No Duke Nukem fer you.....
Veteran games developer 3D Realms has closed down because of a lack of funds.
Founded in 1987, the firm popularised the concept of shareware gaming and produced the seminal Duke Nukem and Wolfenstein 3D first-person shooters.
The company was working on a follow-up title, Duke Nukem Forever, which after being in development for 12 years has become the object of industry derision.
Publisher Take-Two says it will no longer fund development of the game but retains rights to the title.

Duke Nukem For Never is one of the nicest piece of vaporware (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Vaporware).

Since I never played any Duke Nukem-games I didn't really care about it, and the last years the games has been a joke. If it ever got released I doubt it would be to good. Games like that don't age well.

Yeah they are just waiting for ID to buy them out. I think ID should, you can never have too many programmers. Duke was pretty cool in the day.

It was indeedy. I spent far too fucking long at it. And it had replay value too, which something I don't find with most games...even the ones I rate highly.

It kind of had a little sense of humor that maybe Quake or Doom lacked. Maybe it was the cheesy lines but it seemed to make feel like an action movie.

Yep. There was a lot to it too, in terms size of levels, variety in types of enemies, weapons. Despite the fact it was funny, it was still intense.
I still remember certain parts - it took ages for it to dawn on me what the van was about, on the TV in the bar.
The porno theatre/peepshow was hilarious too.....
Duke Nukem Forever could still come out....it could!

that is kind of a shame, cos Forever would probably have been cool. the old Duke Nukems were awesome. as long as the new game had strippers you could pay to flash their tits, it would have been just like old times...

I saw the alpha for that. half of the game involved shooting things in or outside of the world trade centers.
