Ladies of NSG, as I get on in age, I feel the urge to have children. Suffering from arthritis and possibly going blind within the next few years, I'd like to have at least some time to enjoy being a father, playing with my kids, showing them how to use a camera before it becomes too difficult for me.

I haven't always wanted kids, but now my heart is telling me, "Andrew, you can't avoid this."

I want to start new traditions, teach my kids everything, and pray that they are as sarcastic as I am.

I'm not asking to have sex, artificial insemination works fine. Just asking for someone here, the people I respect the most, to give me a hand.

On a related note, a friend of mine had been seriously looking for someone to get her pregnant and then fuck off. She didn't want any trouble from the father down the road, but because you can't quite contract out of that sort of thing, the fear was always there.

So! During a research trip in Bosnia, she got knocked up, and is now back here, happily pregnant with the father none the wiser.

I liked my aunts approach. We were in the natural history museum in NYC, looking at the skeleton of Lucy (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lucy_(Australopithecus)), and the little girl next to us started sobbing and screaming "I DON'T LOVE YOU ANYMORE!". So my aunt very calmly said to my sister and I, "Now, if that was my daughter, I'd say *points at skeleton* That's what happens when you're a bad little girl."

The girl shut up quickly. I'm not sure if this is a point for or a point against the fact that my aunt has never had kids...
