Toaster Pastries

They go by many brand names (Pop Tarts, Pop Ups, Toaster Struddels, just to mention three) but they are essentially all the same thing; some kind of bread-esque crusty outside thing with jam inside and sometimes (preferably) frosting on the outside. They come in many flavores and this is the primary subject of our discussion today:

What if any is your favorite flavore of toaster pastry? Mine is definitly strawberry.

If you have a prefered brand, or style (frosted/not frosted) go ahead and post that too.

S'mores and Apple Cinnamon are both fantastic.

Honorable mention to Cherry and Brown sugar and cinnamon.

Pop Tarts. Nothing else has quite the same Atomic Age in America cheap breakfast fabulousness. Though I will say that, since the advent of the new generation of food additives, I find the lo-fat Pop Tarts better than the regular ones becuase the crusts taste more like food, the way they used to.

My favorite flavors are the frosted chocolate, Apple Cinnamon, and plain, unfrosted Strawberry or Blueberry. I will eat them either toasted or raw.

My cat likes them, too. If I'm not careful, he will grab them right out of my hand to get the crust.

They need a little emoticon with a dreamy look on its face and hearts all over. Thats the best reply to this post I could possibly make.

The only issue with Pop Tarts is that you need a proper toaster for them. One that *pops* them up when done. It's what they were designed for. I have a toaster oven. Toaster ovens are inferior at toasting. I'm waiting for the one I have to break so I can get the space in my kitchen for a real toaster.

Cheese Toasties - Endorsed 100% by Jesus!

But yeah, they are amazing. Especially when you chuck some meatballs or bacon in there.

You know, there are poor post-grad kids in Lower Allston who are currently using the oven on broil to toast bagels...

Trust me, I know. But see, the problem is they can't toast enough without drying the bagel out to a brick. Most proper toasters, even the cheap ones, have slots wide enough for bagels now, and they will put a nice toast on those babies while still leaving them edible.

Of course, you can't reheat pizza in a toaster. Well, you can, but you wouldn't be able to eat it -- nor possibly live in your house after it burns down. But since this is a thread about toaster pastries, I'm going to pretend that's not an issue.

I want one of those conveyor style toasters they have at all the breakfast places. Mostly because they look like fun and are fast. And yes, I would probably put my cousin's barbies on the conveyor belt.

What? Burning your house down?

Reheating pizza in the toaster. Though I prefer it cold usually sometiems I want it reheated. I put it in at the lowest setting and it has worked fine for me about 3-4 times, no fires. Granted the pizza was a couple days old so kinda dry.

They should make a pizza flavored toaster pastry, especially seeing as how pizza has gained popularity as a breakfast food.

Obviously you are oblivious to what consists of a students diet. Cheese toasties are excellent breakfast or lunch foods. You can even have them after a night out.

I was a student not that long ago, and I'm a gamer to this day I know all about inconsistent meal times/types. But this isn't about grilled cheese its about pop tarts!

I declare this thread void for double blasphemies: first, that Chocolate Fudge Pop-Tarts, the King of All Pop-Tarts, is not on the poll, and second, the very concept that pizza as breakfast food is meant to be served warm.

Once you have reported yourselves to the ReEducation Centres, conveniently located nearby, we can go about our usual business.

I virtually garantee you will not find a thread started by me that you couldn;t declare void.

My next one is about dish detergent!

I'm a sucker for anything with/on/has/made of chocolate, especially toaster pastries. The other flavored pastries can rot in my freezer. In fact, I believe I have a 2 year-old box of strawberry-flavored poptarts.

Fruit flavors are good. Honestly, I care more about the crust -- I love whole grain.

Its not the flavors, its how you eat them. I nibble all the crust off all the edges first so the only thing left is the googy frosted good stuff.

Toaster strudels are so much better than pop tarts. There is no comparison, one is hard and dry, the other is light and flakey, with a nearly fresh baked taste. I love thee toaster strudels :fluffle:

Unfortunately I'm poor so I buy off-brand pop tarts

and Apple Cinnamon PopTarts...

But, I normally eat Apple Cinnamon Oatmeal, or Buttery Grits for breakfast anyway...

one of, if not the most disgustingly repulsive thing ever invented by an advertising sub-genius.

toasters are for ''english' muffins'/toaster biscuits, bagels and slices of bread, not this retched sugarfied crap.
