assorted medical expenses

I've had a lot of them so far this year. In February, I went to the dentist for a checkup and to fix a tooth that I chipped. Today the filling fell out, which is probably going to cost more to fix. Last week I went to the optometrist for a checkup and discovered that I need glasses (I didn't know how bad my vision was until I sat in the chair, I just knew it wasn't what it used to be), so I had to plunk down money for the vision tests and then more for glasses. While I have supplemental health insurance, it doesn't cover everything (i.e. it only does $200 for vision, the glasses alone were $295 [lenses are expensive]) and I have to pay out of pocket and get reimbursed so it always feels like a lot.
Fortunately, I have provincial health insurance so when I go to the see the medical doctor for my checkup, that won't cost anything...

What medical expenses have you incurred this year? Does it feel sort of like it's one thing after another after another? Is this just part of being a responsible adult?

Veterans benefits covered 1,200 dollars in health care for me this year.

At least they covered it. My health plan is sort of half-assed.

I miss when my parents paid for this stuff. :S

I'm nearing the end of this rope, but luckily I've applied for post-secondary (it only took 3 years) so I can stay on under their benefit plan as a student for a few more years.

Thankfully, due to nice things like travel insurance and the Canadian health care system I haven't had to pay a dime out of pocket for this years rather extensive medical expenses I racked up. Swiss hospitals aren't exactly cheap!

I haven't seen a doctor or dentist in about 4 years... so no medical expenses for me :p

I have no health insurance, so unfortunately I've mostly skipped out on medical care lately even when I need it. In particular, I've got a quite obvious and painful cavity that clearly needs filling (or very possibly a root canal at this point), but I simply have no way to pay for it. Being poor kinda sucks. :(

I have a neurologist, an OB/GYN, an orthopedist, a psychiatrist, an optometrist, a dentist, and a psychotherapist. Chances are, I'm at the doctor right now.
