NBA Playoffs

It's not fair that we have a playoff thread concerning some weird northern sport (I'm from Houston) and not one over basketball. The NBA Playoffs are beginning, and I'm excited, though pissed off after what happened last night.

So prediction, thoughts, blatant fanboyism? I'm all but certain that this will finally, finally be the year when the Rockets get out of the first round, and I'm allright with that.

What happened last night?

The Rockets lost and went from the 3rd seed (and home-court in the first round) to the 5th seed.

Celtics to come through again.

I haven't even been paying to the season this year.

I used to be a Sonics fan because I loved everything Seattle. I even follow the Sounders, and this is with me living across the country now.
So when they moved to OKC, I felt angry. But alas, I had seen this coming and had already found my replacement: The Portland Trail Blazers.

GASPS AND ANGER! I know, I know. I just lost all Seattle Cred. But they have Brandon Roy and he was a Husky, so my choice is solid.

Needless to say, I'm happy they have a 4th seed.

As much as it pains me to say this, a repeat isn't happening. Not with today's reports that Garnett might be out the entire postseason.

The Celts were built to be a 1 year wonder and that year was last.Unfortunately I can't seem to find any way that would prevent another battle of #1 seeds.Meaning Lakers vs. Cavaliers in the finals.

I'm failing to understand why everyone says the Cavs would defeat the Lakers in the finals. Assuming that Kobe and Lebron are about even (and I would actually argue Kobe is superior, but I'll be nice), we should then take a look at the supporting cast. And the Lakers outside Kobe blow the Cavs outside Lebron absolutely out of the water. There's also the fact that Jackson is a far superior coach to Mike Brown (who absolutely, positively does not deserve Coach of the Year)

As much as it pains me to say it, my Spurs will be likely going out in the 2nd round, or if we are lucky, to the Lakers in the Western Final. I just can't see anyone stopping those robbers this year, not even King James.
