Kill some of the Gatling guns. Nothing against them, but I dunno, put a howitzer type gun on it, or something of the like. With a C-141, you got space to spare. Spice it up a little, put some heave arty on it (ala AC-130). maybe even some smaller guns (7.62 mini? .50 MG?) Like I said, on a Starlifter, youve got room to spare.

It is the largest plane used by the US Military at the moment. The Marines use it primarily (damn jarheads). It's really a great deal! :o
The C-141 is no longer being purchased. In fact, it is being retired. It has a tendancy to "bulk out," or run out of cargo room, before it goes overweight. It is being replaced with the C-17. Currently the largest aircraft in US inventory is the C-5 galaxy.

Aircraft have arrived at Tellerus Naval Base, and are currently being checked over by our skilled team of flight mechanics. Fights have broken out among aircrews over who gets to fly the AC-141-B's first.
A small military evaluation has been set up for two days from now. Two aircraft are being used to decimate a column of old Soviet T-34 Derelicts. We will of course send you the results of our test. If the TRIAD Military Brass deem the AC-141-B to be a worthy aircraft, a larger order will be placed. The aircraft are the backbone of the newly formed 1st Infantry Air Support Division.

Military assessment passed with flying colors. The two AC-141-B's made their first attack run in precision and with excellent accuracy. 24 old tanks traveling in two columns of 12 each couldn't respond to the fast attack run the aircraft made. 9 tanks were destroyed in the first pass, decimating both columns.
The accurate fire from the 98mm cannons and rockets knocked out the lead tanks in each column, stalling the tanks in their advance. Subsequent passes decimated the other T-60s and T-72s. Computer-monitored fire revealed that the tanks would have only done light damage to either aircraft, mostly due to the fact that their guns couldn't elevate high enough. The small machine guns couldn't penetrate the thick hull of the AC-141-B.
Flight Officer Mikal and Flight Officer Rerval both remarked upon how excellent the C-141 is as a gun platform. They said it was extremely stable during firing, even when the heavier cannons were fired. In addition, they said the recoil compensators aboard worked excellently and aided them during their firing.
Air Marshal Fazalur, Commanding Officer of the 1st Infantry Air Support Division, was heard to say this during the trial.
"Damn! If I was in one of those tanks and heard four screaming turbofans, I'd run!"
The military high brass in attendence were extremely pleased with the performance of the aircraft and are evaluating their need to purchase more. It is likely an order of up to 24 will be placed, however we need to construct new airfields.
Sincerely,
~Emperor El' Jonson~

*sits and ponders the AC-141*
what real good would this aircraft do against modern SAM sites, due to its size it would have very limited manuveribility in low altitude and most of its weapons are limited range, which means it would have to slow down and fly real low to accomplish anything. I could see a Handheld Stinger or more likely a Linebacker or Avenger SAM system ruining this things day quite easily
not to mention low flying Helicopters with AA capability. Or even normal fighters.
What sort of survivability does it have against these?
too me it just seems like a giant lumbering target.

my point is Battlefield Survivabilty
with the size of the aircraft it has to maintain a certain speed to stay in the air. and i'm just pointing out that you really don't need something like it.
the mission it is trying to accomplish can be accomplished just as easily with smaller lighter and cheaper aircraft
How many of these planes do u got left and how long will it take to get them delivered?
