Wow.
what gets me even more is they predict needing another 1.5 billion in government money.

Someone shoot everyone tied in anyways shape or form with that company.

That is NEWS?

I thought it was painfully obvious.

First they made overpriced cars that were crappily built out of trash-recycled plastic and didn't sell.
Then they tried to fix it, so they also started to lose money even on these glorious days when one did sell.

I still say we should let some of these companies fail.

Did anyone anywhere really think that a single penny of taxpayer money pissed down the various rat holes would ever be repaid?

And Chryco is just a drop in the bucket compared to other moneys already lost.

Twunts.

If Obama gives Chrysler this loan as well I'll pie him also.

No! This is american capitalism. Failure, like boom and bust, has been removed from the system under the wise guidance of Prof. Bernanke.

Of course Obama will give them the loan. Why wouldn't he?

the government did get a 8% equity share. if Crapcars starts making profit it should take them a few centuries to pay back the government loan.

What's his favorite flavor of pie, then? I mean, since he's the President, at least I'll give him the respect of pieing him with his favorite flavor.

I've heard a rumor that once the reorganization goes through, the UAW is going to attempt to sell their stock in Chrisler, to put into their pension fund.

For the union, I have to admit, it's a brilliant money grab. Gives both the company and the tax-payer the shaft.

I heard somewhere that this bailout will backfire, flood the market (needing moar bailout monies) and make it harder for GM and Ford (who aren't godawful incompetent) to recover.

Brilliant move, Gov. Ensure the survival of the weakest car company whilst putting the future of the ones that have a shot at success in jeopardy.
