and held as political prisoners by the new regime due to the fact that they were contracted by the old regime of Keth.

Obviously, we wish news of these prisoners, and proof of their well-being.

A dropship calmly flies in the night. Undetectable by radar, fending into the surroudings and thus invisible.

The ship is flying in the directin of the capital which has been taken over by the coup.

Mission: Secure WV research team and extract it safely.
Mission Status: In progress...

The pilots swiftly landed the ship in the forests around the location indicated by the WV intelligence to be the emplacement of the scientists.
A certain genetics institute outside of the capital.

- All right guys, fall out and good luck!

6 men in "Knyaz" personal armor and 4 Skaven jumped out of the back hatch and the dropship calmly flied away.
Under the cover of the Black Wolves operatives, the Skaven started digging a tunnel where the team could take cover while awaiting further details from WV intelligence.

In a mere 10 minutes, the hideout was complete and the team took shelter, unseen and undetected.

::somewhere in the desert, near the Tarasovka hideout, a low whine builds. Something like the screech of a jet engine mater with the low rumble of a locomotive, the sound closes at an alarming rate. It passes overhead, ten distinct whines audible, before retreating into the distance::

::posted to the Internet shortly afterwards is a video, taken by an amatuer, of the streets of the capitol city: bodies little the streets and sidewalks, millions, mutilated beyond recognition. Most wear the tatter scraps of their uniforms. The streets are literally awash with blood, the slow maroon currents of lazy rivers with the burning husks of First Army vehicles forming hellish islands. The video ends as abruptly as it started::

OOC:
You mean you blew up the capital city
Wow... talking of the New Order you don't leave the things half-done allright.

IC:

The Black Wolves sentinels outside of the hideout suddenly jumped into it. The leader looked at them during a second and then gave order...

- Put helms on and on the ground! NOW!

All of the men and... Skaven rat-likes lay on the bottom of the shelter and awaited for the piloning to stop.
Once it was gone, the Skaven dug the way out and the team came out to the air.
The leader watched at what remained of the city...

- Well, that wasn't in the plans...

The ruins of the center were in front of them. The leader shook his head.

- Spirit 5, check the ruins out, you never know.

- Yes, sire!

The operative vanished into the darkness of the night accompanied by a Skaven...
The rest dug in at a certain distance from the first point and awaited...

The helicopters register the locks, and disperse CMs as they take advantage of the terrain and drop behind a ridge, smoke and fire and shadow from the tanks obscuring them. A group of six men jump out of the Black Hawk and head into cover, securing a small gully that leads to the top of the ridge.

After the thud of fire into the ground above fades, the choppers turn to leave, flying low, keeping high terrain between themselves and the very watchful city.

The six men hunkered to the ground as their air-support flew away. HUDs on the visors of their environment-sealed FELIN armour displayed GPS information, direction, objectives. The suits didn't have night-sights - the soldiers themselves had been genetically modified with 'Thistledown' rods and cones, and could see into both Ultraviolet and Infrared spectra. Laser radar systems sent out constant barrages of signals, measuring movement and surfaces.

Constant communication links with Control relayed data and image transmissions, and even as they spotted the attackers, Headquarters received visuals and LIDAR-generated forms.

"HQ, this is Captain Sanders. Contact made with hostiles. Elimination proceeding." He was barely done speaking before the closest of the shadowy figures leapt out. Auto-targetting systems, guided by multiple-redundancy sensor systems displayed the Mandrakes clearly, and quick controlled bursts of flat-head depleted uranium bullets hurtled towards them, scything through rock and metal debris alike as the auto-targetters followed the things through cover. A low hiss of recoil-absorbers filled the night.

One of the Mandrakes, managing to slip through the bloody confusion, got in close and moved to stab a soldier with his blade. Warned by his HUD, then man spun round with inhuman speed, ducking under the sword and kicking at the Mandrake with enough force to crush a ribcage.

Guided by LIDAR-generated images on their HUDS, the specops crew continue to spit lead at the Mandrakes whilst moving into cover. The one that leaped into the fray dies as DUP literally shreds it. The flechette rounds fire wildly, impacting solidly into the CPC plates and Advanced Beast bodyarmor with tiny toxic spurts, causing the soldier go grunt under the impact and fall backwards into the mud. But he rolls, and is in cover almost as fast as he goes down, joining in the fire fight again.

OOC: Ah, this should be very interesting. Hope you don't mind mind my joining in...

IC: President Arevalo Arrayende, leader of the Republic of Centralis, pushed a button on his desk to switch off the screen on the wall in front of him that was detailing everything known about the situation in Raem.

"Who are these people, this 'Kabal'? Does anybody here have any idea?" Arrayende looked around at his assembled Cabinet ministers.

There was silence for a moment, and then Kion Kurnous, Minister for Science, Technology, and Research, spoke up, a look up the deepest loathing coming over his face.

"They are Dark Eldar, Mr. President. The depraved kin of my own race. If you want to do something about the situation - and I really don't know whether you should or not - then be advised: their technology is extremely advanced and powerful, but they will have little in the way of truly heavy weapons or vehicles. However, they should never be underestimated - they possess weapons that can cut through the strongest armous like tissue-paper, and to be captured by them is a fate immeasurably worse than death."

Silently blessing himself for his decision to include an Eldar among his advisers, Arrayende pondered Kurnous' words for a moment.

"Hmmm. Thank you for that information. Given what we've seen of what they've done to Raem, and what they'll probably continue doing, I think intervention is about the only morally justifiable course. The only question is how we intervene. Can you give any recommendations on that?"

Kurnous sat silently for a few minutes, apparently pondering whether to answer or not. Eventually, looking as though he were doing this against his better judgement, he nodded.

"Don't bother with armour - their dark lances will make short work of it, and they have many other weapons capable of slicing through it as well. I would recommend that you send in skilled special ops troopers with the most advanced weapons that you can muster, with as much air support as possible - fast-moving fighters, for preference. Try to take out what heavy weapons they have as fast as possible, and tell the troops that if they see anyone coming towards them that looks like this - he pulled a disc from within his robes and inserted it into the monitor control box, prompting the monitor to display the image of an Incubus - that they must kill it before it can attack at close quarters, and if they fail to do so, they msut run. As fast as they can. I can give no other real advice, though if you keep me psoted as to what happens on thr ground, I can give some other tactical advice."

"Very well. Thank you. Minister Angelique, I want you to get your staff to start preparing plans for intervention within 24 hours. Dismissed."

The Defence Minsiter nodded, and the Cabinet got up and filed out of the room.

"Command, we're moving in." Sanders blessed the integrated FELIN technology that meant command could see the fight results, see the dead six, the three that fled, and the one Mandrake that absorbed the darkness and then left.

The specops moved out, into the building. The sights of slaughter were filmed, recorded, digitised and sent to Command. They headed for quiet streets and back alleys, intending to liaise with the Tarasovka special forces before penetrating the building where the researchers would be held.

The Republic of DutchCrunch released an official statement mere minutes ago:

"Due to our own political and regional instability at the time we will not be able to send forces to support the population of Raem. We do however stand behind all efforts by nations who are trying to clear up this very difficult situation.

A new tax, 'Internation Stability Tax, IST', is being implemented in DutchCrunch and its not-to-be-named allied nations. By this time tomorrow Whispering Voices and what remains of the original government of Raem can expect 20 billion euros in financial support. This money is to be used for restoring civilisation in Raem and repairing broken infrastructure.

A team of economists, military specialists and engineers is being deployed to the stable regions so that the Republic of DutchCrunch may keep track of its citizens money."

The President of DutchCrunch steps back from his speaking platform. He mops his brow and nods to his closest advisor. They step behind the blood red curtains.

"Sir, do you realize what you just did?"
"I implemented a tax, I know, but world stability is more important than those 6 euros each of our citizens have to donate."
"This will cost you your elections."
"Not if this situation goes back to normal and if DutchCrunch gets an economic ally out of this."
"Yes, but..."

At that the time the 25 year younger girlfriend of president Stokes walks into the room.

"Mister President. We will discuss this in our weekly meeting. Good night to you."

Late at night an unnamed advisor to President Stokes sends an encrypted telegram to the government of Whispering Voices.

Topic: Intelligence

"As you understand the government of DutchCrunch cannot officially become part of this. Unofficialy, however, we happen to have some troops in the region. Is there any intelligence on the number of enemies in Raem? Their technology? Is anyone at this time preparing a counterwar?"

Twenty five minutes later the Government releases another official statement:

"The civil war in Raem is not looking good for our nation. Therefore all our funds will be going to nations that are fighting to rid Raem of this scum. Our own boys will not be leaving for Raem at this time. If it is ever going to be discussed it will be discussed in a nationwide referendum."

Barely an hour after their last meeting had ended, the Executive Council of Centralis was once again back in the President's office, staring at the screen on the wall, which this time was showing the Dark Eldar leader's latest message. They all watched silently as it ended, started repalying, then faded out as Arrayende turned the screen off again.

"Well," Arrayende began, breaking the silence that enveloped the office, "this isn't looking good. Not at all. I imagine your people haven't had much time to figure out their plans, Minsiter Angelique, but you can tell them to scrap whatever it is they were working on - we'll need something bigger. If we're to beat these vicious killers, we need to halt their entry into Raem via those portals, but I don't have any real diea how it could be done. Kurnous?"

The Eldar stared at the wall for a moment, thinking, then shook his ehad. "I don't know if your technolgoy is up to the job, Mr. PResident," he said, "but you can always try. I would recommend subjecting the portal and the area around it to the heaviest pounding you deliver from the air, and hope for the best. If nothing else, you'll kill a bunch of those fallen Eldar standing around them."

"Well, if that's the best advice you can offer, we may as well follow it. Angelique, get as many of our fighter-bombers ready as you can, and load them with fuel-air explosives, cluster bombs, and whatever other highly destructive munitions we have in our arsenal, excluding tactical nukes. I don't want to pull out all the stops quite yet, but if we can't shut those portals down any other way, we may be forced into using them.

"Get the aircraft in the air within the next few hours, and keep us all posted on what's happening. Everyone else, we're relocating to the War Room in Defence Minsitry building. Move."

There was a general scraping of chairs as every stood up and, once agian, filed out the door, heading for the walkway which led to the Ministry of Defence.

*3 hours later*

As the entire Executive Council, bar one, sat in the War Room and waited for an update on the preparations for the strike in Raem, a long-awaited message crackled over the PA system, anouncing that the 36 aircraft that had been gotten together for the attack were on their way and expected to arrive in ten to twelve hours. "As Mike Kardon has reported we are indeed moving our forces in position closer to Raem and Freedom Nation. This is only as a defensive measure. We do not know if we will be targeted by allies of Raem's invaders. If so, it is better to stop and intercept the forces on open terrain, where no citizens can come to harm. We are in talks with Whispering Voicesover taking action in Raem. Both I and vice president Trable..."

A low grumble sounds in the journalist packed chamber."

"...both I and Trable are promoting action in Raem to destroy the alien forces there. First objective is to get the scientific team of Whispering Voices from the now officially hostile country. If this fails we WILL be sending forces to aid Whispering Voices and Centralis in destroying the invader. Our DefCon has status has gone to four. As you might know five means we are in a imminent danger. If there is no time for a referendum we will not stop deployment. It would take our 300 thousand troops six days to arrive at the ports near Raem. Provided bordering countries don't object we can be at Raem's borders this time next week."

The President walks behind the curtain and turns on DutchCrunch News Channel (DNC)
"This is Mike Kardon for DNC In what appears to be a declaration of war the president has just announced he will be sending troops to aid Whispering Voices and Centralis if needed. Drakonian Imperium

Grand Praetorian Palace (Drako Throne, Drakonian Imperium)
Praetor's Throne Room

"Sir, look at this." The Director of the Drakonian Intelligence Agency (DIA) presents the Praetor with a file.

There is a long silence in the room as the Praetor reads the file. "This is very disturbing," the Praetor finally says.

From across the room the Queen rises and walks to his side. "What is it," she asks. The Praetor hand the file over to her.

"We must act," the Praetor says thinking. "Fortunately, our distance from Raem protects our people to an extent from this threat." He pauses still thinking. Silently, beside him the Queen reads.

From across the room the Praetor's close friend and the top General of the Drakonian armies rise and approach. The Queen hands over the report, shocked.

"Prepare our forces," the Praetor commands the General. "For now we will only aid the shattered Raeman people and not interfere with the invaders in the Raeman capital."

"We shouldn't be over tasking our military with this," the Queen replies. "We already have troops out of the country and soon we might be at war again."

The General thinks carefully not responding to either of them, but consider the situation, the Praetor's order, and his Queen's reservations. A truely complex situation, he thought.

"Our Legions are prepared for this. If we do go to war with Oregia, it is close and will be short and the rebellion in East Turkestan is over our troops will be coming home soon." Referring to the other situations in which Drakonian soldiers had and might be fighting in soon. "We have prepared for times of war for centuries and now we are ready." The Praetor surveyed the room, then walk back over to his throne and leaned on it.

"I'll prepare the 5th Armored, 7th Infantry, and 3rd Expeditionary Legions to move," the General finally responded. "But, Sir, what our their orders."

The Praetor did not respond, lost in thought. "Secure the Raeman population zone that are outside of the Capital's influence," the Praetor finally ordered. "By now many of them our in disorder. Terror and Panic must grip that land from what has happened. Provide order and protection. Aid whatever government that remains in restoring that order. But. Do not interfere with the invaders, unless they attack. We cannot risk a war, just yet. If need be we will annex the territory." The Praetor slumped in his chair. "Make sure the international community now what we are doing and why we our doing it."

"To help the Raeman survivors," the Queen made the Praetor thought clear, putting her arm on his shoulder.

The other turned to leave. "Director," the Praetor spoke again, causing the Director of the DIA to turn around to him. "I wish you to stay, we must talk further about this."

All Whispering Voices' Government must do is officially state that it no longer believes the scientists are alive. Whether this is true or not can be debated later. An official request for our support needs to be made though, otherwise we get a very angry population over here. Quick intelligence shows the House of Representatives approves the action, official vote still has to be held.

"Command, this is Falcon Leader. All but one of portals are gone, and there's nothing left in the square."

"Understood, Falcon Leader. Information relayed to War Room."

The Executive Council did not take this news well. When the information was relayed, it was almost immediately drowned out by a chorus of expletives, which ended only when Kurnous' cold voice cut in, and he leaned close to the microphone which enabled him to give orders directly to the attack squadrons.

"Shut up. Pilot, destroy the portal that'still there, then patrol the city. If you see any of the Fallen Eldar, bomb them. Use infra-red scopes to track them if necessary."

"Acknowledged, s-"

At this point Falcon Leader's reply was cut off when a beam of black energy lanced up from the ground caught the middle of his aircraft, atomising it. The squadron commlinks were filled with frantic chatter for a minute, before the new attack leader engaged filters and was able to report what had happened.

"Command, we're under fire. Some kind of black energy beams being fired from the ground, and apparently one of them hit Falcon LEader's aircraft. It's gone, just a few whisps of smoke. Minister Kurnous, what was it?"

"That was a Dark Lance, Pilot. At the height you're flying at, I'm very surprised they achieved anything at all - Falcon Leader must have just been unlucky. Now, destroy that Portal before they can move it away, too, and see if you can't take out a few of those dark lances while you're at it."

"Yes, Minister."

With the planes having overshot the square while all of this was going on, they swung sharply around and headed back, their weapons officers seeking locks for the racks of bombs they carried. This was quicjly achieved, and long arcs of bombs of varying descriptions plummeted out of the sky onto the unfortunate Dark Eldar below. Within sixty seconds, the air would be full of murderous shrapnel, searing flame, and a crushing blast wave.

Kurnous' voice replied. "Keep looking. The more of them you kill, the better, and it would be wasteful to come home with bombs still strapped to your wings."

"Roger that, Minister. Ok, boys, we're not done yet. Let's keep searching for more of those pointy-ears to fry."

As the 35 surviving aircraft continued to scan the city for targets, spy satellites oeprated by Centralian intelligence were doing the same thing, in infra-red and visible light. The Eldar couldn't hide forever...

Top Secret Communiqué

TO: Governments of Centralis, Whispering Voices, DutchCrunch, and Tor Yvresse
FROM: Drakonian Intelligence Agency (DIA)

The Drakonian Imperium is preparing to send troops to help restore order to regions of Raem that are not controlled by the invading forces. We have to plans to make war with the invaders, but are trying to aid the surviving Raeman people with humanitarian aid, protection, order, and government if need be.

We are prepared, however to strike at the invaders if need be. Intercontinental Ballistic Missiles, which have been tipped with conventional warheads (specially-modified cruise missiles) are prepared to launch at specific targets in the Raeman Capital, if needed. This is only an reserve plan, however and we do not want to fight the invaders, at this time. We do however think that war may come and we will support your action (likely secretly, though).

We await your response.

President Stokes paces around his office. The signs of extreme exhaustion apparant on his face. "General?"

The man stands up, "Yes, Sir. Well the situation is rather complex. The Drakonian Government has deployed forces to stabilise civilian regions. The might need our help on that, especially if their nation gets involved in its own wars." He sits back down.

"Has there been a formal request? How about Whispering Voices? And what about Centralis. What have they been up to?"

The General once again stands up, "Whispering Voices has not replied on any of our messages, official or otherwise. Centralis did not need our bombers and were able to destroy all the portals on their own."

Vice President Trable cuts in, "So where did the planes go? When will we get news back from Whispering Voices?"

The door bursts open and a muscled man jumps into the room with panic in his eyes. His messy hair shows that he too has been working this crisis ever since it started. The stripes on his shoulder show him to be another general. His duties lie in international relations. "President, General, Vice President, excuse me. It appears that some of our planes have been shot down. There are no details yet but we are talking of ten to twenty aircraft."

"Who shot them?" The fatique leaves the Prez's face quickly.

"We do not know, Sir. The remaining planes are landing at friendly airbases in the region. The other forces have been halted where they are. May I be so bold as to ask a question, Sir?"

"Go on man, we don't have all day!"

"Is the new government of Raem friendly with countries in that region? The shots could not have come from Raem, it is impossible."

Spirit 5 and his Skaven "counter-part" were still exploring the outer perimeter of the research center.
Spirit 5 reported every 5 minutes and up to now - no engagements.

Suddenly, one of the sentinel Skavens peered into the hide-out. Above, Spirit 6 was aiming into the direction in which the Skaven indicated with his sniper-rifle.

- Uhm... Krisk smell-smell human approaching.

- How many?

- Half dozen-dozen.

- Sery, you see something?

- No, sire, nothing... oh wait... I do now... at least 6 men. Special Forces.

- Badges, signs of identification?

- No.

- Good. Spirit 3 and 4 - meet the guests, find out who they are. HQ says we're to meet up with a WV group. Make sure its them... or not them. React accordingly.

- Yes, sire!

The two operatives went out of the hideout and vanished into the night, stealthily moving to intercept the group. If they were really WV group - they'd know the distinctive Taraskovyan identification code: three distinct howls which only a Taraskovyan black wolf can emit.
They will see...

- Spirit leader, this is Spirit 5, all calm.

- Acknowledged, continue with the look out, - the leader said into his helm radio.

The war party was Immense, it would need to be, Aspect Warriors stood side to side with Gaurdians. War-machines where preparing to move out, the mammoth Engines of Vaul where awake and ready to slaughter the Fallen.

The Avatar of Khaine was awake once more, for only the third time since their Arrival in this system, but now it would not be killing orcs, or humans now it would be fighting the Eldar's Fallen kin. Now it would be fighting in the Web, they had seen the signs but this attack had caught them from offside. Khaine didn't care, all it cared about was the kill.

On Mars the recall began the investigating teams remained but no more reinforcments would be sent. The UMO Problem was to be abandoned and the Mon-Keigh of Resi to deal with the situation themselves, the Shining Spears would be needed to head the assult on the dark Kin.

Above Chikotia and Suvokia the evacuations would continue, they would not use the Mon-Keigh bought Vessels in this situation they owuld hopefully not be needed and where not trusted anyway.

However the Eldar fleet Proper was to be sent to Earth, if needed they would have the capabilty to attack from Space, it was hoped this would not be needed.

"Nothing. We've been scanning the city for more than an hour, and we haven't found a single pointy-ear anywhere."

Almost everyone in the room stared at the commlink in disblief. "Impossible!" Someone burst out, summing up the general feeling in the room quite succinctly. Even Kurnous appeared unsure of what was happening, though there was suspicion in his face as he slowly turned to look at Arrayende.

"Mr. President, I think the time has come to send in the ground troops. If we can't find them from the air, we'll have to find them on foot. I suggest you order the aircraft to land at the nearest friendly airbase - they must be running low on fuel by now."

Arrayende nodded. "I agree. Tell him so." As Kurnous turned back toward his microphone to issue the order, Arrayende tapped a four-digit code into the keypad on the command desk, notifying the MoD that they were to prepare for ground involvement.

At this point the Foreign Minsitry Bulletin screen beeped loudly and displayed another message from DutchCrutch. It was read speedily by all in the room, and Arrayende was rapidly scribbling down a reply, which he handed to Foreign Minister Andreas Von Weiser for transmission to DutchCrutch.

Reply to General Waters:

If you could send your own planes to aid ours, that would be much appreciated, as ours are running low on fuel, but what would be even better is if you could direct them to somewhere where they could land.

We will, of course, be keeping you ifnromed about upcoming actions as far as possible, and as such, you shuld know that we are now preparing for a land intervention into the capital city. The Fallen Eldar have vanished, and we're going to try to root them out.

It had been a short trip to Raem. The 3rd Expeditionary Legion had landed in a friendly port disembarked and travelled through friendly territory until they had finally crossed the border. From there they had driven and driven and driven, across the Raeman dessert before finally seeing sign of human habitation.

A small town here and there had been secured, but nothing major. Until now as they approached one of the major cities in Raem. It seemed empty, hollow, eerie. The advance slowed.

"Approaching, City," the lead element radioed back. "Something's wrong."

"What is it," General Santiago's voice replied.

"It quiet, too quiet, Sir," the radio man responded as they continued a slow advance.

Then, they saw it. Bodies. Dozens of Bodies. Lieing dead in the streets. The lead elements of the force stops, dead.

"Sir, their dead," the radio man says finally.

"Damn," the General swears. "We're too late." He looks at his orders, checks the video feed from the lead elements and then swears again. "To hell, with what the orders say." He pauses, thinking. Then picks up his orders again and thumbs through them.

Finally, he puts them down. "Foothold," he orders. "Get me a foothold."

The order is clear. The lead tanks advance, all the units suddenly alert. War. Drakonia was at War.

"Mike Kardon here with an update. A closed press conference by our president started 45 minutes ago.
'As has become clear in the last few days the situation in Raem is getting larger and more dangerous than we could have ever expected. Attack being the best defense, we have decided that DutchCrunch will be sending troops to the aid of our allies. Four hours ago extensive troop movement was initiated. 500 thousand of our men are being moved into the region with technology borrowed from close allies. This includes our great 12th, 14th, 28th, 29th and 30th tank divisions. Furthermore three hundred fighterplanes are underway, as well as a hundred bomber planes. Aircraft carrier ships have left earlier, three days ago. The war in Freedom Nation does not require our interference, and we will therefore send no troops to that region. A referendrum is being organised as we speak, this will discuss whether we ought to send more troops and how long our troops are to stay in and near Raem. DutchCrunch will remain great!'
That is all the footage we can show for now. Questions by reporters revealed many disturbing things, which we are not yet allowed to report due to national security. Keeping you posted this is Mike Kardon for DNC."

A militant group of demihumans calling themselves the Manmen Kabal have seized key government facilities and miliary sites in the city. The government of Raem has yet to respond, though the militants did release this statement earlier:

"The old ways are gone. The royalty of the mon-keigh is dead. We rule now!"

She holds the head of Keth E'vres, the former Emperor, in her gauntleted fist

The Federation of Feere mourns the violent passing of Emperor Keth E'vres of Raem. The Emperor was a good Friend & loyl Ally of Feere and shall not be forgotten.

General Santiago brooded as the Officer came up to him. "We've confirmed the link up with the Lead Element and our main armor unit," the Officer informed him. "They are holding defensive positions, waiting for orders."

There was a long silence. General Santiago leaned forward in his chair looking at the digital map displayed before him. He continued to think. Something was wrong. He looked at the Causalty report the Officer handed him. There was supposed to be heavier resistance. There should have been heavier resistance. He reviewed the short summary of the initial conflict. The same thought kept running through his head again and again. It was too easy, too easy. Finally, the General pulled himself back to his tactical planning, but still it ate at him. Something was wrong. "Move up the Command Center to just outside the city," he ordered. "Make sure it is a safe distance away, and set up a refugee camp. We'll free up some more forces that way."

"Yes, Sir," the Officer acknowledged.

Santiago went back to his thoughts, again surveying the map. "Hold our troops at the outskirts for now," he ordered another of his commanders. "Search those areas for Raeman survivors. Keep the lead groups at their defensive positions and have them ready to move forward. Their waiting for us." He paused to think. "Their waiting to destroy us."

The Command Post was still a buzz with activity, Soldier were running back and forth from their vehicle. The wounded were being treated at the MASH unit and Refugees were being escort to safety, when the attack hit.

The attacker were so close one of the Light Tanks patrolling almost ran over one, before the attack commenced. The turret on that Tank spun around as the driver swung it into reverse hoping to mow down some of the charging attackers.

The DutchCrunch heavier armor would not be able to come into play until it would be too late, so it was up to the Drakonian to defend the Command Post, MASH, and Refugee Camp. One of the Defensive Twin-Barrelled Gatling Gun turret swung around targeting the enemy and then opening up with a hail of bullets.

Several soldiers were cut down as some of the fighting went hand-to-hand. Even the well trained Drakonian soldiers were no match for the lightning fast blades of the Dark Eldar, but still they faught on with their last breaths. Machine guns, opened up at point blank range, but were silences by the dark energy of the enemy weapons. A IFV blasted into the fray and was destroyed. Shrapnel raining down on those fighting hand-to-hand.

Valiantly, soldiers rushed to put themselves between the enemy and the main MASH tent. A Light Tank rolled from inside the Camp and move in front of the MASH. Enemy fire slammed into it, and soon smoke rose from it's hulk. But it was not destroyed, the .50-Caliber Machine Gun still fired into the fray.

Still slowly they were losing, but there would be time. Already, though the causalties were high. For every Dark Eldar killed a dozen or more Drakonians fell. There was a chance though, a chance.

"Command, this is Falcon Leader, we are now approaching the Phalanxian airfields you directed us to. Any sign of hostiles?"

"None. We've been watching that area ever since it was pointed out to us, and there's not a single pointy-ear in the vicinity. It should be safe to land."

"Excellent. Commencing descent."

A short while later, the thirty-five Centralian planes landed at the airfields without mishap, though many had only a few minutes fuel remaining. They had been reassured that additional supplies were being flown in in case the airfields didn't have what was needed, and that several units of ground troops were coming with the supplies to guard them against Dark Eldar raids.

* * *

Meanwhile, the dozens of massive transport aircraft bearing the six thousand troops being sent were approaching the ruined Raemean capital. In the absence of any safe landing ground, the basic plan was for the troops to paradrop to the ground, followed by their heavier equipment on specially designed frames with attached parashutes. Once most of the stuff had been unloaded, the transprots were to fly on to the Phalanxian bases, where they would deploy a few hudnred troops and equipment to help guard the aircraft there.

* * *

"So how did the drop go, Major?"

"As well as good could be expected. We lost some of the equipment, and the sand may be a problem, but there were no major catastrophes. Our units have formed up and are awaiting further orders."

General Xavier Fehrenbach nodded as he stared around at the desert, and then at the shattered capital city.

"Tell them to start making camp. The latest word from Scion is that this is going to get a lot bigger, and we need to be ready to recieve reinforcements when they come. Start setting up the prefabricrated runways, establish a security perimeter, and set up a command post. We'll prepare to move on the capital once we're ready."

Major Augusto Cesario saluted and turned to carry out the General's orders, but halted when Fehrenbach's voice came again from behind.

"And tell them to pull out all the stops when it comes to security. Seeker mines, laser trip-wires, infra-red sensors, electrified wire, anti-aircraft emplacements - I don't care what it takes, I don't want to wake up and find a Mandrake at my throat. Is that understood?"

"Yes, General."

"Good. Now go and deliver those orders."

Cesario saluted again and walked off to do just that.

As the fighting raged around the Drakonian 3rd Expeditionary Force Headquarters a small dusk storm picked up. Soon visibility was low and the fighting seem almost to lull a little, but still the two sides threw themselves at each other.

The fighting seemed only to go further against the Drakonians. The scattered remains of two Light Tanks and an IFV were scattered on the battlefield. The Twin-Barreled Gatling Defensive emplacement was suddenly blown to pieces. One Light Tank and the Machine Gun on one of the destroyed one was all that stood in the way of the Dark Eldar and their goal.

Already, though, one of the outer patrols were closing in though Two more Light Tanks and an IFV moved in from behind to attack Dark Eldar. One of the approaching tanks was sudden cut down by bolt from the energy weapons. The turret was shattered in the explosion, leaving only a lifeless hulk behind. The other armor backed off, circling around toward the Drakonian base. The remaining tank firing it turret into the fray, with the shell disappearing into the dusk that swirled around the battlefield.

An IFV burst from the city and into the fray, it's own chain gun blasting away at the enemy forces. Still in the area of the MASH a flash of a grenade was seen, as the Drakonian troops still battled against all odds. The IFV took a hit from the enemy weapons and then fled back to relative safety of the empty city building, still firing away.

And finally as all seemed lost, the cavalry arrived. In the dust, their approach masked by the desert storm, a building shattered revealing the attacking Drakonian armor that was rolling it's way through. Three Drakonian Tanks, recent additions to the Drakonian arsenal, armed with massive Gatling turrets added their hail of shells to the fray.

Finally, it seem the battle could be won. The remaining armor of the patrol joined up with defending Light Tank and pushed forward into the attackers, firing their cannons away. The two Light Tanks and IFV opened up a new rain of shells onto the enemy, giving the infranty hope. Near the MASH an APC rolled out of the city and deployed it own compliment of soldiers to the join the battle. Behind the Dark Eldar a Light Tank supported by two Medium Tank burst from the city. The Drakonian armor had arrived, to save the day.

"Sir, you cannot let your feelings be your only guide in this!" Vice-President Trable is almost yelling at President Stokes.

"I refuse to let more of our boys die in that desert country which has zero chance of returning to human hands!" Stokes was yelling back. The fatique that have been drawn over his face since the war started had actually become less apparant.

Trable was begging, "With almost a hundred dead, three tanks lost and of course those planes...I mean....I just want to say that it is nonsense to pull back now and have these people died in vain."

"Kolonel," the president turned to a man seated at the solid oak table full of maps, "what is the current prospectus. Assuming none of our allies retreat, which is even unsure, how are the odds of destroying all these Fallen Eldar."

"Frankly Sir, like you said, near zero. The latest reports and battle field images show absolutely no change in the number of Fallen Eldar coming into through remaining portals. It appears they are congregating in Raem and are not planning on leaving there. IF we want to clear Raem we will have to commit genocide."

"Don't think General Waters would object to that. Alright, Trable, call Waters and ask him for his opinion and make sure that King, Pullman and Jacques are not planning their own continuation of this war. I want a quick and clean retreat. You may call those tank divisions now, for they will take a while to..."

The door of the office bursts open and a large and powerful looking man storms in. Stokes swallows, "Lord Asriel, how nice to see you here."

"I demand a full recap of this conversation."
"Well I, the President..."
" I know you are the president Stokes, continue."
"I feel like our troops should retreat now, he colonel here agrees with me, but Trable has his own opinion and we all know Waters will have one too"
"This is nonsense, get Waters on the line this instant and tell him to move all our units to the coordinates I have personally sent him a few minutes ago. He is to build a base there which is better protected than this nation. A couple of sqaure miles should be enough, make that 150 square miles, that should be able to host 500 thousand men and an airport, right?"
"Lord Asriel! I must object. You know I have the power to undo all those commands. The war is over, accept it."
"Trable, give Waters those orders. Tell him to send a small expedition to the old DI base to see what remains," Lord Asriel turns to Stokes, "And we both know you will oblige."

The battle raged around the Drakonian base compound. The sounds of shouting and gun fire could be heard in the Command Center's Warroom. Even now, inside the Command Center there was the sudden sound of automatic weapons fire down a hallway. There was a scream and then the weapons fire increased for a couple of a seconds, until someone called the, "All Clear".

General Santiago stood over the digital map displayed on the table, his own gun held high in his hand. "Get those armor units concentrating on the main body of the attackers," he ordered.

"Secure the MASH," another Commander ordered over the Communications Network. "Move in units three and four."

General Santiago was still clenching his gun as the young officer approached him. "Sir, General Jones on line for you," the young soldier said.

Santiago turned to a moniter and keyed it on. The face of General Derek Jones filling the screen. "We're being attacked heavily," Santiago yelled over the din of the battle outside. "Heavy causalties. Heavy fighting."

General Jones frowned. "What's happening out there," he asked.

"They attack our base of operations, slipped through our defensive perimeters while we were still setting them up," Santiago responded looking over his soldiers as the sound of a explosion was heard from nearby. He turned back to the moniter, his face grim. "I've got reports of hand-to-hand fighting all over the compound. The bloody pointy eared feind are crafty and bloodthirsty. I need more men, more armor."

"Save the refugees! Move units sixteen thru twenty through the refugee camp and clear those pointy-eared freaks out," some other Commander in the room yelled over the Communication's Network.

General Jones, too now looked grim, but there was hope in his gaze. "The 2nd Airborne Legions been redirected to Raem and the Armor Legion is almost ready to ship out, too. We're committed to the long haul, now." General Jones paused for a second letting his words sink in. "Hold the fort, General," he commanded as he cut the communications.

Santiago again surveyed the map as another Troop Commander milled his way over to look at the map too. "Pull back units to edge of the city and get us some more armor to defend us," Santiago ordered. A counterattack would have to wait until he stopped the attack itself. The sounds of the battle outside and the winds that whipped the desert sands could be heard over the conversations in the Warroom.

The fighting had reached it's peak. Drakonian sharpshooter had taken position on the top of the prefabricated buildings and began to cut into the ranks of the enemy. Every now and again the Cannons of the Drakonian Light and Medium Tanks would fire, but it seemed the .50-Caliber Machine Gun mounts on the top of their turrets were doing more damage to the enemy. Their gunners spun their barrels around trail a seemingly continious stream of bullet after their targets.

Slowly, the tide was turning. Drakonian Commandos secured the buildings then moved out from their firing their weapons with deadly precision into the enemy. Pulling threw the camp, the Drakonian Gatling Tanks opened up with their own rain of shells, their turrets spinning around and tracking target after target. The few Twin-Barreled Gatling Gun Tower Emplacement even joined into the fray.

Still the price was high. The ground was little with the bodies of the wounded and dead. Refugees lay where they had been mercilessly killed. Shattered corpses and the burning hulk of many of the armor units that had been guarding the compound were spread throughout the area. In the hall of many of the building lay those who had fallen victim to the surprise attack. Some building bore the scars of the explosions. Bodies seemed to be everywhere.

The Drakonian force had been caught while it prepared to defend itself. Parts of the base were still strew with the construction equipment and the prefabricated building parts. The defense were being prepared when the attack had come and many of the workers had paid a high-price for the incompleteness of the defenses. Only little segments of the encampment fense had been setup and only a few of the Twin-Barrel Gatling Gun Tower Emplacements had been raised up. None of the Infrared/Ultraviolent or Body Heat sensors had been put in place. There weren't even any earthen work dug, yet. So they had been caught as they prepared their own defenses and were paying dearly.

But strategy and sheer numbers was winning out against the wild animal like attack of the Dark Eldar. The Refugee Camp had been secured by several groups of infantry, supported by IFVs, APCs, and a few tanks. Commando secured the Command Center, Barracks, MASH, and other prefabricated building and began to open up on the enemy from rooftops and any defensive position they could find. Reinforcements from units recalled from the city were swarming into the base and driving back the rabid attacks. Slowly, but surely. The battle was being won.

OOC: Well, guess I'll fight the unwinnable war for a while. Every war needs it Racial Slurs so for Humans it's "Mon-Keigh" and for Dark Elves it's "Pointy Ears". Sorry, best I could think of. But anyway, Raem don't suppose I might be able to hold onto a small chunk of the former human nation when this is all over. Making us uneasy, neighbors? Moving on. Again, can I get the name of this city?

From: President Stokes of DutchCrunch

"The Republic of DutchCrunch's population is demanding a withdrawal of our troops from the capitol and all major cities in the region. Our government is currently contemplating whether to go with popular demand or fight this war which cannot be won. After hours of deliberation our Joined Leaders Committee including representatives from all branches of government and the ministers DC has come up with the following:

The Republic of DutchCrunch proposes a complete withdrawal of all human forces from the Capitol of Raem and concentrating our troops on securing at least part of the Rogue States of Raem for the original population. Currently the Western Desert seems most suitable for this, securing a city or two would then be a possibility. Further endangering our troops would lead to nothing more than death and carnage without any land.

An official delegation consisting of representatives from DutchCrunch, Whispering Voices, Drakonian Imperium and Centralis should be send, or at least communicate, with the new government of Raem to create a peace treaty all sides can LIVE with.

If this proposal is not accepted the Republic's forces will continue fighting with the Allies until we have no political base to stand on in our home nation. Myself, Trable and Waters are willing to sacrifice our carreers over this but warn all involved: ruining democracy here will not lead to a more stable world."

"Our military has been taking a highly defensive stance in the fighting the last couple of actions. We believe other nations may have more need for your support than we do. Our own 460,000 troops deployed in the region are enough defense to secure a major part of the uninhabited Western Desert. The Drakonian Imperium will surely need troops, for they are most heavily attacked, and closer to the action. Our 4000 elite troops in Hide have found small numbers of Fallen Eldar and dealt with them appropriatly, no major losses or wins there though. As proposed earlier we think a complete withdrawal from the major cities to more easily defendable regions seems appropriate."

Drakonian Imperium
01-08-2003, 02:44
The Drakonian Base of Operations outside the city of Hide was finally coming under control. Tanks rolled freely through it and Soldiers took a careful watch. Hastily work had re-begun on the defensive perimeter. Already, several more of the Twin-Barreled Gatling Gun Towers had been erected and the Fence and earthworks were being worked on. Soon the base would be well defended. Still, the Drakonian troops were cautious. The threat of a continued attack or sporatic raids remained. But, for now, it appeared they had won a battle.

The cost was astronomical. Dead bodies littered the ground. Soldiers, Non-Combatants, Medics, and Refugees all dead. No mercy had been shown by the attacking Dark Eldar, civilians had been slaughtered alongside soldiers, without a thought.

Medical personnel rushed around aid the wounded, while other infantry moved the dead. Some crews began moving the hulks of the destroy armor that was littered throughout the base and around it. The cost had indeed been high.
Drakonian Imperium
01-08-2003, 02:45
The surprise attack on the Drakonian Base of Operations outside the major city of Hide, was craftily carried out. Leaving hundreds dead and many more wounded. Attack while the defense were still being set up the Dark Eldar hit at just the right time. With the bulk of the 3rd Expeditionary deployed into the edge of the city they were able to strike a critical position and cause high causalties.

Unfortunately, for the Dark Eldar. The attack has only seemed to cement the Drakonian resolve. Warroom

General Derek Jones, Supreme Commander of the Imperial Drakonian Armed Forces, stood over a digital map of the region where Drakonian troops were now deployed. Next to him the Praetor paced across the floor of the Warroom. "Options," Praetor Augustus Drake asked. Around him the collection of Generals, Admirals, Marshalls, Intelligence Analysts, and Diplomatic Official thought over the situation.

"The carrier IDS Anubis is nearing completion at Alexandra. We could deploy her to arena for air support, helping Centralis out," Grand Admiral Li Zahn, Supreme Commander of the Imperial Drakonian Navy, suggested.

"We'll have to," another Admiral said. "We should deploy the "Soveriegn" Task Force as protection."

"Agreed," the Praetor confirmed the suggestion and waited for more.

"We need targets to strike at," stated one of the Air Marshalls.

"Let's launch a Satellite to give us some better intelligence," one of the DIA analysts suggested.

"We need better aerial intelligence, anyway," another analyst added.

"Okay," the Praetor confirmed. "Do that, too."

"What about DGH," someone asked.

"DGH," several voices asked at the same time.

"DGH, is a Biological Weapon developed by The Dominion of the Silver Turtle," one of the DIA analyst informed them. "It's specificly geered toward killing elves, no known side effect on Humans." There was a silence as everyone consider the option. "The Silver Turtle, doesn't sell it anymore, due to Elven intervention, but it's being proliferated by several small nations. We would need to get our hands on some, though. If we could bomb the cities with it we might be end this." Wheels around the room were now turning.

"For now, we'll leave that option open," the Praetor stated. "I don't want to use any Weapons of Mass Destruction ever. Besides, Tor Yvresse would probably object as well as our other allies. Still keep the option open and ask our allies their opinions. It may be need as a last ditch effort. What else?" There was more silence in the room.

"We have the Intercontinental Ballistic Cruises Missiles ready," someone pointed out. "And we could launch our Strategic High-Altitude Precision Bombers."

"We still need targets," an Air Marshall pointed out.

"The DIA should deploy agents into the feild to identify possible targets," one of the analysts suggested.

"Do it," the Praetor ordered. He surveyed the map himself as a silence descended on the room. Finally, the Praetor again spoke turning his head to the viewscreens that showed the face of General Santiago in Raem. "Report," he commanded.

"We're preparing defenses and I've pull back my forces to the outareas of the city of Hide," Santiago informed the gathering. "I need access to more advanced medical facilities, though. We should try to get one of the bordering nations to offer their hospitals or get a hospital ship out near here.

"I've also moved the refugees back far away from the city to a small town near the border. It's heavily guarded by DutchCrunch and Drakonian military units and should be safer. Other than that we are preparing for further assault. The 2nd Airborne will be much appreciated when it arrives."

"Their on their way," General Jones confirmed. "They should arrive shortly."

"Good job, General," the Praetor complimented General Santiago. "A fleet should be leaving to support our troops shortly. I'll make sure a hospital ship is included." He glance to one of the Diplomatic Officials. "I'll also make sure our request for the service of regional hospitals is carried out. Carry on." The face of General Santiago vanished and there was once again silence in the room. Several of those gather headed out to carryout the Praetor's orders.

This is a bloody war, the Praetor thought agian surveying the map of the warzone.

To all allied nations, the Drakonian Imperium will continue to fight and not fall back from it's positions. There will be no cease fire for us. We will however submit to Diplomatic Talks to attempt to end this, but while they are proceeding we will fight on!

To Thelas, we welcome your support in fighting this greivous threat. Although, we ask that you refrain from bombarding the enemy from orbit as the chance that the remaining human civilian population could be harmed. We hope though that you will send troops to aid us in our war though. Drakonian troops will also not be falling back from the region of the major Raeman city of Hide. So we ask that your bombardment if you do proceed with it, not happen in this region. We look forward to our future, in which we have ended this threat to Humanity and Elvenkind, together.

To Tarrican, we also welcome your military support and look forward to fighting alongside your soldiers during this horrible war.

To all regional nations, the Drakonian Imperium would like to request the use of your hospitals to treat civilian and military causalties brought to you by the Drakonian Imperium. We also thank you for your allowing Drakonian forces to pass though your territory to reach the landlocked nation of Raem.

To the Dark Eldar, we order you to leave Raem. We will fight on and be undettered! We also state that any, mistreatment of prisoners of war will result in War Crimes. Those responsible will be brought to justice, one way or another.

"Major, has there been any sign of the Dark Eldar at all since we arrived?"

"Not in our area, sir. The Drakonian Imperium forces near Hide have been under ehavy attack for some time, but we haven't seen anything at all around our base."

Fehrenbach pondered this for a moment.

"I don't like it. They must be up to something. Has there been any further word from Scion?"

"Yes, General. This message came through for you a few minutes ago."

Cesario handed a small slip of paper to Fehrenbach, who read it carefully.

TO: GENERAL FEHRENBACH, COMMANDER OF CENTRALIS INTERVENTION FORCES IN RAEM
FROM: EXECUTIVE COUNCIL OF THE REPUBLIC OF CENTRALIS

General Fehrenbach, please prepare to recieve additional reinforcements. Approximately 15 000 additional troops are being flown in from Centralis, and will be landing at the temporary airstrips you reported were ready. They will also be carrying some heavier firepower for you. Once they arrive, you are to begin moving into the capital and doing sweeps for the Dark Eldar. Minister Kurnous will be keeping contact with you and advising you on Dark Eldar tactics.

Alright, lets play this one sensibly.
They're pulling hit-and-run tactics which means we're gonna need good intel and rapid reactions to pull this one off. I think we need as much surveilance as possible to keep us prepared for these sneak attacks... but Tor Yvesse expressed that they prosses some for of gate-to-gate teleportation: which means that tying the buggers down is going to be very difficult indeed.

If we're going to take them out in convensional warfare (at which we seem to have an advantage right now) then we're going to have to find something that they need to defend. Something we can attack and force them to defend at a disadvantage. And we're probably going to have to do it before they secure outside alliances to even things up.

Our Special Intervention Team can act as an air-droppable reserve on short notice. Once we get a base of opperations, we can be dropped into a combat-zone as a counter attack and at least start to cause casualties amoungst the raiders... the more they loose in this kind of raid, the more wary they will get of conducting such raids.

The Drakonian forces were more prepared for the second attack. More defense had been set up and the Command Center's Sensor Units had been erected so as the Dark Eldar descended to attack the alarmed blared. Their numbers hopelessly outnumber they non-the-less attacked, and again the attack was vicious.

Drakonian worker were cut down beside soldiers firing their automatic weapons the bulk of tanks that now patrol the perimeter were also attack. A few being destroyed in the initially sudden attack. The Dark Eldar push in fast and were able to shred a couple of the temporary MASH tents, but the main Prefabricated MASH Building remained. It's Titanium-Aluminum Alloy Shell protecting those wounded inside.

The battle raged. The Drakonian troops now much more organized opened fire as they manuevered between protected areas. Here and there, a Drakonian Soldier raised his Rocket Launcher firing a Tracking Missile at the attacking Elven hoverbikes. Commandos again took their sniper positions on the Prefabricated Drakonian Buildings firing off their automatic Sniper Rifles, .50-Caliber Machine Guns, and Rocket Launchers. Many soldier ducked into the defenses of newly dug earthworks, firing away from their trenchs.

The heavier base defenses and tanks joined quickly in the attack. Twin-Barreled Gatling Gun Emplacements opened up tracking their target with hails of shells. Several more of the gun emplacements had been set up since the last battle. Meanwhile, the 7.62mm and .50-Caliber Machine Guns on the tanks joined the fray as several of the main cannons of the tanks fired. The Gatling Tanks two opened up their cannons firing faster and faster as the barrels spun around. The air seemed thick with lead and shells, flying at the enemies.

The fighting continued, as it was joined anew. One of the Drakonian IFVs, equipped with twin racks of Short-Range Missiles lets several of them lose. The Tracking Missiles homing in on their targets. An APC's .50-Caliber Machines Gun fired at crafty pointy-eared attackers as it deployed infantry into the battle. Here and there a soldiers was cut down. An IFV was torn to piece by one swooping enemy attack. The hugh explosion of one Light Tank consumed friend and foe alike. The bodies again piled up.

As the battle continued, suddenly several low whines could be heard. And then from the far side of camp, a series of Attack Helicopters rose from behind the Prefabricated Buildings. Within, seconds then dove and dipped as they struck again and again at the Dark Eldar warriors. Machines Guns blasted and Missiles shot of at high speeds homing in on their targets.

EDIT: Added Helicopter attack, because I forgot I had them. LOL!

"Damn," General Santiago swored loud enough to wake the dead. Unfortunately, he wouldn't be waking any of those recent dead soldiers.

"Their attacking, again, sir," one of his officers informed him.

"I damn well know that," the General shot back. "Bloody Pointy Ears," he continued to swear. "Get me the other allied commanders. I want those immortal horrors dead! Now," he ordered. "Have DutchCrunch bring their armor in to cut off the Pointy Ears escape and have Centralis bring in air support. I want everyone of those elves dead and I want a coordinated counterattack after that. We push all the way through the city in one strike."

The General turned back to the digital map of the city and Drakonian base. "Pull back some more armor and push them away from the MASH," he ordered.

OOC: Your plan should work it we can push these raiders back, if they escape, you might want to have your troops pursue. Anyway, just some info. The Drakonian Base of Operation consists of mainly Prefabricated Building built out of a light-strong alloy of Titanium, Aluminum, and some other metals. Expected building should be several Barracks, the Command Center, a Supply Center, the MASH, a Prefabricated Runway, several Helipads, and many Twin-Barreled Gatling Gun Emplacements. Also my Legions are approximately equivalent to Divisions. An Expeditionary Legion consist of 50,000 Infantry and numerous light armor units as well as a few medium armor units and a small contingent of helicopters. Most of the 3rd Expeditionary is deployed along the edge of the city, the Base of Operation and along the path they took to the city from the Raeman border.

"Commander, I have recieved word that the Drakonian forces enar Hide are udner attack again, and are requesting air support from us."

Commander Robert Wetherington, commander of all Centralis air operations in the Raem area, looked up from the report he was reading and sighed.

"Oh well, those pointy-ears picked a good time for us, anyway. Our original 35 plans are now ready for takeoff, along with the other twelve that flew in a little while ago. I'll notify them that they need tog et going, and tell them to land at our new base near the capital."

As the adjutant who had delivered the message walked out of Wetherington's hastily-assembled office, the Commander activitated his commlink and opened a direct contact with Falcon Leader.

"All right, there isn't much time, so I'll be brief. The Drakonian camp is under attack - again - and they want us to provide air support. You are to take all our available aircraft to do so, and then land at the new abse near the capital. Give 'em hell from me, Captain."

"Roger that, sir."

* * *

About five minutes later, the last of the Centralian aircraft was airborne, screaming toward the embattled Drakonian camp.

* * *

Around five minutes after that, they arrived and began scanning for targets. When they'd been rearmed, some had been equipped with the more devastating weapons in the arsenal - cluster bombs, FAEs, and others - but these couldn't be used against a friendly base, so the Centralis planes fell back on less destructive arms - incendiary, high explosive, and fragmentation bombs, all equipped with precision-guidance systems.

Falcon A-7, which was flying point, was to draw first blood, unloading a rain of bombs onto a clump of Dark Eldar. The others were soon to follow, and within a few seconds the pilots could see the blasts and flares as the bombs slammed into the ground, spreading fire and destruction among the Dark Eldar and anyone unfortunate enough to be nearby.

OOC: Just a note about the bombs being used - the HE and fragmentation bombs are fairly standard, nothing special about them, but the incendiaries are definitely things to watch out for - they contain a mixture of napalm and white phosphorous, along with a variety of corrosive substances to eat through armour. This is similar to what's used in Centralis flamethrowers, and anybody who gets hit by it and isn't wearing armour that's both fire and acid-proof is likely to die very painfully.

A hail of missiles from the Attack Helicopters rained down on the portal as the Dark Eldar Incubi and warrior scattered. The Helicopter pulled away shooting after the fleeing target, firing away.

Commandos continued to snipe at the enemy from the rooftops of the Prefabricated Buildings. Every now and then a missile blasted down after a target and the sound of automatic weapons fire was loud from their positions. One Commando took a hit and fell to his death, slamming into the unforgiving sand.

The Base would soon be littered throughout with the wreckage of the Drakonian Armor, again. A Light Tank stalled in the sand and was cut to pieces by a vicious Incubi. And IFV attempted to run over another incubi, but instead had it front end torn to pieces. The vehicle continued to fly forward, before finally an explosion torn it apart. Another Light Tank exploded as it was being sliced to peices; the fate of the attacking Incubi unclear in the fiery blast.

The infantry faired even worse, one man throw a perfect throw, sending a grenade straight for an Incubi, who simply batted the Grenade back with his armed. The explosion ending the Drakonians military career. Another soldier blindly charged one of the Dark Elves firing his automatic rifle with his bayonet attached. The two fought hand-to-hand for a second before the Elf killed the man with a swift blow of his deadly blade. A Rocket Launcher blasted a missile after another of the Dark Eldar hoverbikes, the missile homing in and then exploding. Unfortunately, he is killed seconds later by another Elf. Gun blazing several more infantry rush in grab the missile launcher and dive for the nearest trench, proceeding to make use of the rescued weapons effectiveness against the Elven attacks by firing more Guided Missiles.

More Commandos joined the battle opening up with their Grenade Launcher, Automatic Weapons, Rocket Launchers, and Heavy Machine Guns. Spreading out from defensive position to defensive position they were able to somewhat some the spread of the attacking Dark Eldar and confine their attack to the central and western regions of the base. Somehow, the now much smaller Refugee area was safe from the violent attack.

OOC: Centralis, you can use guided-missiles, too. As well as the good old fashioned machine guns (if your plane are equipped with them).

"Pick your targets and go!"

The rest of the wing murmured affirmatives as they swung around back toward the camp and scanned again for targets, focussing this time on the speeding Reavers. Seconds later, the sky was filled with the flares of rocket engines as the Centralis planes unloaded most of their remaining weapons and headed off to rearm and refuel.

The fleet came as the sun went down, glowing golden clouds matching the insignia on each ship. First came small craft, just barely big enough to be called ships. Minesweepers, and sounding vessels. Not that Admiral Richards expected mines in the open sea near Raem, but so many wars had been fought in the world he wasn't going to take risks. From his flagship, the HCCS Jerusalem, he could see the massive forces arrayed behind. Ten aircraft carriers, one hundred destroyers, one hundred frigates, and countless transports, support vessels, and battleships. Beneath the waves, hunter-killer submarines monitored ... for anything, any sign of an enemy. There were none, of course. Raem didn't even have a coast. But that would never have stopped the cautious Richards from ordering the sweeps.

"What? What do you mean 'goal'? That missed the net by a mile, you lying sonuvabitch!" Seamus laughed, and gave Patrick a shove as he tried to alter the scoring abbacus on the Subbuteo table. Patrick grinned at his friend's lie, and flicked the ball back onto the table. It rolled around, straight into Seamus' net, before he had even grasped the rotating handles to defend his goal.

"Ya know, Patrick. I get the nasty feeling putting a Subbuteo table on the HCTS Emerald Pride was a bit of a cruel joke."

The satellite rotated slowly, its unblinking eyes pointed down at the planet far beneath. Raem, far below, was mapped by it and its orbital brethren, down to the last metre of land. Every Dark Eldar position mapped, every concentration of humanity - threatened, captive, or dead - noted, and the information beamed to the command on the HCCS Jerusalem.

Walking down the street
Distant memories
Are buried in the past forever

Melody sobbed quietly as the Dark Eldar moved through the low, narrow basement, their hideous visages and otherworldly weapons fixated in her mind. She cuddled her baby daughter to her bosom, leaning over, trying to hide her. She'd lost her husband in the first day of the coup; he'd worked for the Imperial Administration. He'd almost made it home, but was cut down in the street outside their house as she had watched, striken and stunned, from their bedroom. His mutilated corpse had lain in the open for hours before she could bring herself to move, to go out ... to pray that it hadn't been him.

Little Dahlia was now the last of her family. Son, parents, brother, husband. All had died to the travesty that was this dark race. And so, when she heard the footsteps of the evil thing approach, she prayed for her child to survive. And so it did, the Incubi's sword spitting down through her skull and ribcage, just missing the concealed infant, which mercifully remained silent.

Sometimes, one needs to be grateful for even the littlest mercies.

Flight Leader Blackdon span around as she felt a pain on her buttocks, and glared at the laughing airman. "You pinch my arse again, and I'll kick you in the privates, Private." He attempted to stop laughing, but couldn't. It probably didn't help that his friends were smirking behind him. It was time for a quick disciplinary lesson. She may be Air Force, with gene-mods suitable to withstanding inhuman G-levels rather than allowing her to bench press a tractor engine, but that didn't mean she was going to take that from a grunt.
"Haha. Yes, yes. Haha. HahaHAH." The last part was given as she kneed the surprised man in the groin. "You're all docked a week's pay. And you," she kicked the original offender, "you're going to report to your Sergeant with orders to spend three weeks on latrine duty."
He probably would have looked more unhappy, if his eyes weren't already tearing.
Even the most efficient military had the occasional problem, after all.

Seamus smiled as he moved round the Leclerc. "Not a problem, Patrick. Not a single glitch." He tapped the armour. "Nothin' comin' through that as can be stopped by man nor metal. All systems fully functional, uplink and downlink. Hold on, mate. I'll just get remote targetting checked out. Stand here." Looking a little confused, Patrick stood in the middle of the room.

"Here, Paddy. What's your Local Positioning in relation to ... Leclerc 3."

Paddy manipulated the menus in his helmet's HUD instinctively, using a tiny electronic bit attached to his eyes that gauged and interpreted muscle movement as commands. "4.5 by 9.4, my friend Seamus. Why?"

"Command, this is Gunnery Major Seamus, requesting permission for test remote-targetting." Affirmed came the response.

"Command, test local area full strike on 4.5 9.4 LPS Leclerc 3."

Simultaneously, the turret of every tank in the room span; and in a heartbeat, Paddy was looking down the muzzles of a thousand tank guns.

Seamus grinned. "Working alright, Paddy, wouldn't ye say?"

A single raised finger was his only response.

The wind of change blows straight

The land near Pont Du Lac was black with the fleet of Whispering Voices. Massive gun turrets pointed towards the land, and Flanker fighters tore through the cloudy skies, scanning for any sign of hostility. Raem was yet a huge distance, but "a stitch in time saves nine" was a motto widely held by the command staff.

The transport ships, low-keeled, were almost herded towards the beach that had been selected as best-suited for the landing - a rapid shelf descention shown from satellite imagery. They lowered ramps, like the tongues of a huge-mouthed whale. When the proverbial Jonah departed, it was in the form of materiel.

First out were groups of troops on foot, rapidly moving to secure the beachhead, to check for non-existant foes. This was done with admirable speed. Then, logistics came into force. It took over seven hours for the whole expeditionary force to disgorge. At the forefront, VAB personnel carriers, with mounted 25mm Dragar turrets, begin the long process of troop movement to Raem. Overflown by Migs and Su-37s, by Black Hawks and Apaches, and by massive Skycranes carrying field medical units and command post units. Modified Leclerc battle tanks, with sensors capable of picking up the faintest of signals and interpreting them into targetting information; Crusader and MLRS artillery systems; lorries with support supplies, with fuel and firearms, with ammunition and armour plates, with blankets and bombs and radars and rad-suits. This was not some small foray; this was a fully-fledged invasion.

And, most elegant of all, the communications system. From the private in the infantry, with his FELIN+ battle operations suit to the Migs in the sky and the mobile command posts, all the elements were linked. A giant, gestalt being; a war machine given a thousand bio-mechanical parts. The command could see out of the eyes of an individual soldier, or combine LIDAR data from a thousand. It could map satellite images from above with the gun sights of the Leclerc tanks; it could do massive targetted fire.

And, come dawn in two days time, it would. And the Dark Eldar would know the penalty for the taking of human souls.

There was crackle on the Communications Network, "Deadeye Lead, I have Pointy Ears focussing their attack on the Command Center," the Commando Commander on the roof confirmed the Dark Eldar attack. "Suggest Bug Out of Command."

General Santiago frowned, "Pull out," he commanded those in the Warroom. "Relocate Command to Beta Site."

"Get Commando Teams Alpha-2 thru 6 into their positions in the CC," another Drakonian Commander order scooping up a laptop.

Santiago grabbed his PDA and his small personal laptop. "Attack Rotor Wings, converge on CC and push back attacker," he ordered into his Communication's Headset as he left the room, escorted by heavily armed Commandos.

Two IFVs and a Transport Helicopter pulled away keeping the Prefabricated Buildings in between them and their Elven attackers. They had escaped. Meanwhile, Drakonian forces launched a counterattack back through the center of their base pushing into toward the core of the savage Dark Eldar attackers.

The warriors, entrenched in the alleys and ways between the buildings, are fighting like mad for time; they are not so busy, however, to keep one warrior from returning to the portal and deactivating it. He fiddles with it for a few more moments, then is cut down by a spray of machine gun fire.

Without warning, the ground shakes violently, the webway portal destroyed in a feedback loop that detonates like two thousand pound bomb, the flames and fire seething with the chaotic energies of the Warp.

OOC: Thought I had my helicopter destroy that.

A hail of missiles from the Attack Helicopters rained down on the portal as the Dark Eldar Incubi and warrior scattered. The Helicopter pulled away shooting after the fleeing target, firing away.

Secure Transmission to Whispering Voices, CC to Theatre Allies

We are dispatching an expeditionary force to assist you in your attempt to see the people of Whispering Voices returned and the injustices corrected. Given the unusual nature of the foe we will be facing, we are sending a very specialised force designed to respond quickly to the raids which appear to be taking place without warning. However, we will require a substantial airbase upon arrival to land our forces, as well as to refuel and resupply our units. If anyone has a secure facility to lauch planes from, we'd appreciate access.

Oh and Whispering Voices...does this remind you of Arani?

Our Airbourne transit should arive in-theatre shortly before the WV contingent does.

I ask again: Do we have an airbase that they can use when there? The SIT needs a place to set down and perform pre-combat checks.

the cannons, fired to avoid allied targates, fired at any dark eldar position they could see, the LZ just outside what was left of the capital was hit the hardests, massinve 2 tonn exsplocives, high powerd bombardment cannons, everyhting was fired, in the hopes that everything at the LZ was destroyed.

OOC: that is a fleet of about 75 capital ships, I mean LARGE cappital ships, all atleast heavy cruisiers, so you can imagine, Nuclear attack, with out the radiation

((OK... I tried to tell you not to. Let's go through this step by step: we already know the dark eldar are underground to protect themselves against bombardment. Those that are above ground are fighting against your allies. So, you bomb all the cities. You kill nine hundred million civillians, about fifteen hundred dark eldar, and your allies. When the dust settles, there will still be thirty million dark eldar, and you will hve committed the greatest war crime in the history of the world. Addionally, you will have killed one of the heads of state of one of your ostensible allies. You should consider your actions before just breaking out and levelling everything. There's a reason nobody else has done it with nukes, your orillery suffers the same drawbacks. Lastly, I'm going to ignore this, as this would reduce my nation to rubble, and I've already stated openly that I intend for the Dark Eldar to win this, or at least survive, because a DE nation will be cool. If you want to contribute, fine, but DON'T NUKE THE PLANET. You are NOT the IGs.))

IGs? who are they, but here we go, the bombardment was mainly to secure the LZ, second I did not know that you wanted to have a DE nation sorry. Okay I am going to change things here, first of all, the bombarment was only around the LZ, which is about 5km behind the battle at the command center. After the localized (I am going the same thing the US did in Nam at the helicopter LZ) bambardment the troop carriers landed gisgorging 100 troops and tanks who started to set up fortifacations, wating for the second wave of 200 troops, and the heavy equipment (artillery, heavy machine guns, anti-armor weapons. as the dropships landed, a wing to 25 gunships launched twoards the raging battlefeild

A few miles away from whispering voices base outside the Raem border a camouflaged chopper silently came flying in on low altitude. Ten feet above the ground backpacks and some large boxes were thrown out and then 40 large shadows dropped to the ground. One of the shadows stretched and checked his gear as his comrades collected the boxes and the chopper almost silently turned back., captain Soerensen checked the callsigns and the maps with the Lightenhancing goggles in his battlearmour. He signalled for his company to gear up, and then they begun the 6 mile walk to Whispering Voices camp.

"As you might have noticed our activities were delayed a bit due to heavy weather and political unstability in our own nation. Furthermore, a massive shift in political power has left the President dramatically under supported. This has made further action in the region surrounding Raem very unlikely.

The transportation of DutchCrunch troops has started early this morning. They are heading for the Holland region and should arrive there in a week's time. A small supporting force of twenty thousand men has been left to protect and guard the refugeecamp our military has set up in the region. As soon as our allies take over the protection of these 12000 civilians we will be withdrawing another ten thousand troops.

Further action in the region around Raem will be undertaken by elite units only, with the only objective of rescueing Raemian civilians from prisonercamps set up by the Fallen Eldar Government. This force is too small for its own HQ. Control will therefore be handed over to nations fighting these missions.

Our president wants to relay his sympathy to all those nations who have fought along with our own troops and will now have to continue fighting without our men. We have, however, noticed more human nations getting involved in the conflict, which makes our presence less necessary everyday.

We regret having to leave this cause."

The expeditionary force arrives at its chosen location at noon - a massive plateau on the borders of Raem, with huge flat swathes for aircraft and only one ramp up - with the caution it has displayed constantly so far. Vigil is unceasing. Sensor arrays are emplaced, command posts set up, pre-fabricated walls of steel and emplaced rotary guns. Holes are dug for fuel dumps in case of attack, and walls strengthened before the tanks are placed in.

Artillery, anti-ground and anti-air, is placed at strategic locations. The Leclerc tanks in small clusters, and concentrated on the ramp. Armoured, fast jeeps with small rocket launchers attached drive off into the desert, planting remote sensors and proximity mines. Huge numbers of infantry begin shoring up the steel walls with earthworks and foundations.

The first military action is a telling one. Five hundred Mig-39s and a thousand Flankers take to the sky, shooting at high altitude towards the capital city. Satellite maps are continuously updated, as attacks are planned on the closest concentration of human hostages.

"Sir, we're reporting incoming on the sensor arrays. Flying things."

The communications officer was young, and sounded eager. The base commander was neither of these things.

"Speed?" he barked out.

"Well under Mach 2, sir. They're attack vehicles, not planes such as we're used to."

"Send up one hundred Flankers and fifty Migs, but first lock on the Pac-2 systems."

Arrayed missile defenses rose up from the ground, massive launchers with deadly burdens. The central guidance network aimed them all, from the combined sensor readings and reports from the scouts. Racing from the ground, and accelerating to over Mach 5, waves of ten Patriot 2 missiles homed in on the doomed Reavers, their proximity fuses ready to detonate their 91 kilo payloads. That wasn't it, though. The targetting systems then locked on for the more accurate, shorter range Pac-3s, in the unlikely event any Reavers made it through the first barrage. Meanwhile, jet plane wings scrambled into the air, keeping their distance from the enemy until the casualities were reported from the Patriot strike.

The scrambled airforce descends again, pilots slightly annoyed they didn't get a chance to dogfight. However, the strike wing sent against the capital city is looking for any sign of air defenses - they're up high, high enough to be more or less safe from the previously observed lances of dark energy. They're especially looking for enemy fliers.

Captain Soerensen checked the callsigns and the maps with the Lightenhancing goggles in his battlearmour. He checked the temporary runway on the plateau. Well it looked good enough for the rest of the force to get in on. He knew this was a vital moment for the liberation to succeed. He had seen those reavers and knew that without those patriots this would have turned nasty. It was nice to be out of his armour even for a few minutes. He pressed his communicator and spoke into the microphone:
-"Code alpha"

http://members.cox.net/davage/images/Erik.gif

After twenty minutes the first transporters arrived, in waves of twenty each. Each holding 500 inquisitors and some containing 5 Taurus tanks. Soerensen knew this would take a while because each transport was only to land for a very short period. A large hulk clad in bloodred armour walked towards him, around its neck there were a necklace with something that looked like sausages, it carried the insignias of a Major. He recognised Major Thompson by his armour and saluted him.

-"Where the f--k is you armour captain? You look like a freaking civilian, isn't this supposed to be a warzone?" Major Thompson growled low to Soerensen and then turned around to his company and shouted -"Hurry up boys!, we got some elves to kill"

Behind him the first of the transports lifted off to collect a new cargo. It's engines roaring as it raised itself above the plateau, turned westwards and speeded away. The first Taurus began rolling away and take a place beside the landingstrip, its turret swirling menacingly around, seeking for targets.

Veganian News Channel (VNC):
Today the Nation of Tor Yvresse issued with the following statement regarding the Raem conflict where elves have slaughtered millions of people:

Statement from the Farseer Council of Tor Yvresse
It has become impossible to dislodge the massed Fallen forces from the Web, at this time, and so we realise that as such a war against them on the surface would be lost. Therefore it is the decision of the Council that the conflict in Eris demands the attention of our forces. We feel that the continued fighting in Raem will do nothing but cause extended suffering and loss of life and urge all forces to withdraw.

Also due to the Eris Conflict and the people of Whispering Voices involvement on Melkor's side, we will be withdrawing our advisors to Whispering Voices, as we have decided that their lives are now at risk.

From whispering voices we received the following statement regarding the situation:
"Today it came to our notice that the eldar of Tor Yvresse pulled out of a war with the Dark Eldar of Raem: a group the Yvressi had been quoted as saying "The Trouble we bring to you today is not one we of Tor Yvresse like to mention, we wouldn't have brought it to your attention at all, but it is rapidly spinning out of control. Today the Nation of Raem was attacked and a coup started, by Eldar. These fallen kin are the dark result of the Fall, and must be destroyed before they can control of the country fully. If this where to happen the stabilty of this Planet, this System would be lost." Yet, nevertheless, the Tor Yvressi have departed, along with their knowledge of the means the Dark Eldar are using to deploy their troops.

These Dark Eldar are known and feared for their love of rape, butchery, and murder; and their claims to literally "consume souls" of the dead. initial reports have indicated that the Tor Yvressi - despite waking Khaela Mensha Khaine to fight the Dark Eldar - were corrupted by Slaanesh murmuring sweet nothings in their ears, and now have fallen as low as their depraved counterparts

Our most beloved leader Jaar has the following statement:

-" When a single elf is killed in a distant human nation the elves gathers to destroy the nation. This is a fact of todays world, but when elves kills millions of people in a distant world and assumes power. This is what we get. An elvennation siding together with the same elves that killed millions of defenseless humans and threats the whole world. A nation that draws away their troops that may have aided to stop this threat. Finally the elves shows their true faces in their search for world domination. Vegana today vouched for sending troops to liberate Raem and to put the rightful human leaders in charge of the nation or destroy it while trying to do it. We will also send transports to the nation of Eris Callisti offering to save any human civilians that wants to leave the nation."

Vegana today deployed the whole Third and fifth inquisitorial regiments "the blood eagles" Specialized in fighting this kind of species. Together with the third panzer regiment under command by Colonel Antic. We pray for them succeeding to rescue the poor survivors from the sadistic murdering elves that have taken control of the nation. Vegana officials doesn't rule out an option of doing an all- out invasion to liberate the nation.

Air superiority having been achieved, the Whispering Voices aircraft started to split up into flights, always maintaining an extensive force ready to scramble from the plateau.

The orders came through the AI, relayed faster than any normal chain of command, and passed to Vegana and Tarrican in the theatre. Humans were being moved in the capital; and it was time to stop it.

Jeeps were the first things to move out by land, but by the time they had set out recon flights from Comanches were already underway, and above them the vigilant Flankers.

Following the jeeps rolled the Leclercs, treads chewing through the ground, moving at seventy, surprisingly fast for tanks. VAB armed personnel carriers took the convoy of troops to their destination, guns linked to the troops inside each, 25mm cannons capable of shredding lightly armoured enemies and vehicles alike. Support came in the form of Crusaders and MLRS systems, each well-guarded.

And, guarded by Apaches, the force set off for the city. The constructed plateau base was still far from undefended.

Far, far above, the spy satellites registered and monitored movements in the city, down to the positions of the Dark Eldar's arms, and their postures.

Lastly, not long after the army set out, a massive, heavily-escorted transport plane came from the north and touched down on the plateau. Troops surrounded it, and whatever it held, it was moved to a prefabricated alloy fortress, and set under heavy guard, before the transport plane flew off.

Statement.. On the reason for pulling out.

'We apolgise for our misunderstanding of the WV position and the advisor will remainin place. However we feel that the forces of the Fallen in the Webway at present, and incoming are simply put too large a force to dislodge. We have seen them and their number's are greater than we can deal with. A Fight in the web is a difficult concept at the best of times, randomn forces are at work in the web, sometimes to go forwards one must first go backwards, or turn left, or right. The Enviroment is a maze of all four dimensions, yes four as Time itself plays it's part in the maze of the Web.

If we considered it a possibilty to dislodge them and force them out to face you we would fight, but we don't. We cannot secure the web, and as such we cannot see how you would secure the country of Raem.

Farseer Council

((As a side note the advisor's advice changes from useful, too doom and gloom. He is constantly saying how without control of the web it will be impossible to hold them down and take the fight to them, which it is needed to be able to do to defeat the Fallen.))

Air attacks were made difficult by the scattering of the forces, but far from impossible. Wings of Migs followed any major groupings, and minor groupings as the satellites and the planes' own sensors picked them up, cratering the ground around the fleeing Eldar with rockets.

Notes of underground entrances were carefully made, and geological and topographical information combined and co-ordinated to provide details of probable natural caves.

The Dark Eldar note the approach of the Whispering Voices forces. The evacuation is hurried, more gates opened underground, where they would be safe from attack, for a while at least. The Dark Eldar themselves begin to slip out of the city, through gates attached to each strike force, or simply burning into the desert away from the oncoming forces, scattered enough to make air attacks difficult.

Mieka monitors the situation, standing by near one of the gates being used to evacuate humans, with her Incubi and the Farseer in tow. Things are going well, and she smiles behind her mask.

Major thompson watched as his troops advanced, he fingered at his necklace, after today he would add some new trophies to it. After receiving airsuperiority they were pretty sure that their camoflaged and heavily cloaked troops could achieve the flankmaneuver they had planned together with their allies. Their panzer rolled on, almost soundlessly, as silent that Thompson always was amazed such a beast of machine could move that way, but he knew they could only move silently at this slow speed and it had taken them all night to achieve this position.

Two inquisitors came back through the woods and signalled that they had seen no opposition, Thompson signalled for them to return to the rest of the scouts. Anytime now he thought, anytime, this paradisial landscape will turn into a scorching hell. He clasped his gun into a closer grip and moved on.

OOC: Vegana has deployed 100,000 inquisitors, 650 taurustanks and some mobile artillery at the plateau. This avantguard consists of 20,000 inquisitors, 100 tanks and some scouts. Its supposed to outflank and come in form behind so they're quite stealthy and use good equipment to aid that cause.

The Special Intervention Team has touched down at an airbase outside Raem. There seems to be a fair number of soldiers to protect the contingent, but these are outnumbered by the technicians who are working around the clock to maintain the SIT equipment, which is being kept on board the large transport planes they came on... nobody has really gotten a good look at it yet.

The team itself seems to be rather small, but more than self-confident about the upcomming conflict.
