Gravedigging

It was a week on some general threads, but they die quicker now. So has the definition changed? If not should it be? Maybe to three days [unless you were a poster in the thread and had a three day ban, then went to find all posts by [your name] on your profile and answered an unread [by you] post]?

Oh no you did-ent! *waggles fingers in that ghetto way. You know, like Queen Latifah does when she's watching two busty women slag each other off. Actually, has that ever helped? It only seems to exacerbate the situation. Surely she could utter some calming words. Maybe bake a cake? Something along those lines anyway. It would certainly do more good than her further infuriating two already angered women*

I will be away for lunch and then again for supper on Saturday July 4th. If it rains I will only be gone for lunch. Because if it's nice in the evening, there will be fireworks.:) You all know why. sing-songy:wink:;):p

There ain't no exact number. It depends on which forum and which thread. NS roleplays have been known to lapse for three months and then take off again. Some current-affairs General threads are dead after a week. A spammy thread is dead on the day of the last post.

Probably a bit of retaliation for Max redirecting the NS2 address back to Nationstates since Jolt closed that piece of cr-I mean under-appreciated effort and pointed the address to one of their other games.

Well, there has been an official split between NS1 and Jolt. NS1 is no longer hosted in any way by Jolt/OMAC. Both the game and new forums are self-hosted nowadays.

Not much I can do anymore; anything I say I can't enforce over here. Granted, we have no idea the temperament of the new overlords of the forum since the NS mods are apparently no longer in charge here.

All I can say is just remember what happened to Daistallia.

Daistallia rather loudly proclaimed a particularly negative opinion of Nationstates 2, encouraging other players to likewise share their generally negative impressions of NS2 on game review sites and the like.

With no real warning given, Daistallia was IP banned. Not by us, but by the Jolt staff, without so much as a message to any of the NS mods that "o hai, we're in ur forum, banning ur user." When Dai inevitably contacted us asking WTF was going on, we thought a short term ban or something hadn't auto-expired (one of many unhappily common problems) and the ban was rescinded. Which was then followed by some behind-the-scenes retaliation and restriction of NS mod powers, lots of negotiation, and finally convincing the Jolt staff to let Daistallia back onto the forums, albeit with a new account.

At which point, it was decided that we needed to get the forums off here and the sooner, the better. It was not the first time that the Jolt staff tried to elbow in on our turf, but it was the most invasive and the most serious, and we determined we could not trust said staff with our users and our forums any longer. After that, we no longer discussed sensitive information in our secret mod forum; such brainstorming was taken offsite to prevent Jolt/OMAC from seeing it and/or stealing our ideas, and things were put into motion to get the new forum up and running.

Spam is ground pork and ham, so it's kind of like a canned solidified meatloaf. Personally I don't like the flavor, it's an off taste. Other people seem to like it, since it's been selling since before WWII.
