In my opinion i think its the worst drug in the entire world.

Recently after getting into contact with a friends sister from my old home town I have heard basically all my child hood friends are fritted on P (P is the unique street name given to the drug in New Zealand)

Also it has quite a strong grip in the town I live in at the moment and you'll be guarenteed to know someone who is on P/meth. I was recently at a friends 21st birthday when 3 P Fiends arrived with another person who was actually invited. They were scary to say the least

They showed us thier high powered lighters that looked like blow torches to melt the crystal and one guy who acted and appeared so fucked out of his brain was hyped up jumping around the place boasting

"haha yeah Im just on the meth, you know I lost 26 Kilo's in 6 weeks!"

I didnt stay long at that party

Then another girl I use to work with who at school was always an outkast and quite plump. after being on P she became bone thin her teeth looked and still look absolutly horrid and she is the most stupid person I know infact one worker convinced her our boss purposly tried to burn down our workplace and she believed him. She then went on to heavy drinking and chain smoking and had a siezure in the car park and 3 days later on her first day out of hospital came into the workplace to buy cigaretes.

Im never going to try that drug its so not worth it EVER. dont try it once even.

One more story of another person who had an experience with meth.
The guy who turned 21 well one of his cousins was very on to it, was set to go to university and was top in his class then found P and absued it for god knows how long.
Thankgod he's off the stuff now BUT he can no longer land a job or follow basic instructions that it desintegrated his mind so much he lost a lot of intelligence......

I like grape meth best but if i get tired of it i go with the cherry.

I tried meth once. While high, I remember this much: You feel like you could fly; everything moves quickly. Your heart rate jumps. Your excitement levels go up. Sure it's drug induced, but hell, that's why it's a rave drug. You want it to give you the energy to dance all night. Coming down is a bitch though because suddenly everything that was good and felt right no longer does. It's not that you're feeling worse, it's just that the effects have worn off and your mind wants you to believe that you're worse off. That's what makes it addictive for many.

Once was enough for me. Personally, I'd toke grass any day; for a variation, I'd use LSD or an E.

Trafficking in Meth is one of the actions that I feel should, depending on the circumstances, result in a life with no parol sentence. That should make my view on this subject fairly clear.

It is, psychologically speaking, one of the most addictive drugs out there. It's fascinating neurochemically (trying to remeber the specifics here from a couple of years ago, so bear with me), it acts by not only blocking the reuptake of dopamine in the neucleus accumbens but actively causes dopamine to be released.

Now the neucleus accumbens is the reward centre of your brain - fulfilling primary reward functions (eating, sleeping, sex) cause dopamine to be released there and therefore objects associated with these primary sources of survival become reinforced, give the sensation of pleasure and are more likely to be repeated. Therefore it manages to fool your brain into thinking that it is necessary for survival and pleasure, more so in fact than actual primary reinforcers because it also blocks the reuptake, so the released dopamine lasts longer.

She obviously wasn't using a pacifier or anything to prevent herself from clenching her jaw. This effect of meth is also present in an E and easily countered by the use of a pacifier. Why do you think ravers wore pacifiers? To prevent themselves from clenching and grinding their teeth. I found that in a pinch, gum also works; as long as you keep your jaw moving.

I've done anphetamines which are chemically similar to meth but safer. There is actually only so much meth a person can do before it starts accumulating in the body and forming dnagerous crystals which can travel through the body slicing as they go and potentially blocking off circulation to important bits. IMHO anphetamines in general as a total bullshit high too - not even all the much fun.

I've heard the exact same scare story for everything from poppers to ecstasy.

Weird, I had a dream that I was taking meth last night, and today it's a thread on NSG.

I've never really enjoyed amphetamine based chemical highs either. I'm more into natural drugs. They seem to make my body less ouchy. Probably just harder to cut with crap.

Before discussing issues of legality, I would need to do more research into such issues as addictiveness, effects, etc.

As for anphetamines - no they totally are not fun. I mean they keep you awake but whats so great about that? They make you paranoid - thats not so great. It's like all the bad effects of cokaine without the I'm-a-super-man-rush. Comparatively speaking if you want to do bad drugs do coke ... it also makes you paranoid and keeps you awake but it's a hellofalot more fun. Mind you I dont aprove of coke either but IMHO it's alot better than meth.

Um, you can't concentrate on anything when you're on meth.....well, anything you want to concentrate on.

Also, clenching your teeth isn't the only reason meth breaks your teeth, it also causes you to produce less saliva......which isn't fixed by sucking on a binky.

No, it's quite hard. I will admit that one has to mentally force themselves to; that's if, they are able to remember to do so.

Smunk is right about the saliva bit. It helps if you make a point in keeping water with you and drinking at regular intervals. I remember drinking a lot of water when I tried in order to avoid dehydration.

Crack is worse then meth. If only because meth heads plan out where to get their next fix crack heads have no plans.

Methanphetamine constricts blood flow somewhat, but the notion of crystals forming in your blood and travelling to your brain or vital organs is, as far as I'm aware, an urban myth.

As for anphetamines - no they totally are not fun.
Like any other drug, amphetamines can have negative side effects, but, again like any drug, they can have positive side effects too.

In Thailand the people I was hanging out with would do that to cross the street. One lane at a time. It was freaking crazy. Cars wizzing by at 100km/h.
and jam packed traffic. sometimes have to stop between lanes for 5 minutes.

I really don't have a clue. I'm so scared by my addiction to nicotine and caffeine that I will NEVER, EVER try anything more addicting, or more powerful, than those.

(btw, cannabis is quite light, both as mind-altering effect and as addictivity).

Meth? Hideous. Personally, I consider people who make that stuff to be absolute scum.
