I'm going on a Zombie festival soon. It's going to be a handful survivors pitched against the undead hordes. I'll be one of the latter. First off, zombies are the shit. Secondly, it's way cheaper to be a zombie.

Now, to contribute to the whole thing, I'd like to dress up as a neat zombie character. However, since I do not have much money, the costume/role should be simple, yet a looker.

Here's a couple of thoughts that came to my mind:

- Paramedic. I still have some of my old shirts when I used to work as one. (Haven't actually tried whether I still fit into them. That could be a slight, no scratch that, bigger problem. Maybe in shreds I'd still fit into them. Dunno.)

- Office guy. With tie and suitcase. Don't know whether I can get my hands on a suit that fits, though.

I was also thinking about what I could carry around with me. Office guy has a suitcase, okay.

A whithered bouquet of flowers constantly in one hand is one of the ideas I have. Like a guy showing up for a date with flowers, turning into a zombie, and still hanging onto them in the afterlife.

Thought about an arm, or a hand, a foot maybe - but apart from visiting the town morgue with a saw in the wee hours of night, I wouldn't know how to get my hands on prosthetics.

I still have one of those paper-suits that CSI-people sometimes wear. Might look like an ABC-suit but that would need some serious add-ons which cost money. Plus, the paper suit will not withstand the mud and gore, shuffling around, and being fought.

I might get my hands on a lab-coat and go for the crazy scientist who created it all?

So, NSG, help me out here. I need your thoughts on costumes and ideas for accessories.

The funnest costumes were ironic social commentaries, like the Hare Krishna zombie from the original Dawn of the Dead. A Zombie Cafeteria Worker might be another idea.

It's in a series of zombie-themed games from Cheapass invovling "Friedey's", a fictional fast food joint staffed entirely by the Living Dead. Another card game in the series is Lord of the Fries, which involves trying to assemble customer orders. And then there's The Great Brain Robbery which involves zombies on a train trying to well... rob brains.

My sister's boyfriend got the tickets and I honestly don't even know what it's called.
But they were €25 per zombie and a lot more expensive for wanna-be survivors, so our choice was very easy.
