the problem with Houston is they don't have a real area to go hang out. Montross is close but half the good places there don't cater to straight people.

What does sharing a girl have to do with her being bi or not? Surely if you're in a monogamous relationship, then the fact that they find other girls attractive is somewhat irrelevant, no?

Things that I've seen in Texas:
A woman in her 70's hike up her church dress to pull her underwear out of her ass, yes a 75 year old ass. So lady like.
People throwing beer cans out of their cars at brown people.
People spitting skoal on the ground and then cat calling me.
Cowboys spitting skoal in their soda bottle and then asking me out.
I fell asleep at the McDonalds, they told me that if I didn't leave they were going to call the police.
Texas sucks, your people suck, they aren't friendly, the roads aren't maintained the cities aren't planned coherently, urban sprawl causes everything to be at least an hour away from where I'm staying, traffic is horrible nobody here knows how to merge, use their turn signals or yield...I could go on.

Traffic is horrible everywhere, regardless, unless you live in small towns. About the only city I've ever been to that didn't have traffic that made you want to scratch out your eyeballs is Corpus Christi, but that's likely because it's on the small end of being a city. City planning can be chalked up to the rapid urbanization of the state during the early 1900s where more people would enter the city than the city had room for. The latter development is just poor planning from the city council, but like most politicians, they can't be expected to do their job now can they.
With all that said, yes there are some complete hicks, racists, fools, and whatnot, but to discredit an entire states' population because of individuals is rather harsh. It's like everywhere else in the world, you have your rotten apples, and then you have your good people, trouble is, you have to look for the good people among the rotten ones.

As for traffic, OKC has some of the worst traffic I've ever been in. I've spent many hours sitting on the I-35 parking lot there. I now go out of my way to avoid driving through it if at all possible. But then the same is true of many cities with such rapid growth.

Some are just playing at it, yes. They can usually be spotted by the creases and starch they put in their jeans. But many are genuine farmers, ranchers, and non urban dwellers. My partner, for example, owns a farm and has a sizable herd of cattle that he works on his own. And some of them were born and raised on farms and ranches but now live in the city.

And yes we have no zoning, and thats the way we like it. Though if I could take some of our highway planners out back and reason with them. Smunkeeville - I don't know what parts of our toll way system you were seeing, but the majority of Beltway 8 and the Hardy toll road are wide, well paved, and very well maintained - if it weren't for the darned toll way plazas, I'd be doing the 'need for speed' conga - and even with having to slow for them we can still do a pretty nice 'from a roll'. ( I love my toll pass, no having to wait in line to pay the booth operator, or fishing for correct change!)
I was a taxi driver for a time, and will admit that some of the surface streets could use some work, but they are no worse than I've seen in other cities, both throughout the US and in Europe. Our humid weather and high traffic volume are death on road surfaces, but on the whole the city keeps after them quite well.
And yes Houston sprawls, and I love it that way- I'd hate being all jammed up on top of one another.

having 4 times the population and 100+ years more history then cities
For that 'logic' to hold, it'd have to be true for London.
I doubt you'd be able to make the case.

Likely has more to do with my approach to girls i know are Bi. But regardless I haven't found that to be a good mix for me. It is sort of like my aversion to blonds maybe they aren't really that bad but the ones i had liked and dated were.
What's that old saying about the common link in all your failed relationships?

I have read - I can't recall where, but it might be in The Nine Nations of North America - that Houston's problem is that it didn't plan its highway system in advance, to cope with projected demand; it just waited until the highways were absolutely necessary, and then built them as quickly as they could. Could be wrong, of course, since I can't recall the source and I'm not a highway engineer, but eh.

To be quite honest, as much as they like to talk crap about each other, Okies and Texans are exactly the same people and culture. Not a bit of difference between them.

610 is basically patchwork of cheap cement and potholes......ick.
610 Loop is a nightmare, I'll agree, and theres nothing much they can do save maybe douple decker it, there is no way they'll ever be able to widen it.
And - planned our freeway system? Nope not likely - we never thought we'd be more than a big Town, much less a city larger than the State of Maryland.

In what way?
Phrased as it is - that doesn't even make sense.
If it means what it LOOKS like it means, it's evidence that you've never been to London.
So - elucidate.

That the traffic is better because more people take buses or the tube ?
As opposed to Houston that has one singular light rail line that runs 8 miles.
And a bus system that makes it almost impossible to reliability get to work.
