Sewing machine hoax hits S Arabia (http://news.bbc.co.uk/2/hi/middle_east/7999168.stm)
Saudi police say they are investigating a hoax that has seen people rushing to buy old-fashioned sewing machines for up to $50,000 (£33,500).
The Singer sewing machines are said to contain traces of red mercury (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Red_mercury), a substance that may not exist.

Perhaps we must closely guard my grandmother's old Singer sewing machine, terrorists might be interested in it to make a nuclear bomb! :eek: Please don't tell anybody we have an old Singer sewing machine...

If it is Exist it is not red(that term was meant to refer to communism) and is likely not mercury. Just some secret material used in higher end atomic bombs.
