I think most people have romantic love or infatuation.

I believe, if I ever find love, it could be no other than Consummate love. Of course, the chances of that are rare in the first place, but you have to dream. :p

I'd say you can't be that committed without reciprocation. Intimacy is a maybe, it could be imagined intimacy (a la de Clerambault's syndrome), and passion is easy without reciprocation. But for true consummate love, I'd say you need a decent level of reciprocation.

Well, my specific situation involved a partner who lied to me about his feelings. I thought he was in love and committed, too, but it transpired that he was not. Hence why I'm curious as to what degree of reciprocation is required. :)
