How do You Get Your Day Started?

Antilon
19-04-2009, 18:26
On weekdays, when I have school, I get up at 5:25 A.M., and do some morning exercises. While I do this, I boil some water for coffee. Afterwards, I make some coffee and have some breakfast (bowl of cereal or, lately, a fiber bar). Then on my way to school, I zone out to my iPod. So far, this seems to work okay.

On weekends, I sleep in (wake up usually between 10:00 and 12:00). Sometimes I start up my 360 immediately, and jump into a 3-4 hour gaming spree. Other times, I'll take a cold shower. And sometimes I'll do morning exercises.

Lately, I've been thinking that I should change how I start my day, because, frankly, these patterns are starting to become a monotony. With my spring-break, I've totally destroyed all usual day-beginning habits, so now I'm set for a clean-slate. So, NSGers, how do you get your day started? And what changes would you recommend (if any) to how I start my day?

Time I get up depends which day of the week, but between 6.30 and 7.30. Kettle on, shower, brew tea, dressed, Today programme on, breakfast (cereal, tea, fruit), teeth, then it's usually time to leave for work.

Weekends: up whenever, shower, dressed, breakfast. Then whatever.

What time do you first wake up? You remind me of my uncle; he would eat something small for dinner, sleep 6 hours, eat a huge meal, sleep 3 hours, then wake up. Funny thing is, he's the oldest of my uncles but looks like the youngest of them.

Well, around where I live, a sports drink is $2.something per bottle, which I would, at the least, drink half of in a morning. Compared to about a $4-5 can of instant coffee mix that will last me a month or two, it's much more economical for me. I'm not sure if coffee gets me up, because sometimes I fall asleep in class. And I don't have coffee in the morning on the weekends or during vacations, either (not because I'm afraid I'll get addicted, but I just don't feel like having it).

Of course, a cigarette is out of the question.

Mondays- Wake up at 8, get dressed and brush teeth, go to chemistry class, then go to breakfast, then go to calculus class at 10:45. After that I'm done with classes for the day, Monday is my easy day.
Tuesdays- Wake up around 8:20, eat breakfast, brush teeth, go to physics lab
Wednesdays- basically the same as Mondays except I'm not done after calculus
Thursdays- Wake up at 7, eat breakfast, brush teeth, go to chemistry lab
Fridays- Wake up at 7:20, eat breakfast, brush teeth, go to chemistry small groups

But now labs are over, since we had our lab finals last week, so I'll be able to sleep in on Tuesday and Thursday and then do homework/my project/study until my 3:30 class, since I'm done with the project for my 12:30 Tuesday and Thursday class, turned it in early and got 100%, and he said I don't have to come to class anymore because there isn't much point, all they'll be doing in class this week is... turning in their projects. :)
