Meet Australia's latest public servant/NSG in the job market

So, it looks like I won't be unemployed next year. Instead I'll learn about open market operations with the Australian central bank, which is nice. I think a thank you to NSG is in order, because my writing skills appeared to have been a crucial part of their decision to take me into a grad program half the usual size, and I think it's obvious that NSG has improved my writing skills over the years.
But, lest this thread become any more bloggy than it already is, do you think spending time on NSG would actually be beneficial in finding a job, or doing a job well? Could it be that the years of procrastination might actually be good for something afterall?

congrats buddy
And yeah...I'd say that NSG actually has been useful for me. Most of my friends don't really debate, so this place has helped me structure my arguments more firmly. I've also learned things about economics from people like you, law from people like neo art, and a shit ton of other stuff from the other people scattered about.

I certainly wouldn't put "spent, on average, one hour per day on the forum of a browser game" on any resume. But, if your job requires interacting with a wide variety of people, not all of who you agree with or even like (i.e., any job which doesn't consist of mailing bombs from a shack in the Montana woods), I imagine this forum is very useful. I don't know if the writing thing is necessarily true, but your posts tend to be longer and more informative than most, so in your case it might be.

Well done, so far I am still going to remain in the dole queue.
On Sunday mornings NSG is the only thing that keeps me awake. Yes, NSG does help me with my job skills.

Top work! How does it feel working for a government agency and not in the private sector?
NSG has helped me become more critical or various arguments and to take everything with a grain of salt, but as for employment, all it does is make me look more intellectual because I've been exposed to more detailed economic and political theories.

Very much so. NSG has improved my writing, procrastination, and debating skills. :D
