The Yorkshire vs Lancashire thread

Call to power

I know this if a very heated issue so I'd ask that we keep the flames down

which of the two shires is really gods country?

for those Johnny foreigners out there these two shires have been at war continuously since the dawn of time (despite residing in the same kingdom) and being victorious in these wars usually results in being made King which is sort of like being president in that you can't do shit without your barons.

Now that we have that out the way naturally we can all count on me supporting Lancaster until it actually comes to be me doing something at which point I will let Yorkshire prance through and speak with the King :p

His Grace King Richard the Third of the Name was so much a better monarch - or would have been - than that dried up creature Richmond.

The country couldn't stand a minority reign just then. I go with Josephine Tey's theory in The Daughter of Time that the Princes were still in the Tower after Bosworth and Henry had them done for.

Yorkshire is (surprise, surprise) where York is - used to be the captial of the region before it got divided up into 4 different counties.

And despite being a southerner by birth, York is my adoptive city, so Yorkshire rose all the way. Afterall we all know the only good thing to come out of Lancashire is the M62

I joke, I joke - Black puddings too :p

I suppose we can just be amused at their little indignation, foot stamping and pouty little "it's called football!"

It's soccer. Deal with it

difficult one. Yorkshire had the four Yorkshiremen and their very own Ripper, while Lancashire's got Ecky-Thump and Black pudding.
