In its bid to beat Google, Microsoft has unveiled a slate of convenient features for Bing, including an "autoplay" tool that lets users preview videos simply by hovering a mouse over them.
That asset may become a liability, because users can get a taste of porn videos on Bing instead of having to go to a smutty Web site — an innovation other search engines have yet to offer.
You know... they may be on to something here. *goes to Bing*

Also the fact that their website design sucks ass.
actually, it is a big deal.
ok, so let's get away from the 'Oh Noes, kids can watch porn now!' mentality and look at the big picture.
because it's going through BING, and not some porn site, you don't have the safeguards around. so companies that block such videos will find that their filters and firewalls don't block this.
that opens up the company for lawsuits for 'hostile work environments' and other such cases.
Microsoft has a history of putting out products that are "neat" and 'Convienent' yet end up having to patch alot of mistakes that could've been taken care of if they were not so quick to put to market.
I don't see 'Bing' being the exception.

it's a search engine. it's like blocking Google or Yahoo!.

Actually, they do work. Read the second half of the article - at least two companies have reported that their software blocked out all illicit results on Bing.

err. no, two Filtering software companies say they can block all explicit results. too bad there are many more filtering companies, and the one we use doesn't block all results.
*watches more bing porn previews at work.*

I have yet to be told why images of the U.S. Constitution were blocked under the tag of Pornography, and I don't think I'll ever get (or want to get) an explanation...

Might have been a reference to the previous 8 years in which the Constitution was perceived to have been violated repeatedly.

It'd be like an episode of Robot Chicken. A Law and Order: SVU skit where the Constitution is found to have been violated repeatedly, and The Bill is taken in as prime suspect.

because Knowledge is power and power corrupts and another word for corrupt is pervert. so anyone who gains knowledge gets Perverted.
and anything Perverted is Pornography.
