that sounds interesting. i find the photo of the not crisp slice of bacon a bit sickening so i would at least cut them up into pieces.

I'd use this: http://www.richardwoodall.com/bacon-offcuts

instead of strip bacon.

I'd use kidney beans instead of the green (french) beans.

I'd add some chili powder.

I'd also add a little (fresh-squeezed) orange juice, and an equal weight of chorizo (equal to the weight of bacon, obviously).

Add some bloody turmeric and make it look less grim. Also make the sauce less watery.
