how can you tell how much money you have? like to buy things and what not

It has been my observation that nations in this game are not bound by the restraints of real world ideas like " budgets" and "fiscal responsibility" It seems to me that most everyone pursues this game as if their nation could exists eternally in a state of total war.

To answer the original question either look for the GDP calcualtor excell sheet that is about or use:

Where you replace crookfur with your nation name and the defense=5 with the percentage of your GDP that you wish to allocate to your defense departments, 5% is about avaerage for most people but may be a bit on the exceesive side to some (oh and re move the > and < to ge tit to work).

Your economy like everything else is up to you as this is RPing, just don't make it too unrealistic. And you don't have to provide sheets of eXcel to people to prove you have X amount of peashooters etc like some sad gimps do.
