You forget. Bankruptcy is a sign of entrepeneurial spirit and risk-taking. Not at all a sign that you've got poor judgement and keep running away unfairly with minimal punishment for not providing others with what they are due.

you can declare bankruptcy again after a period of 7 years.
trump had his bankruptcy problem due to divorcing the first wife. it made his creditors nervous so they started calling in his loans. he settled that out and has been more-or-less OK since then.

Other then the personnel bankruptcy after his divorce, it has been his companies filing for bankruptcy. His personal assets are protected from a corporate bankruptcy, so whatever he paid himself as CEO of those bankrupt corporations can not be touched.
