I can't find many confirmations on this besides a few small newspapers and wikipedia.

So what say you NSG, and be honest, do you still watch The Golden Girls?

Here it is on Wikipedia, but, its very vague...
Death

According to a family spokesman, Arthur died early on the morning of April 25, 2009 apparently due to complications brought on by cancer.[6]

Yes. Golden Girls was Sex & the City years before Sex & the City and with old people, and funny.

Sadly true ... (http://www.nytimes.com/aponline/2009/04/25/arts/AP-US-Obit-Arthur.html?_r=1&ref=obituaries)Never liked The Golden Girls as much as I did Maude. That was a spin-off of All In The Family, remember? Maude was Archie's cousin. Or was she Edith's cousin?

Aw, no.

:(

And yeah, I'd still watch Golden Girls ever so often when it was on reruns a while back.

Oh how sad. Maude was a major breakthrough in television. May she rest in peace.

I still watch it occasionally. I'm sorry, but not surprised, to hear of her death, she was a favorite of mine.

I admit that I watched Golden Girls occasionally. Getty made that show.

Eventually. People I don't like, too, as well as people I know and people I don't know.

It's quiet unnerving.

She died last year. The irony of it was, she was younger than Arthur. I think Betty White has made out the best after the show.

No question about that. I think a good portion of folks of our generation could tell you who Betty White is. I don't think the same could be said of any of the other Golden Girls.

I actually never watched Golden Girls, didn't really seem like my kind of show.I watched it when I was a kid, because my mom did. I've seen Steel Magnolias four or five times for that same reason.

And then there was no longer Maude...she had a good run. Goodbye, and thanks.
