I wonder if somebody on his staff had the balls to pipe up and say, "Hey you know the employees of those companies don't come with the equipment right? We'd still need to pay people to do the work."

I wonder if that somebody still has balls.

thats another problem. He will offers these employees much less (well the educated ones that could find new oil at least), and they will instead opt to go work elsewhere.

I would. If I have a skill worth X and Venezuela takes over the employer that is paying X and cuts pay to Y, then I will go where I can still earn X. Unless they intend to go Soviet and shoot you if you try to leave the country. :p

Haha, that rich country rarely have chicken meat and milk, so there.

Eventually nobody would want to do business in Chavezland because of the uncertainty... uncertainty that one day, suddenly, the state will seize your property/company/ownership/life.

Most foreign businesses will have had resevrations about investing in Venezuela for years. Now they are unlikely to even loan to a state run business. I can;t even imagine how he can claim to have the long-run economic future of his country as a priority.
